Convenient location to get some DMV services completed. The staff are nice, and there's a waiting area as cozy as their parking lot - small and compact. Vehicles / Insurance registrations are generally easy. However, the experience today was ridiculous. I already paid the registration, and they requested a smog check. Once I did that and returned, they had me wait TWENTY FIVE MINUTES for a sticker. I really hope they change some policies to fix this. Wonderful customer service! The staff here is so kind and very efficient in their work. Came on a weekend morning and didn't have to wait very long at all. They have a little seating area that is comfortable if you do end up having to wait. The office was decorated in a very festive manner for the holidays, which was cute. You can tell they really care about where they work. We also came in with our two-year-old and the staff was so kind to him and let him play with lots of things that were used for displays which was really kind of them. They also had some kids coloring books for sale that came in handy to keep my son entertained while we were waiting. They also sell travel guides/books if you're planning a trip! The agent at this encino aaa offered me a life insurance, about 59 dollars, which I paid may be 8 months , then they gave me a quote , to pay more money for 10 years and secure it went up to almost 150, I guess I paid 2 to 3 months and I decided to cancel it, because to much money. I went talked to agent, he made me a letter I signed it and he sent it to the appropriate office. A year after I got a statement saying about that insurance , they been deducting 145 every month for a year. Without me knowing I was been charge for life insurance. It sound like scam!!! The agent didn't send the signed form from me . Be careful people check your bank statements when you cancel anything with AAA. Iam not happy ss needs to reimburse that money 1700 because I cancelled with the agent. I give only one review due to this incident with Aaa. I feel I bee scammed by AAA. I have been a member for 45 years, I had to use their travel department, the service was extremely poor! They dont return calls they are understaffed, and the agents they have are very inexperienced, unprofessional, you can that they are new to the travel field. Poor training! They cannot answer qquestions, in fact they seem to be lost!!! I went to another travel agency my reservation went so smooth, with my flight and Hotel booked with a package price that was the lowesr price. The agent was a vetyeran, answered all questions, gave advice, explained in detail, and professional! Their was a night and day differnece than the club. I came into the office to handle some DMV services, and they were unable to find my membership so I figured it lapsed. Turns out it was under the "Northern California region" which somehow they can't see, though it's 2026. So they had me buy a membership and Todd S also duped me into buying insurance, after he also failed to inform me that I should do more due diligence about my existing membership considering AAA is living in 1970. When I realized I actually had a valid membership, I called to cancel the duplicate membership and have them connect the insurance policy with my existing membership. I spent an hour on the phone and got nowhere. Then I came in, in person, and escalated the matter to manager Colette C., who then informed me they would be unable to connect the insurance to my existing membership and that I had to pay a "short fee" of 113$, and that somehow the initial insurance down payment of 155$ paid about a week ago got prorated to the extent that the refunded me an offensive 1$, and can only *maybe*refund the duplicate membership fee. Overall horrible experience, incompetent and negligent service, I feel like I just got had by a bunch of crooks. The only positive was the folks in DMV services were helpful and got everything I needed accomplished. but AAA basically screwed me out of 154$ and will potentially screw me out of a chunk of the duplicate membership fee as well. I went to register my off-road vehicle. The first visit, I was told I needed a VIN verification because "they don't do that here." So I scheduled an appointment with CHP and obtained the verification. When I returned with the completed VIN verification, I was then told they don't register off-road vehicles at all. This is completely unacceptable. If the Encino location doesn't offer a service that AAA advertises, their staff should know this upfront instead of sending customers on a wild goose chase. The lack of training and communication at this location wasted hours of my time between two visits and a CHP appointment. I will not be renewing my AAA membership due to this experience. read more

They have two separate services, one is for DMV concerns and the other is for personal insurance (home, auto, renter, etc.). I've gone there numerous times for both and they could not have been friendlier and super knowledgeable. I most recently had the pleasure of dealing with a woman named Sonia for DMV issues. She was super polite, friendly and efficient. For insurance, I dealt with an agent named Tod Shirvanian. I got his full name because I didn't want him to be mistaken for any other agent. This guy is the best insurance agent I've ever had to deal with. He isn't just an order taker. I asked him several questions about different coverages and aspects, and he broke his answers down in ways that made it easy for me to understand. I got home, earthquake and auto with AAA, mainly thanks to Tod! I've already recommended him to some family members. read more

California DMV took & cashed my check for DMV registration renewal, but failed to send me the license sticker to put on my car plate & the registration form receipt. Either through DMV or US post office incompetence, I was up a creek without paddle since I thought I would have to go to the dreaded DMV and get in a line that would take 3 hours & more to maneuveur. I found out that one of the perks of being a AAA member is that many everyday transactions at the DMV can be consummated at the AAA thus by passing the California institution of torture. So at AAA I showed my original notice for renewal. From that, the needed info to check to see if DMV received & processed my renewal was ascertained. AAA simply printed out my car registration & gave me my sticker all in less than 15 minutes. During that time the friendly AAA representative & I got into a short, interesting conversation about Hinduism and India. It was cultural education & obtaining my DMV registration documents all in one fell swoop. How cool is that. From now on, I will go to AAA, pay my DMV renewal and simultaneously get my sticker & car registration papers to avoid not getting them via mail since lost mail translates into lost time and energy. I am rating this business 5 stars because of the service I received from Aaron. This was after getting poor service from a colleague of his (Sonia). I will not go into detail about her, but she made me feel like going to this office was a waste of my time (and my membership was a waste of money). Aaron was patient, helpful and understanding. I have had MANY frustrations with this AAA over the past couple of years and wanted to write this review once I had a clearer head... so here it goes! In short: inconvenient location to visit and don't expect to get any real help. Take everything you hear with several grains of salt. - TERRIBLE parking. There's a mini parking lot in the back that's shared with a salon, and a bunch of spaces are reserved. Very commonplace to watch people drive in and out and all around just to ultimately park somewhere on the street. I hate that I always feel the need to loop twice, and it always turns into a disappointing experience to park here. I'm sure the employees are parking in the lot, which is a definite no-no for any populated businesses on Ventura Blvd. - Awful service, especially recently. I echo the sentiments of other reviewers here - the employees act like there's no long line of people always waiting to check in. No urgency to bring the next person up, plenty of side chatter and relaxed demeanors. They really act like they don't care. Today, two people in line ahead of me were shrugged off and told to come back another day, simply because there were so many other people waiting. One lady asked to wait and the associate looked at her and said "It's going to be a long wait, but sure." I watched a couple of other negative interactions that resulted in frustrated customers huffing out the door, by other employees. No smile, no pleasantries, no apologies for the inconvenience to anyone. There is no sense of urgency or hustle at all, everything here is nonchalant and relaxed. Why? Well, that brings me to my next point... - Lack of follow-through and actual help. I ordered a license plate from this location a year ago. After 3 months, I dropped in for an update. I was told that, given COVID, license plates are actually taking up to 4 months but "it should be coming very soon." After 6 months, I showed up again and was told "given everything going on," the timeframe is 6-7 months but no more than that. Well, I came again today and was told by a manager that she's been telling her team to tell people "minimum of 9 months." I literally looked at her and was like "You know they didn't tell me 9 months back then." She responded "Oh, yes, it's always been 8-9 months." I can understand supply chain issues and COVID affecting production and all that, but PLEASE don't blatantly lie to your customers. It's so tacky and unprofessional, and reinforces the issues that customers have with you. In fact, to reiterate the point about lack of service, they wouldn't even check if they had the license plate in the office until I asked for the THIRD time. Again, I understand delays and it is what it is, but you wouldn't even check until I insisted? Same lady who told the woman in front of me to come back another day because "there's a wait," mind you. Frustrating all around. This review should really be a one-star, but I'm giving a second star because I have been to this location on several occasions pre-COVID and the people who were there back then were patient, helpful and considerate... Unfortunately, those folks seem to be long gone. Go to any other AAA possible - seriously, this one won't do you much good. Besides roadside assistance, AAA is a waste. The woman working at the desk gave me maps for Pennsylvania and Virginia, and told me that there aren't maps for West Virginia. I questioned that and looked up on my phone to find out that in fact, Ohio and West Virginia are together. I suggested that she look again and she says "oh you're right." The devastating storms that we had here in Southern California caused a lot of damage inside my home. The process is easier, there are way less people and shorter lines here than at the DMV. No, they are not the DMV but they do provide some of the same services at no cost to you. She was rude, dismissive, reluctant to provide information, ignored my questions until I had to add a "HELLO, MA'AM?" at the end (then she answered - so she did hear the question). She could barely make eye contact or explain anything (but had no problem talking to her co-workers) - happier to hold a printed page up to the glass and point at a line of text to read. I'll find a different AAA office next time even though it's less convenient, since dealing with customers is something they clearly don't enjoy here. They say they can call the property owner to see if they will refund. They say the property owner will not refund (Creekside Inn, Bishop, CA) Call Creekside Inn -- they say that the contract they have w/Booking.com & Priceline cannot be changed. Will any of these let me rebook the dates??? NO!!!! Everyone is pointing at the other -- and nothing is being done to help me. I've been w/AAA for what -- 30, 40 years! Maybe longer -- and I trusted the Auto Club to go to bat for me. If this is the kinda of crap they want to be associated with , then they are no longer the AAA I used to know. read more
