Went to this AAA to get my registration sorted out and lets just say that the customer service representative, Angel (go figure right) was less than pleasant. Smiling and speaking in a kind and professional manner is mandatory with my employer, but apparently not here. You might as well go to the DMV for that attitude and not pay the 75 bucks a year in membership dues. read more

Walked in to a very clean and well organized place. Was checked in right away to pay for my registration. It was under my moms name and I was paying for her. So they still saw me and check me in. Was waiting about 10-15 minutes before I was called. The woman at the desk was amazing! There was an issue with the registration and she new what to do right away and walked me through the process very precise. Then I did see the sign that said cash or check for payment and I did realize it until when I went to pay she told me cash or check only. Then I explain I would run to my car to get a check and came right back. She was very patient understand and helpful through this process and it was already closing time. Awesome place! Any place that saves you a trip to the DMV is awesome in my book! Not only do you get discounts on tons of things that I don't even really know about, but the road side assistance service is worth the membership alone. I do not have the best luck with vehicles which makes this a necessity for me, give me a brand new car and I am positive something will go wrong and it won''t work shortly after. But anyway, I mainly got AAA for the DMV services because actually having to go to the DMV is miserable at best. I transferred title and registered my vehicle here in no time. Just make sure you bring your AAA card with you to get checked in at the front desk and then you can sit, yes sit down and wait...no hot, sweaty, tired lines like the DMV. Im rating this company as a whole. The service reps are nice at this location, but their solution to my problem is totally unsatisfactory. About a year ago i went on a ski trip to mt baldy. About 10 miles from suburbia i hit a rock from a landslide and my car became disabled. It was a sunny day and the roads were completely dry. It took FIVE hours for AAA to get me a tow truck to show up. FIVE HOURS. Mind you i was not 1 hour up some treacherous mountain road. I was only a 15 minute drive from the suburbs. I called customer service to file a complaint. They said they would tell management. I never got any reply. I went to the local branch in enci. They had me hand write a letter. I never got any discount or apology for my inconvenience. Not impressed. read more

What can I say about the nicest, most knowledgeable, professional and courteous gals of any AAA anywhere. I go see Mary, Lynn and Susan for all mydmv needs and they are a joy to work with. I will miss Mary especially since she is retiring in a couple of months and there will never be anyone who can replace her. They other ladies are amazing and will no doubt hold down the fort ! I hate going to the DMV for quite a few reasons. The wait, the employees attitude, the stress. AAA was an open door to an alternative road that can lead to the same results. Getting my DMV work done quick and easy. Dani Mathieu is awesome! She helped me getting my insurance set up for the both of my cars and for a whole lot less than what I was paying before I switch. I was qualified for a bunch of discounts which really helped a lot too. I'm a 4 year member and I am pretty sure that I will continue to be for as long as I can. read more

Elizabeth Schein is my agent. Been with her for about a year. When I first signed up with her I had nothing but the feeling I was being taken care of. Half a year or so goes by and all of a sudden I need help. When I called I got Elizabeth's voice mail stating she out of the office for an extended amount of time, all for good reason, but the service I received when she was gone was horrible. Today I called her number crossing my fingers that she would be back, and she was! I immediately received assistance from Elizabeth, and received the assistance that I expected, cause she set the bar pretty high; I am relieved she is back. This review is for Susan in the DMV section of this AAA office. I raised three children, who are very close in age, alone and on a very tight budget. All got their drivers licenses within 18 months. I frequently went to Susan to get through some calamity or another and she always calmly helped me find a solution. Car impounded? Title lost? Can't afford registration? Won't pass smog? Susan has a solution! Some of those solutions were truly innovative! Now those children are in their 30s and she is still there - providing the absolute best service and solution to any problem. She inspires all who come into contact with her - always affirming that "it always works out". She makes what could be considered a mundane task and makes you feel like you were blessed by this super positive, special problem solver. 2 of my kids live far away but will ONLY do DMV work with Susan. I went in to renew my registration & get my Handicap license , the girl helping me didn't know what she was doing so a signature was missing!! I got a call a few weeks later letting me know my license was NOT valid so they wanted me to return to sign. I went to the DMV instead as I no longer trusted them on correctly processing my paper work!! I would like to mention the supervisor at AAA was annoyed at the girl helping me but told her everything was correct on my application & I asked her are you sure everything is signed. She also processed my disability license plate first before my registration which was the wrong way to process it, the registration MUST be process first before the Handicap plates & I told her that but she still did it WRONG so I wasted another hour while she got the supervisor to come over to help her!! I'm really upset they don't train their people the correct way to process DMV paper work as these are very important papers & they ALL should know what they are doing or maybe they just need not handle anything relating to DMV if thay can't get it right the first time around!!!! I will NEVER return to that location again!!!!! read more

I have been a member with AAA for over 13 years and every time I have to go in to their Encinitas office the reception girls are ALWAYS rude and unhelpful. I have been to the Oceanside office and those gals are always wonderful and sweet. The Encinitas office should take some customer service classes. read more

I went in to AAA to get registration stickers that i never received in the mail so i didnt have to go to the DMV. Its nice to not have to go to the DMV but this place is a close second, the people at the counter treat you exactly like you don't have anything you need before they even speak to you. The attitude and friendliness is right there with the DMV, pretty mediocre at best. Not very helpful, not friendly, but the only good thing is that it isn't the DMV. Thats not saying much. read more

we have been fortunate enough to be members for years and use this Encinitas, Ca. location of AAA. The service we have received many times from Susan in the motor vehicles registration section is a truly shining example of just how excellently people should be treated. I am a disabled elderly female and Susan could teach the staff at the VA in La Jolla and San Diego how to treat those who need help. They have been cruel and non-caring to myself and many veterans for years. It is just wonderful to go into the AAA office and be greeted in such a warm and caring manner by Susan in the DMV section. As I wait for my turn I notice how well she treats everyone. She goes out of her way to make copies for people who need them and complete all transactions and answer every question. I will always be more than happy to renew our membership with AAA because of the treatment we receive from AAA employees like Susan in Encinitas, Ca. read more

I was with a different car insurance company when I was rear ended by someone with AAA. My insurance company would not allow me any medical payments for the injuries I received in the accident. The AAA rep came to my house asked to see the bills and gave me a check for 3 times the amount I had paid - for pain and suffering. Then, 6 months to the day of the first accident, I was rear ended by someone with Mercury insurance (horrible doesn't begin to describe dealing with this company). Again my insurance company did not want to pay any medical (I was much more injured the 2nd time - we were stopped in traffic in LA and the texting driver hit us at 45 mph embedding her license plate into our bumper and causing $8,000 damage. After trying to deal with these companies, my pain, bills, and endless phone conversations I decided to switch to AAA. They have been fantastic - easy to call, easy to deal with, and helpful. Fortunately my accidents have stopped so I cannot comment on how they deal with clients in an accident. read more

She is not only the most knowledgeable travel agent I have ever worked with, but she is extremely professional, and her recommendations are "spot on". She thinks of everything, leaving me with absolutely no worries, because I know Windy has thought of everything and is taking good care of me. read more

It may be too much to say that I would rather go to the DMV, but at least the people there seem to be working. Went for 2 reasons. The woman that signed us in clearly stated that she signed us in for automotive, so that after we got our passport photos done, there should be minimal wait for automotive. We got the photos. Came back....and waited....and waited...and waited, while workers stood around, helping no one. I asked the lady that "signed us in" if we were all set. She appeared bored and responded, "yes." We waited....and waited... and waited, while, oh I don't know, 10-12 more customers came. I asked the SAME woman, and she went on her computer and eventually told me that we were never signed in. She asked for my card so she could actually sign me in, and told me it was my fault, insisting that she told us that we had to come and sign in again AFTER the photo. There were three of us. All three of us heard her clearly state that she signed us in, and there would be minimal wait after the photo was taken. The staff couldn't move the one customer that was ahead of us. I had no idea how long it would take to take care of the dozen or so customers that came in while we were waisting away on the bench. So we left. I get it. People make mistakes. But don't blame the customer when it was your error.....Won't be going back there again. read more
