I have a dog with bad legs so I wanted to try a mobile groomer to alleviate the typical 4-5 hours he spends at his drop off groomer. The owner Paul responded to my inquiry on a Sunday very professionally and expediently and answered all of my questions. I sent out multiple inquiries to multiple mobile groomers, none of them replied as quickly. He confirmed he would relay the information to the groomer Amy who showed up on time as scheduled the following day. The prices are competitive, not exuberant as some of the other mobile groomers quoted me. Amy the groomer did a wonderful job in under 2 hours and my dog was not stressed as he normally is after spending 4-5 hours at a groomer. The mobile van is clean and self contained, Amy didn't need to use my water or electricity as many of the mobile groomers do. I am VERY pleased and would highly recommend! read more

Had a great experience with Johanna this afternoon. My giant, frightened golden retriever was reluctant to climb into the van, but Johanna won him over with her sweet and gentle demeanor. He emerged looking like a darling puppy and tried to climb back in with her. The van looks brand new and is immaculate. The price was more than fair for the big job she took on. AAA Mobile Grooming is the best!!! Our 3 year old terrier mix is very rambunctious and gets extremely nervous when it comes to baths and trims. When Johanna arrived at our home, we didn't know what to expect. From the bath & blow dry to the hair trim & nail clipping, Johanna kept our dog calm through the whole process. First time customer and I was so happy with the service. I have a poodle mix and her coat can get pretty matted around her face and she's very sensitive and anxious. I live in Carlsbad and have been using this mobile groomer for about a year and absolutely love it. They are so reasonable priced, come to your house, and use no crates or cages. I've had bad experiences in the past with a groomer keeping my dog for 5 hours, but not Johanna. I email for an apt, get a text reminder, she parks in my complex, grooms my mini labradoodle in about an hour and a half, then uses her phone to charge my credit card. Super efficient. We have three large labs with three different needs. We have 2 8 year old chocolates and one almost 14-year-old golden. One of the chocolate doesn't do well with people. And the old lady has hip dysplasia so she can't move around a whole lot. I saw this van in the morning coming home from the gym and reminded myself so I could tell my husband. We called them and this wonderful gal Leilani (sorry if I butchered the spelling) came out. All three dogs did wonderful and they look great. I would strongly recommend them to people who have issues getting their dogs to the groomer or dogs that don't like to go to the groomer. The only thing I have to say is that van has three little tiny tiny dog puppies and they really need a picture of my old lady Hannah on the side of their van. This is our first time with mobile grooming and will defiantly not be our last! Our 16 year old mini doxie is mostly deaf and has very limited eyesight so is very anxious and fearful. Jessica took him and gave him the best grooming I think he's ever had! He was still a "handful" but much less stressed from not sitting in a shop for hours! He has long hair but we keep him clipped since its easier so he had bath, nails clipping, the whole nine yards! Very accommodating as far as time also. How this company ever got 5 stars is beyond me. First of all you call them it takes a while to get a response then it was over a week before anyone was available. I have an email confirming today at 3:45 pm. 3:45 comes and go while I am left wondering "where is the groomer." I waited, and waited and waited....then ONE HOUR later at almost 4:50 pm I got a call from the groomer stating that there had been a mechanical failure in one of the vans and did I still want my dog groomed...with no answer as to when he could do that. Well YES I want my dog groomed but I need a time and date please. He then said I could call the owner and he would see when the next appointment was. He told me Paul was available now so I called, twice no answer and no calls back. This company has a lot of good reviews so I guess that they don't care about screwing over one customer. I would never use them again ever.....neither should you. Spread the word! read more

Have used AAA three or four times and overall the experience has been ok. My issue is in their communication. They don't respond quickly to texts or calls and often not at all. I'm sorry but if you are small business owner I would think you want to always be quick to answer clients questions but unfortunately that is not the case with this company. The straw was when they texted me yesterday to tell me that their van had broken down and that they needed to get it fixed and that my appointment we have been waiting for 7 weeks has been cancelled with no alternative time given other than we will get back to you. This is totally unacceptable. Be creative, think outside the box but don't just tell me that it is what it is and sorry. I also texted them two times and called once to the number on the text and got no response till a day later when the owner gave me a sad story about needing to fix the van and he was sorry. Offer me a discount, tell me you will have a new time for me shortly, DO SOMETHING other than say it's not your fault. read more

Finding a groomer that you trust with your pet is always a challenge. Susan is relatively new to AAA K-9 grooming and is definitely a valuable addition to the grooming team. She is kind, loves her K-9 clients, takes a great deal of time making sure your dog is beautiful and relaxed during the grooming process and really listens to how you want your dog to look. Most importantly, she makes sure your dog has a positive and stress free grooming experience. My older dog has had some negative grooming experiences which make her a bit timid when grooming time comes but she was happy to see Susan and does not have her usual shakes! Not only are my dogs happy to see her and willingly go with her into her mobile grooming shop--the large poodles emerge clean and fluffy and expertly cut. Having a wonderful looking haircut is great but what is even more important to me is that my dogs return excited, wagging their tails and that Susan is kind enough to allow them to lick her face when they want to show their appreciation for a job well done. Not only does Susan do a wonderful grooming job but even more important is Susan's personality and her rapport and the friendship she develops with your pet. My dog is extremely shy and it's always been a struggle just to get her into the car to take her to a groomer. It's as if her doggie sense kicks in and she just knows where she's going. AAA K-9 Pet Grooming is fantastic and my dog is so much calmer after her grooming. We have had 3 or 4 groomers with AAA and each one has been great: professional, friendly, calm and understanding of my dog's quirks. They are fully contained and don't need water hookup or drainage, which is a huge plus. Paul responds quickly to appointment requests and is as accommodating as possible with regard to your schedule and for what they do, the prices are, I feel, extremely reasonable. I found them through positive yelp reviews. They did show up at the quoted time, but informed me the price would be higher than what I was told. I was originally quoted $77 for our dog and when they showed up they told me that I was quoted incorrectly and that the cost would be $102. I didn't have a choice by that time since I had waited for the appointment for some time. I was not very impressed with the cut, Or I should say lack there of. I did show a picture of what I was requesting and it seems like the head hair was the only place that was cut but not the rest of the body. I was quoted one hour for the work to be done but it turned out to be two-which is fine but I actually had to leave so I couldn't see the finished product till I came home. What bothers me is that the groomer knew that I was not a happy customer because of the incorrect quote and and did nothing about that. As a business owner I know that customer satisfaction is key and I would have done everything to make sure my customer leaves happy- which I did not! And if I am not comfortable with service and feel their is a lack of honestly I will not return. Sorry! read more

I would give a 10-star rating if I could. But, AAA K-9 Mobile Grooming and Johanna are the true stars. This was my first time using this service for my high-stress poodle-mix who is extremely mistrustful of new people, due to his past-history of abuse. Due to the quarantine, I was unable to book with his usual, long-time groomer, and Henry was long overdue. He had several foxtails stuck in his partially matted fur and his toenails were started to grow sideways, causing him pain. I was finally able to book with AAA K-9. I am so glad I did and I cannot recommend this service more than 100%. Paul, the owner, was very understanding and helpful, and Johanna, the groomer, exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to complete Henry's grooming session, despite his resistance and lack of cooperation. I wouldn't have blamed her if she quit, but she made it very clear how much she cared and understood his issues and really wanted to make Henry feel as comfortable as possible. She is so compassionate, professional, experienced, and, no lie, has the heart and soul of an angel. Henry is not an "easy dog" and cannot just go to a brick/mortar groomer. I have cried desolate tears because of how hard it has been to find a good fit for Henry, who was suffering under all of his thick fur and long toenails. I have to say, I never thought much of a mobile groomer. I would see trucks in the neighborhood and thought . . . Meh. When I did take my dog in for grooming I would just leave her there for an hour or so, pick her up and I thought, why does someone need a groomer to come to the house. Well, my Gracie has an CCL problem and will be having surgery after the holidays, so mixing her with other dogs didn't sound like a great idea. I got on line and began searching for a mobile groomer and after reading the reviews, I chose AAA K-9 Mobile and I have to say, BEST experience with a groomer ever. Johanna is such a doggie person. She is so zen, her presence sets you and your dog at ease immediately. Gracie loved Johanna so much, she didn't want Johanna to leave. Plus, the truck was so clean and fresh. Gracie came back smelling wonderful, fur shiny, toe nails trim, she looked like a proper English bulldog. Also, I want to thank Paul for scheduling me in at the last minute.
