Rude and not helpful. Called to have our baby car seat installed properly. The person answering the call appeared annoyed that she had to answer questions. Gave me the guy's name who's responsible for the car seat installments. Left him 6 messages in the duration of 2 weeks asking for a call back to schedule an appointment. I found it a simple procedure to get someone to ask questions of, and registering my new car and transitioning from owning one car, to two cars, back to one, again, and the complications of keeping all the vehicles properly insured were a breeze with the help of several kind agents in the office over the course of several weeks. read more

Yep it's bad! I have been insured with AAA for decades! I have had home and auto insurance with them. In terms of auto insurance I have no complaints however I just changed my auto insurance to a different company as I also plan to do for my homeowners.. I had to file a homeowner claim because my fairly new dishwasher failed. I thought it would be to my best interest, which was wrong, to use their preferred people. Works well with auto but not homeowner's! Their preferred people not only lowballed the cost of the work needed they botched the job for the mold remediation! It wasn't that bad but they made it worse by re damaging my dishwasher, after I paid to have it repaired, where by flooding my garage which is directly under my kitchen. Their company that is contracted with them is called, "clean right build right" I call them clean wrong build wrong! They were AWFUL!!!!! Too much to explain on them, but I can tell you this about AAA, they did not look out for me...I had to get my attorney involved and fight with AAA for 2 years. Meanwhile, I have had to be with out a kitchen this entire time, washing dishes in my tub! I finally settled with them and did get more money but it was still about 10k short of the real cost needed to do the work required. They put me through the ringer, fought me tooth and nail and could give a damn what I was going through in the process. I am turning 63 this year with stage 4 cancer and AAA in essence, treated me like dirt. I will be switching insurance as soon as I get done with my rebuild and say bye bye to AAA! I will keep my membership only because there really isn't an option to it. However, they have also been a pain in the ASS, leaving me stranded for hours and or not bring the requested flatbed even tho I am willing to wait for one. I drive all wheel drive vehicles and do not want me high end vehicles towed with a dolley when the vehicle has to go over 60 miles or more. If you are considering AAA for your auto, I say, not a bad choice. If you are looking for homeowner's, be aware...they just might put you through the ringer and make your life miserable! Now if you are part of a group of people with a loss they I'll make good to avoid a class action lawsuit!b read more

Called the 800 number and asked If could register / transfer title a newly purchased motorcycle from out of state. The customer service rep checked and said yes. Went down to the Walnut Creek office and was told that they cannot do the out of state transfer. Maybe there is a disconnect between 800 number and office which I'm ok with. What I'm not ok with is that when I arrived as they were just opening the women opening the door and said "Whats your hurry" . She proceeded to tell me that they don't do out of state motorcycle transfers. Which again if they can't , thats fine but her attitude was really inappropriate. read more

3 stars how about zero stars! This place is a JOKE! 1st we spent a good amount of money to get auto insurance through AAA and we also paid for a membership. Our AAA underwriter told us to only get 1 AAA membership since we live in the same household. We go to register our car for via the DMV services they sell you on as a benefit to go with AAA only for the guy at the counter to tell me we can't pay our registration because the AAA membership is in my name and I'd need to pay for another for my husband to register the car! No, and then HELL NO! AAA I'm going to cancel our auto insurance today for the car we tried to register since you wasted my lunch and my husband is now at DMV. I'd love to give an actual review for AAA travel as we've been trying to get in touch to plan a trip but no luck. First I emailed via their website an agent..zero response. Then I went to a different AAA site and filled out a form indicating what we were looking for in travel. I got called by a woman in UTAH. I said we wanted to sit down with a travel agent and actually plan a trip. She apologized and said her supervisor would contact the WC office and have someone contact us....never happened. Apparently AAA travel is no longer interested in actually helping people with travel. read more

AAA is the WORST! I just spent over an hour and half stuck in the fire lane at my son's school. They were supposed to send out a tow truck within an hour. After an hour of sitting there with no tow truck in sight, I called. And there was not even an estimate of when the tow truck would be there. It was getting dark and the woman at AAA told me I might have to wait for another hour before the truck came. I found out they don't even use Lamorinda Tow or Orinda Towing anymore. So if you need your car towed in the Lamorinda area, you have to wait for a tow truck to come from Walnut Creek or Concord. Canceling our service - the last time I needed the service I was stuck on a freeway onramp and finally the police came to the rescue after holding up traffic for over an hour. A local mechanic rescued me tonight - he sent a mechanic out to jump my battery. read more

THIS PLACE SUCKS!! My car was damaged by their insured so they direct me to rent from HERTZ. I go to Hertz and rent the car. I was making a right turn in SF (LEGAL) and apparently received a ticket from the camera. Hertz was sent the ticket which I never received and I was billed the $500.00 Since they paid I can't go to court and contest it. Oh and on the ticket it clearly says if you are not the driver sign here, If you are a rental car company fill out the attached form. I asked Hertz why didn't you send the ticket to me. The response "because we didn't have time". I said how is that my problem. They then said if you don't pay we will send you to collections and put you on the DO NOT RENT List. In other words the SCAM is in order to get their processing fee they pay the fine and bill you the ticket plus the fee. You lose all your rights!!! Told AAA everything basically they say not my problem. I say YOU told me to use them, you have the huge contract with them, Please help me. What they are doing is Illegal again I get not my problem call Hertz customer service. If you want AAA to stand by who they recommend Think Again. They will leave you high and dry. My truck was stolen out of my driveway in Walnut Creek while I was on a trip. Martinez PD caught 3 people in it. The driver was a career criminal out on parole. The city attorney refused to prosecute and let them all loose. AAA folks handled all the repairs and towing and storage just great. Can't say enough good things about my AAA experience. We have been members of AAA road service for 13 years. My husband and I are planning on taking a trip to the East Coast to enjoy the turning of the leaves. We went into AAA for information and discount coupons. This location was organized and hospitable and offered us such good information we now have an itinerary for our trip with hotels and car rental. This includes so many more attractions and stops than we could have ever figured out ourselves. Please don't overlook this fantastic service when you plan your next trip! I have had AAA insurance and roadside membership for over 50 years and this is my first disappointment: I had not driven my Prius for 6 weeks because of a cast on my arm, but I had started it during this period. However, when I was ready to resume driving, it would not start so I called AAA to charge the battery. The first mechanic was unable to do so (did not know where the battery was located and then was unsuccessful charging it) so called another mechanic with a tow truck who asked to see the owners manual and was also unsuccessful. He towed the car into Toyota where all it needed was a charge,but because it was a holiday weekend, I had to wait 3 days. I question the value of membership if the mechanics are so poorly trained--I had the impression that neither of these men had previously seen a Prius! read more

I'm not sure if this rating is for the service I got. I was passing Walnut Creek/Concord when my truck died on me. A friend of mine came to give me a jump since he was in the area, while I waited on AAA. As soon as he jumped my car his car died! It wouldn't even start. AAA roadside assistance came his name is Joseph even though dispatch gave him my wrong location he contacted me and came within 15 mins! He did everything he could to try and help us out. In the end nothing worked. While he called out for a flat bed so we can be towed off the freeway he gave me a nice cold water bottle and assured me that he will stay until the flatbed tow gets to me. Within 10 minutes I get a call from the guy with a flatbed he was straight out rude! Joseph got on the phone with him and directed him to where we were and made sure I knew I didn't have to deal with that guy. When he arrived Joseph helped load the truck up and we got to a safe location. People like Joseph should be recognized because he made my day and I am grateful for all of his help. My family and I have been a member for decades and this was the best service I have ever gotten. Thank you! read more

Very convenient. I got my international driver's license here. The line was very short, and the staff was courteous and professional. They took the photos, processed the license, and got me some free maps. Fees are reasonable ($20 for intl permit with photos for members). The office is clean and nice. The parking in the Plaza Escuela parking garage was easy and had a door directly into the office. read more

I finally gave in and paid it just to not have to deal with it. NOW my payment was a couple days late so they canceled my policy. They wanted more money to re activate it so I left, There are many other insurance companies out there. AAA can suck one. read more

I went into this location at 5-minutes before closing and was able to still get my car registration renewed in under 3 minutes on a Friday. Parking was easy, the office was super easy to find and the staff was friendly and helpful and knew exactly what to do fast! Best thing was no lines at all. The actual DMV location in Walnut Creek, CA had already closed at 5pm and the AAA office DMV portion was open until 6pm. AWESOME since I work and could only get to this branch after work to get what I needed done. read more

This AAA location in Walnut Creek, is the best I've ever been to. My Mom and I went in for a vehicle registration and title transfer. There was no line on a random Tuesday afternoon and we walked right up to Andy who greeted us with a smile. The entire staff was exceptionally professional, fast and courteous. Andy followed up personally with a phone call a day later to inform us of an additional form that was required. We have had roadside service for about 10 years. It has never failed me. Yesterday my light went on in the car to indicate low tire pressure. We checked all the tired, got them to where they were supposed to be, but the light didn't go away. Decided we would go to the tire store this morning.
