Need to avoid the DMV for certain services!!?!? HELL, YEAH!!!! I went to this AAA location to pay for my DMV annual auto registration, specifically. Upon entering this clean and organized establishment, I was cheerfully greeted with a smile at the front desk to direct me to the right area. There was a slight wait when I arrived, and 2 people were working this department. I think I waited 15-20 minutes, but no biggie, I wasn't in a hurry. Then, after my name was called, I approached a nice and friendly employee who worked at Mary's desk. I forgot her name, but she delivered quick and professional service. I paid cash for my registration fee, and by the time I finished, there were tons of people waiting. Sometimes, there's a wait, depending on which department you need. Bring your AAA card and your patience!!! Heads up!!!!! If you're paying for your DMV car registration, please remember: Bring your registration notice. They only accept CASH, CHECK, or VISA and MASTERCARD. They do NOT accept your visa debit bank cards. I received excellent customer service, and I highly recommend this location for friendly service!! Above and beyond is the only way I know how to describe the service I received at this AAA recently. I had a registration issue I needed help with and found out I can't just go to the DMV to resolve it. I went on a Saturday morning not expecting much. The line was very long by the time it was 7:45 before opening. I was helped right away much to my surprise. Nathan, the representative was willing to call the DMV on behalf of me, and what else I needed to do. I had to return Monday so the rest of the administrative issues can be resolved when the DMV is actually open. The fellow upstairs who assisted me to transition my account from Mid Atlantic region to West region was extremely helpful as well. He went ahead and transferred everything for me and the experience was fuss-free and TOO EASY. It felt too good to be true! I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes altogether on a Saturday. I returned the following Thursday to take care of the rest of the complicated aspects of DMV blunders. I was overheated from the lack of air conditioning adequately cooling the building. Before I even asked Laura, she had someone bring me cold water to cool off and turned on the fan at her desk to cool me off. I was so touched by the kind gesture. I was able to get all the forms sorted and ready to get it mailed out thanks to Laura. She also called the DMV on behalf of me and advocated for the mistake to get rectified on their end. Somehow they registered my car as out of state even though it was never registered anywhere but in the state of California. Very bizarre. This lead to me being unable to get my personalized plate that I had already ordered that's non refundable. Thanks to Laura, everything was resolved that day. She also made sure I had a spare copy and printed out the forms for me and helped me understand how to fill it out because it was very confusing. I am so glad I have a AAA membership because of all the assistance I was able to receive! I didn't know there are so many services available for members and it was really good to know. Lastly, the building has ample free parking spaces. Pets are NOT allowed so it's good to leave them home. read more

Who used to be a time where I would go to AAA, and get a wonderful amusement park discount. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case during this time. Additionally, I can recall two years ago. Were there used to be bottled waters available, AAA goodies, perhaps plastic water bottles, along time ago they used to be snacks too. Every person I encountered, there was very nice, however, one of the reasons why I went there was because somehow they put me on a automatic year renewal, and I don't want that, and did not request it So when I canceled it, AAA charged me extra money for the non-automatic renewal. Additionally, the day that I signed up for AAA they told me that the policy would be inactive for 24 hours, they used to be a time if I recall correctly that when you pay them the day of and the payment gets processed, your policy would commence. (This is mostly for the regional service over the phone, but is also applicable to the local branch's telephone service.) I'm an existing customer who wanted some price quotes for additional auto insurance policies as I'm shopping for new cars. I called the 1-800 insurance number, only to get directed to their automated system that redirected my call to a live person. That live person said they'd transfer me to the right department, which then sent me right back to the automated system. I did this 4x times before I decided to call the local office, only for the local office to tell me their computer was locked out of my account and they'd transfer me to the appropriate department. I told him I've already been through this rodeo and asked if I'd be transfered me to a live person. He said he's transferring me to the quote department, but it went right back around to the same automated system. This gatekeeping is a huge waste of everyone's time and extremely frustrating. The irony is some VP will probably receive a fat promotion for improving the call times. I will say in person, they have always been great. read more

This rating is specifically for my daughter's Auto Club Driving School in-car appointment that she recently had with Chris McCanna. We normally have her lessons scheduled with Chris and/or Jim Tuttle at the Mission Viejo AAA branch, but when we were scrolling for our next appointment for the MV branch, many of their appointments were 3 - 4 weeks out. (Closer ones were in Costa Mesa, but we wanted to keep it more local.) After poking around a bit and going back and forth with their system, we were happy to see that there were a batch of appointments that opened up here at the Laguna Hills branch, which included Chris as an instructor. Yay! My daughter really likes Chris as her driving instructor. After being with AAA for over four decades I HATE that AAA forced me to exclude my partner from my auto policy. For decades household members who might drive the car would be prorated based on how often they might drive the car. I can remember my spouse being listed as driving 5% or less and paying accordingly to be on the policy...that I can accept. Great job Sarah! My father, (Who is 89 years old) booked a Alaskan cruse through the Laguna Hills AAA office. When he arrived at the office, he had mentioned that 13 of his friends had already booked, so after giving the agent his friend's names, he was excited to be booked with the same itinerary that they had. Unfortunately, there were a few errors with the package. Once the mistake was discovered, I called AAA Laguna Hills to get it fixed and was referred to the supervisor named Sarah. From the very onset of my contact with Sarah she was very apologetic and compassionate regarding the situation. I know Sarah went above and beyond to remedy the situation. It took quite a bit of work on her part to get it right and my dad and I are grateful that his incredible Alaskan cruise turn out to be an absolutely amazing experience. I had a complicated situation. I bought out my car lease and the title to the car was mistakenly sent to a bank with the bank as the owner of my car. I finally got the title signed over to me by the bank and I went to AAA and spoke to Becky. Becky was very helpful and so understanding about my frustration. She told me that I needed to get another signed document from the leasing agency indicating that I purchased the car and the price that I paid. She gave me the DMV form with the DMV number because I would have to deal with the leasing agency located in Texas and she wanted to be sure they knew what document was needed. I was able to get that document filled out and signed within a week and I went back to AAA and saw Becky again. She was then able to finally help me with all of the transfers that I needed to do so that my car is now in my name. Becky and AAA are so awesome! I have done many DMV transactions at AAA and they are so helpful and knowledgeable and the wait time every time I have gone is no more than 10-15 minutes. read more

This review is for the excellent service that I received today from AAA out of Aliso Viejo. A lovely young lady, named PJ, helped me figure out where I was on a map so that I could get help from a technician. I am 70 so this was not an easy task for her, yet she did it with grace and patience, Then, I got a phone call from Joe (or Joseph) the AAA technician, who politely explained that he would be at my location within 10 minutes. When he came, he offered for me to sit in his air-conditioned vehicle while I waited for my son. Fortunately, I didn't need to do that because my son arrived pretty quickly, but it was so nice that he was concerned about me in the heat. He was very professional and polite. I appreciate AAA hiring and training people to quickly and patiently respond to people who are having a car issue. No one is in a good mood when their car is struggling. She is very thorough, very focused on the task at hand and will accommodate every detail you need to properly notarized a document. Well, I thought I'd give these guys another chance, but they failed miserably. I went to renew my AAA membership and was told that I had a balance due to using too many tows. I looked into it and it looks like I got double dinged when a driver showed up, couldn't provide service, I drive a corvette and it needed a flat tow, and they got me for two tows, even though they knew the car. So they gave me the number to call to take care of this, got bounced around and hung up on 6 times! Never got resolved and realized you can get roadside assistance through nearly all auto insurers. Now with state farm at a lower rate and roadside assistance. AAA is still the worst company I have ever delt with. read more

The wait time is similar to the DMV. Average wait time is 30 - 45 minutes. They seem short staff than before. The service given by one of the employees wasn't the best. This review is unrelated to the travel service that AAA provides or insurance services. It deals solely with the issue of battery service and product offering. The towing service that AAA uses in South Orange County is Aliso Viejo towing. Their service quality is quite good. The product, the replacement battery is at the core of my complaint. I had a battery failure in January, 2023. Aliso Viejo towing took care of my problem at that time, and I opted to buy a new AAA replacement battery. Now, 14 months later, this battery has simply given up. Won't hold a charge. Fourteen months is unacceptable in terms of battery life. I spent $177 for this defective battery and should receive compensation for the full value remaining, of the warranty. My advice....dint buy the battery offered by the AAA driver...get one from a reputable auto supply store or mechanic. read more

Purchasing insurance from this branch has been a bad experience. Constantly having to follow-up for updates on finalizing the policy. Price changes (both increases) 2x during the process of finalizing the quote... including once after the policy was already paid in full. I waited over 24 hours for a tow. 1st time the tow truck said it was just over his weight limit (FORD F350 owners I am talking to you) and another tow company was involved. HADLEY TOWING should not be on AAA list of qualified. 3X they cancelled on us and then when I called them directly HADLEY Dispatch said they don't have a medium tow vehicle. WIMPS!!! read more

I have been a member of AAA for over 26 years for Auto and Home Owners for the last 13 I had renters insurance prior . I think their offices are great/ they are always friendly and it's much easier to go there for services for registration or vacation planing like I did for a cruise years ago and they did great! As for having to pay for membership when insured kind of bites but it's life . I have watched my Auto Insurance premium go up every year even though I have a perfect record as well as my home O Ins . I am still with them and know their strength as a Company I know I don't have to worry about the Company closing like small Ins Companies. CS is always friendly and that's important. read more

I had driven on the freeway yesterday and something hit my car windshield and made a pretty large crack on the driver's side. It was an inch longer than the size of a $1 bill. I did not notice the crack until after I arrived to my destination. I called my AAA insurance and filed a claim with Corinna on the phone this morning and felt more at ease as she walked me through the process of how AAA can be of service and what the next steps are for repairing. She was very personable, kind, and informative. I had asked her if I could take my car to a new shop I had began to trust and she called them on her end to see if they fixed windshields. The company said they didn't do that for now at least since they are still an up and coming shop, so I decided that the other option to have SafeLite come to my residence would also be fine. She said that I would be getting a confirmation or approval of my claim in the next week or so and scheduled my car to be repaired on Nov 16th. She said there was no specific time SafeLite can assure customers as it is a mobile service but was able to make the time frame at least a little more specific, arranging it to be 8am-1pm. I also received an email today of the claim and a text of what SafeLite would need when coming to repair. I really admired Corinna's patience and time spent with her on the phone as it helped me become less anxious of this whole ordeal. Even being a member for more than 20 years, she allowed me to have more confidence and trust in AAA that the next steps should be this or that and if something isn't right to call them back. read more

I can't say enough about the customer service I received on my last visit to this AAA office. Pam assisted me in renewing my California car registration which was a complicated matter. I received a request for $100 more than what I had paid previously. So initially I thought it was someone attempting to scam me. Pam made several calls to the DMV to make sure that this was a legitimate request. And then she tried to have them delete the late fee because it was an innocent mistake on my part and if the DMV would have caught it in a timely manner I wouldn't have incurred the extra charges. Well, surprise, they weren't willing to forego the fee but Pam was made to wait on hold while the DMV decided it in their favor. The DMV actually dropped the call at one point. Her patience was way beyond anything that I could muster in that situation, so kudos to her and AAA! Thank you. read more

Just came in with my mom and was helped by Nathan. He was super sweet and informative and directed me on what to do in order to get California license plates. My only complaint was his DM who- in front of everyone belittled him and said "I don't know how you're not understanding this" when he asked for clarification on something about my case. She was very rude and displayed very ugly behavior-inside and out. I don't think anyone should be made to feel inferior just because they are asking for clarification on something. If your his manager obviously he's going to come to you for support. I hope she grows up and learns basic communication skills and realizes that everyone processes information and retains information differently. Thank you Nathan for your help!
