I bought two GX 550s from this dealership, both marked up by $10,000 over MSRP. When one was unfortunately totaled, their response was to try and charge me a $15,000 markup on a replacement. Their business practices are deeply deceptive. Furthermore, it has been five months since I canceled the coverages on the totaled vehicle, and they are withholding my $8,000 refund check. There is zero follow-up and zero accountability; they are masters of deflection. On top of that, they failed to handle my out-of-state registration and taxes. When I went to the Arizona MVD (ADOT), I had to pay out of pocket because this dealership never sent the paperwork. I have sent numerous emails and left multiple voicemails with no response. As someone who has purchased many luxury vehicles across various OEMs, this is hands-down the worst experience I have ever had. I ended up buying another new Lexus in Colorado, and the seamless experience there completely highlighted how shady this dealership truly is. Avoid them at all costs. Furthermore, the recommendation to reach out to Jeff Nicols, the Sales Manager, proves to be entirely ineffective. Mr Nicols consistently fails to answer phone calls; in addition, the telephone number 949-347-3500 does not actually connect to him. Instead, it directs the caller to Sean Davisson, another member of the South County Lexus team, who similarly disregards incoming calls, voicemails, and emails. Consequently, attempting to contact either individual via this number is unlikely to yield any response or remediation. read more

Calling around to multiple Lexus dealers became our only option. From our home in Roseville, we were connected to Santiago Gutierrez, a great guy and a truly helpful and honest salesman. From our very first contact to the delivery of our new NX hybrid several weeks ago, Santiago has been a pleasure to deal with. Santiago was always available and eager to help, providing knowledgeable answers to any of my questions. I have purchased many new cars over the years, but working with Santiago and South County Lexus ranked among the very best of car-buying experiences. Santiago continues to check in on us even after the new car delivery, asking how we're enjoying the car and whether we have any questions for him. We can't go to SCL for service, though I wish we could. Hopefully, our nearest Lexus dealer will be available for service when we need it. I rarely write reviews, but this experience left me too frustrated to stay quiet. From the beginning, everything felt disorganized- sales, finance and service center. The process of purchasing the used car was chaotic, and it quickly became clear that customer service is not a priority. After the purchase, I had to repeatedly follow up about basic administrative issues, including not receiving my physical license plates in a timely manner (check to make sure your vehicle has a rear AND front license plate prior to purchase so it is street legal!) and ongoing confusion surrounding the title transfer for my trade-in vehicle, as well as the finance department contacting me wanting me to get answers from my bank about my car loan (although everything had been done on my end already and shown as active through my bank). Communication was poor, and I often felt like I was chasing down answers that should have been proactively provided. Not long after driving the car off the lot, I started hearing a knocking sound whenever I went over bumps. Concerned, I took the vehicle to another shop to have it checked (closer to my home as I live approx 2 hours from this dealership). I was told there were loose bolts that needed to be tightened -- something that absolutely should have been caught during inspection before the car was sold. Even more concerning, the rear brakes were in terrible condition. The brake pads were worn down to just 2-3 mm, and the rotors were so damaged they could not simply be resurfaced -- they needed to be replaced. This is not minor wear and tear; this is basic safety. Selling a vehicle in that condition is unacceptable. The dealership did not provide me with their center's service records on the car (after repeated requests) but told me over the phone that they "checked the records and the brake pads were documented at 6mm." Buying a car is a major investment. Customers deserve transparency, organization, and -- at the very least -- a safe vehicle. My experience was stressful, disappointing, and frankly infuriating. I hope this dealership takes a hard look at its processes and starts treating used car customers with the same care and accountability they expect in return. No need for the company to reply to this telling me to contact them as I see done for other reviews. Over the course of one month, I tried repeatedly to get a resolution for these issues, both through the sales and service department. The case is now being elevated to small claims court as I would expect a Lexus Dealership could easily have chosen to do the right thing in this situation. I am posting the screenshots of the communication between myself, Chris, and Kate (I believe she was the last person to text me). They are both listed on the dealership's website as Guest Experience Sales Staff. Insinuating that the customer is an uneducated buyer, not wise with their money, and pulling the "This is Mission Viejo" card so you should be able to/willing to pay the price we say is insulting, elitist, and not a place that deserves my business. Two days prior to that weekend, Daryush said we had until Sat for a deal to our expire and asked when we were coming in. Ok, no problem. We had planned to come in that Saturday but my husband had a question about leasing factors. So we asked that question after thanking Daryush for reaching out. We had every intention of purchasing the car and we were very much looking forward to it. Daryush snapped at us, texting us that he shouldn't be asked to predict leasing factors and abruptly telling us that the deal is off! He pulled the rug out from under us for simply asking a question. Apparently, as the customer you're not allowed to ask very many questions here. We were appalled that a Lexus sales member would treat us so poorly and quite honestly, it was pretty unsettling. Initially I didn't plan on leaving with a new car that day, but I am so happy with the new car I absolutely love it! I am so glad everything worked out the way that it did. I went back to the Lexus dealership and I went to the service department and I told them my tire was flat and they told me they could not fix the flat tire for liability reasons. What a joke. The car comes with a warranty and yet they won't help you when your tire goes flat. I purchased a 2021 Lexus ES250 AWD on March, 2025. Within a week, I began experiencing multiple issues. I reported vibrations from the front wheels, which were diagnosed as internal wheel-bearing failure. After replacement, the issue was resolved. I requested spark-plug replacement, as they should have been changed before the sale according to the 60,000-mile maintenance schedule. Throughout March and April, I made three separate visits to South County Lexus because the driver's seat would not return to its programmed position. A case was opened with Lexus engineering. By June 23, it was determined that the programmed position was stopping the seat to avoid contact with rear passengers' legs--an explanation that took months to identify. On June, I discovered the engine oil level was above the maximum mark. The dealership confirmed the issue and drained the excess oil. During this visit, I also questioned a high-pitched transmission noise (which still occurs intermittently after 15,000 miles) and water inside the right headlight after the first wash. I was told the headlight issue was not covered under warranty and that replacing would cost $4,071.70. Technicians also found leaking ball joints, which were replaced. However, the lost oil was not replenished in the transmission, raising concerns about future wear. In the following month, I noticed a clicking sound when pulling away from a stop, steering vibration, the vehicle pulling to the right, and uneven wear on the outer edges of the front tires. After inspection, issues were found on both sides, and the axle shaft, axle seal, nut, and hub were replaced. Most recently, the brake fluid level has been dropping, accompanied by a high-pitched noise and noticeable vibration when applying the brakes. They recommended to replace it, but it's outside the warranty coverage. Overall, my experience with this vehicle and the repeated service visits has been frustrating, time-consuming, and far below the reliability and service standards I expected from Lexus. For sure, this vehicle didn't undergo the required inspection before being made available to the market. read more

had an extremely frustrating experience with this dealership. I was going back and forth with a saleswoman for days about a specific car. We set up an appointment, she sent photos, and confirmed price & details. Based on that communication, I drove an hour and a half to see it in person. When I arrived, I was casually told the car had been sold the night before. No heads-up. No message. Nothing. I rearranged my schedule and spent three hours driving for absolutely no reason. How does a dealership not know or not bother to tell a customer that the vehicle they've been actively discussing is no longer available? This was incredibly unprofessional and unorganized, they are incompetent and inconsiderate!! These people are despicable. I've leased 2 cars from them over the past 6 years and it was always an unpleasant experience. On top of that, their service is insanely overpriced. But this last visit was incredible. I went to look at cars and ended up deciding I wanted to buy out my lease. They said, "we can do that for you right here" and presented me with the document. There was a $1K lease buyout fee. I told them I didn't like that and I would wait another month until the end of my lease to buy it out. They tried to pressure me into paying it. I resisted. Well guess what, I went right to Lexus financial to buy out the lease and there's no $1K buyout fee. In summary, these lowlifes tried to rip me off a thousand bucks. read more
