Tow took 90 min and aaa called and told me it was still not assigned but I had just gotten a text message 5 min prior that they were 15 min out from the tow truck driver- hmmm? My wife has been walking to work because her car was damaged by a AAA Colorado technician's improper battery installation. The dealer -- Mile High Honda -- has quoted nearly $1,000 for the repair. We submitted a claim to AAA. A week passed. We call and call but keep getting passed around. No one wants to talk about the issue. We finally receive a passive-aggressive voicemail from a AAA Colorado rep saying that, after a week of waiting, the investigation into her claim hasn't begun. There was also a vaguely threatening language that she needs to respond in a timely manner or ... tough luck. "We need you to fill out some forms before we can begin the investigation." When were they going to tell us? I'm guessing they were stalling ... hoping we'd just go away. We submitted the paperwork. Then, a total of two weeks had passed. We call again to see what is going on. We are told "they" will speak with Pacesetter Roadside Assistance, the company who installed the battery. What have they been doing in the mean time? We finally get an answer ... the folks at Pacesetter say that they installed the battery correctly so ... they will not be helping us with the damage. That's it? "We didn't do it." To our knowledge, no one from AAA Colorado spoke with the service department at Mile High Honda to get their side of the story. There was a time when AAA was a trusted, comforting travel partner. No more. AAA Colorado let us down. After decades of membership fees paid, and recommending AAA unreservedly ... we've been left with no choice but to drop them. We will continue to steer people away ... from what has become a scam. read more

This review is directed at AAA, not this office, per se. I have been a member for 38 years and have never had an issue with my account until 2022. My membership expires on 6/30 annually and I usually send a check on or around the 3rd of June. This year I decided to make my payment by a credit card, I completed the renewal form and mailed it in the envelope they provided, on June 3rd. I received a text message recently claiming that AAA had not received my payment and when I called today, 6/23/22, the agent blamed the USPS. I realize that mail delivery is slow, however, it does not take nearly 3 weeks for local mail delivery. This really concerns me since I believe that AAA has dropped the ball and now I have to worry about identity theft and that my credit card information is floating around somewhere. I am considering cancelling my Plus membership since I rarely use it. read more

It is hard to find young people whom care about there job and these two do. They both were helpful, knowledgeable, professional, kind and pleasantly helpful. They do exist! The old fashioned maps I mean. They had paper maps for every state in America and it was amazing to me. Even though we are AAA members I had never stepped into one of their offices. My daughter is going to Japan and she was told to get an international drivers license just to be sure she has no issues driving there since she will be there a few months at a time. The office staff were helpful and nice and finished the paper work quickly. They sell AAA approved luggage and every gadget for trips as well. read more

AAA used to be reliable! Not so much now! I purchased coverage for my teenage grandchildren and three times in the last year when they really needed help, AAA did NOT show up. One time we had to call another tow-truck service. AAA said they would repay but never did! These emergency calls were in the Denver area - not rural!! No excuses!! So sad and so dangerous! I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau! To add insult to injury, I keep getting advertisements for other things that AAA seems to be taking on! This infuriates me! I want them to do the ONE thing that they used to be known for -emergency road-side service - which is actually needed! read more

I have been an AAA member for years and previously had AAA auto insurance before moving to this state, so when I went in to replace my insurance, my expectations were kind of high. Unfortunately, the agent was having a lot of trouble getting his system to work. I sat and sat and was there about 45 minutes. It almost seemed like he was hiding something. Finally I gave up and left. I downloaded the Progressive app, and booked a policy in ten minutes for $400 less. I hope their AAA service runs better than the insurance service. read more

My wife and I went in on a Saturday b4 they closed. About an hour left before closing. I had talked to an agent at a different location about getting information about a trip we are plannin August, so thats 3 months time. He informed me that its not necessary to make an appointment or call ahead, just do a walk in and they will give me any information that we needed. So we went to this location because it was close to the errands we were running and convenient. We were assisted bt a older woman st the front desk. We explained why we were there and additionally that we wanted to renew our membership. She wasnt very pleasant and almost seemed bothered, irritated or had better things to do. But anyway was put off by doing her job. After we were done with her a associate took us to her desk where shr informed us she didnt know much about where we were going but that we could look in the books or maps that were available. Which made me a little mad because I thought that was one of th he benefits of being a member of AAA. We have both a desktop and laptop and since we brought a rough idea of things we wanted to do we thought she would be a little more helpful, she didnt even know they had atlas' there. Total disappointment. At least we get free tows if needed. Won't be back to this location. read more

If you're in an emergency, don't depend on AAA. The number of hoops you have to jump through just trying to get a tow is like buying a new house. Then they send you a text message saying your assistance is just FOUR AND A HALF HOURS AWAY. And if you're in an emergency situation, don't let them know you're stressed or they'll hang up on you. Absolute false sense of security with AAA. Check with your insurance company instead of AAA- they may provide roadside assistance. I'll advise family members and friends to avoid this waste of money. read more

This isn't for the store itself but for the towing experience. Our tow driver was Darryl, he went above and beyond our expectations. First, the dispatcher had our address wrong, so Darryl fixed it for us and headed our way. Lifted the car and took us to the 24hr autozone near our house. Our car has lug nuts and we didn't have the key so that is why we had to go there. Anyways, not only did he take us to autozone, he went in with us to help us figure what we needed to remove tire and changed our spare. I did not expect him to stick around after we got to autozone but he did. He is great. Thanks a lot Darryl, you are awesome. read more

If you are aver planning a trip it should start at a AAA, there all over the city and on line. If you are a member maps are free . They have maps for every occasion and small area of luggage and accessories for sale. They also do trip planning. The ladies that work there have been there for a long time so they know what there doing and are very friendly. They usually have books and stuff on sale cheaper than the book store. They carry a few Rick Steve's items too. This store is a few hundred feet west on 44th ave and Wadsworth. Happy traveling. read more

I ran into a jam where all the hotels were booked in the area I was going to. I came by and the nice lady at the desk helped me get a list of available hotels, and book one based on my needs. They even have an impressive waiting area and drinks, but I didn't get a chance to really check it out because they were able to help me right away. I would definitely return. read more

The travel store is good and they have lots of helpful gadgets and luggage. But I wanted help planning a trip to Disney world. The person I dealt with, Katie, wanted to do everything by email. She seemed irritated that I made an appointment to talk about the options instead of already knowing what I wanted. I'm 65 and comfortable with computers but not familiar with Disney in recent memory! Apparently she thought I should research everything myself and then just tell her what to buy. Then when I had more questions & could not reach her by email or phone, I called the office and they told me the website to use and voila! I was able to buy what I needed. But then Katie was quite irritated at that too, apparently because I bought the tickets myself. She refused to answer further questions and told me to call the AAA 800 number if I need more help. Not sure what the point is of having travel agents if they don't really like helping customers. read more

I've been a member of aaa for over 15 years usually very good service. Tonight my daughters car had problems at 515 pm side she manages to pull her car off to the side of the road into a parking lot. She calls aaa an is told a hour and a half well 3 hours later they tell her "your not on the side of the road so you are being moved to the bottom of the que". I am out of state on business but I call and voice my concern while on the phone they show up...i ask supervisor Thomas what the reason was that they moved a stranded young lady down the list and all he can say is hey we're too busy and I've told a lot of people stay home tonight....seriously this is what they have. Yes I am upset it's one thing if it's me, but I purchased aaa for peace of mind and they did not deliver and worse it was a horrible excuse..... read more

Love the maps and the store.. As a whole roadside assistance is hit or miss.. You either get a great tech or soomeone who has malfunctioning equipment.. Make sure the techs air compressor works when dealing with tires.. Tell the dispatcher! read more

This actually isn't a review of the AAA Wheat Ridge Store. Rather I wanted to write a review of the RV towing experience I had today, but could not find a category for this. From the time I called until the tow truck showed up I don't think an hour had elapsed. I have the RV Plus service with AAA, so the tow was included with my AAA service. Ty from APT Towing was dispatched by AAA. Ty was very knowledgeable, conscientious. patient and helpful. Ty took his time, making sure everything was secure, I was very impressed with his thoroughness. A job very well done! read more

I love AAA for not only the towing services but the travel services through their store and online. I recently went to the AAA store in Wheat Ridge to get a bag and security holders for my passport and credit cards. The people in the store are always very nice and helpful. I ended up returning the first bag and replacing it with a different bag from the store. They had great prices on the bags. I saw some of the same type of bags on Amazon for a lot more than I paid for mine. read more

My husband and I had our passport pictures taken at the Wheat Ridge office, and we appreciate the professionalism and efficiency of the lady at the front desk who helped us. She also provided us with the passport application, since our printer isn't working. We always rely on the excellent maps and tour books furnished by AAA for up-to-date information. read more

We came in to obtain an international driver's license and inquire about travel insurance for an upcoming trip. Getting the international driver's;license was relatively painless, and the 2 woman that helped us were very friendly. The experience with the person who was giving us information about travel insurance was another matter altogether. She was condescending and rude. When we were unclear on something she repeated it again slowly like we were idiots. She seemed incredulous that we hadn't planned out every detail of our trip, because we had left some time open for spontaneity. Because of this experience, we will not be purchasing any travel insurance through AAA. Horrible service. We did like the free maps however. read more

Needed help getting started with planning a Costa Rica trip for our family of five. My daughter was already there as a student so required 4 going out and 5 coming back. The place barely meets minimum needs for travelers, but the staff are rude, disorganized, and need some serious training in customer service. Since AAA is the only place in the USA for obtaining an International Driver's Permit, there's no choice if you want an IDP. My wife and I got our prior IDP's at the former location on 44th Ave, which took a very long time due to their poor camera that couldn't take a usable photo for the permit without many attempts. The staff photographer that time was also mean, but we got our 1-year IDP's and got out ASAP. Last week, we needed new permits and went to the newer AAA location on Wadsworth. The good news: they have a different camera now, and the previous crude photographer woman wasn't there, so it only took one try apiece to get our photos taken. The bad news: don't expect professional or courteous service. The computer system was down, which seemed to completely disorient the 3-person staff. They said they couldn't take credit card payments -- no problem, we had a checkbook. We completed the paperwork, and showed our Colorado driver's licenses, but all 3 people were unexpectedly nasty to us, and they seemed confused, and it took them 20 minutes between them to complete the permits, which essentially involves gluing a photo to a booklet, and filling out our name, address, and birthdate info off of our Colorado licenses, not exactly a complicated procedure. The person who appeared to be in charge then said incredulously, "So NEITHER of you are AAA members?" No one had asked us either way up to that point, but as a 31-year AAA member, I showed her my membership card, and said, "we're BOTH members!" As you don't have to be a member to get an IDP from AAA, I'm not sure why they demonstrated such a misplaced, negative attitude towards paying customers (let alone long-term AAA members), and we had been pleasant and complacent from the beginning. They refused to give us a receipt after we paid for our permits. I realize the computer was down, but they couldn't even produce a handwritten receipt? In the end, we got our new IDP's, but my photo was glued on crooked (very sloppy job by the AAA staff), and the handwritten identification information was poorly written, which could be hard for a French police officer to read, which negates the entire reason for having an IDP. This AAA office will provide you an International Driver's Permit if you have patience and don't mind rude, insulting treatment by the staff. Don't expect a pleasant experience, as we've run into discourteous service twice now. Just go in, hope they can figure out how to take your picture and paste it into the IDP, pay your $$, and get out as quickly as you can. International travel is fun, but getting an IDP from this AAA office is an unpleasant prerequisite. I'm giving them 2 stars because we actually, finally did obtain the IDP's we came in for, but this place has no-stars customer treatment! read more
