Came in today at about noon 30 to pay for a delinquent DMV renewal cuz my tags expired 2 months ago. thank you God that the police did not give me a ticket or impound my vehicle. the people at the Triple A office are friendly and nice and very knowledgeable. they pointed out that I had not gotten the smog inspection which the renewal required but I had not read. I asked where the nearest smog inspection place was that was triple a certified and they said next door at Craig's automotive. Review to follow. I read some of these reviews and someone mentioned Donna yes indeed she is a gem calls leaves a message saying that my home owner insurance rate is going to go up and then never returns my call. I had a horrible experience with Whittier Branch I went in changed homeowners and auto to them and everything was great then once I signed up and they cashed the check, forget it suddenly no calls returned nothing. I was suppose to have a home inspection as part of homeowners policy I took time off work scheduled with the agent his last name was De Guzman he does not show up saying he had a flat tire. He says nothing about rescheduling I get a copy of my policy in the mail so figure everything is ok home inspection just formality. Then about 2 months later I get a letter from AAA underwriter that my homeowners policy is going to be cancelled because there is no record of a home inspection. I added my 16 year old son to our auto policy I had them run a projection of how much it would be when I added my son so I knew how much of increase I was looking at. When I added him the rate jumped way above what I was quoted. FIrst off the agent when I started the policy told me I would not have a rate increase for my son till he was 16 and a half which I thought was odd so I confirmed with him and he said AAA one of the only companies to have this policy, well that is not true my son got his license at about 16 and 1 month and the rate jumped immediately. I then looked at ways to lower my insurance and noticed my multi policy discount was not on my auto insurance. Multi Policy gone because they cancelled my homeowners because of no home inspection. Now get home inspection and after a couple of weeks still no change on my policy and get message from Donna that they want to raise my rate so I call the general number and find out even after home inspection was done pictures were not uploaded to underwriter so they cancelled the policy. Needless to say do not ever deal with Whittier AAA completely inept if you have issues call general number reps are professional and get the job done. read more

I purchased Safari/San Diego Zoo discount tickets and paid $157 2 tickets on one sheet of paper and misplaced it. Based on AAA policies, there's no refunds and based on the other end - safari park/zoo - they don't want to intervine. I was disappointed on how the policies are dealt with. As an unhappy customer might reconsider a different car insurance. It really doesnt save us money anyway, to begin with. read more

Auto club car insurance is totally non-responsive to even the simplest request. I have had to call over and over to try and get information. I cancelled my auto insurance and so has my whole family. I can't believe the POOR service from this company. When I changed my insurance carrier I was able to get much better coverage at a much better price. Auto club NEVER again. read more

I have never received such horrible customer. From the moment Shannon Knight called my mother in law's name, she was rude and just plain horrible. She had an attitude throughout the whole time she was " suppose to be helping us". If I could give negative stars, I would. I have been a AAA member for two years and have always received amazing customer services. I was shocked by the way she was talking to us. It was a hostile environment (caused by Shannon). We felt such disrespect by the way she was talking to us. The funny thing is moments before this happened I was trying to convince my mother in law to get a AAA membership, since I have always received amazing customer service. I was proven wrong today. I am guessing my mother in law will not be buying a membership after what Shannon put us through. Horrible customer service! read more

I have been to this office many times, and most of the employees are very friendly, except the Notary. She sits on no. 5. We have been twice, and she is as about as rude as you can get. Apparently she doesn't realize there are 50 states and you follow the rules of each state for your motorizations. She is a complete idiot. read more

Every other AAA location I have been to has been the most wonderful customer service. This Whittier location was terrible. The lady who sits in the back of the office in the DMV area (on the right side when facing that counter, brunette with tons of pictures drawn by kids and post-its that say "FUR") should not be in customer service. I admittedly screwed up by getting a smog check this year when I don't need one. Last year is when I had to start getting one for my registration and I thought that it was an annual process. I explained to her that I did this and since it's good for 2 years I was wondering if I could use this year's as the current one in the system. She yelled at me "you're not making any sense, I don't understand what you are even saying, you're confusing me. Do you even need your registration?!" I explained that yes, I need my registration which was about to expire at the end of December but was just wondering if I can somehow use the recent smog check certificate now. She again yelled at me "that's illegal!!" and acted like I just intentionally asked her to do something illegal. So I replied "look I don't know what the rules are and I am just asking you questions". "She started looking up my information in the system while huffing and puffing. Then she threw a form in front of me and started barking orders so loud and fast I don't even know what she was saying. My husband was outside with our infant who was asleep in the car and we needed to leave for a trip so I just said I would deal with this next week and left. There is NO reason to be rude to your customers! Your job is to answer questions, be helpful and if you don't understand the question asked of you then you need to do your part to better understand the customers questions or concerns. My question wasn't even difficult. I've asked other people and they get what I am saying. Not rocket science and I am sure I am not the first person to ask this question. AAA pays their employees very well and has great benefits so there are a LOT of people who would happily take this position and be friendly. It's fine to tell a customer no you can't do something but it's all in HOW you speak to them. I was really upset when I left. I have been sick, have a baby and my husband works long hours and we don't have any family nearby to help out, my mom and my aunt are both battling breast cancer that and the added stress of preparing for the holidays has made me one exhaused person dealing with a lot of stressful life things and all I did was go into this location trying to get my registration done and see if I could use the smog check certificate and was patiently waiting my turn in the waiting area and was then screamed at multiple times by this woman. I will keep our membership for the towing for emergencies but I will not use this location again after this. According to the reviews here, this is a common occurrence here which is unfortunate and tells me that management doesn't care about correcting this customer service problem. To all people reading this, go to another location if you need to go in person. I am in Pasadena often and will use that location. They have always been so kind and gracious there! read more

I love this place. Right next to my business. It's like having a mini DMV right next to you. This place is clean but can get busy in the afternoons. Their system is just awesome. Lots of room for sitting and watching TV. read more

this location is difficult to review because no one wants to wait in a lobby-ish setting while a woman comes out every so often with a name to be called. but you do it because you have to. and if i am comparing this location against the DMV, i would say that this location wins hands-down. because no matter how bad it gets at the AAA, the DMV will Always be worse. read more

I didn't see accurately updated information and the company lists that it's open on Yelp and other online publications. I also wasn't able to get to the AAA website. Only came here for a copy of my registration and I end up getting stuck here for longer than I needed to . Hire more people to work in the back . You have 30 million old folks here sitting in these chairs for hours . Come on now put more people in the back area or work efficiently . It shouldn't take forever and a day to print out documents .... This is the worst location and I will never return here ....that was why I tried to avoid the dmv!!!! This is pretty simple folks. Got a flat tire.Pull out the Triple AAA card----expired!! Doh! Call AAA, no problem, no hassle. Re-upped AND got them out in 18 minutes flat (pun intended). And even better than that is the young professional they send out from Hadley's Towing---Chris. He was cheerful, quick and efficient. Almost made me happy to have a flat! Hadley's should be happy to have an employee like Chris and Triple AAA should be happy to have Hadley's. read more

i have been on this planet for 58 years and rarely have i found a service that cares as much as these people do..i truly believe that they spare no expense when it comes to making my experience with them a most amazing one.. just the roadside service has been invaluable to me this year..i mean how many things do we purchase nowadays that make us feel like we didn't pay enough for the service they bend over backwards to provide for pennies on the dollar... i would challenge anyone to find me a similar service that could come anywhere close to competing...if your not with AAA your cheating yourself.. read more

I cancelled my AAA membership on the spot after almost 25 YEARS! The customer service was an abomination, and so many rules that they have to abide by through the DMV, that honestly, it's just as good to make an DMV online appointment to renew my vehicles' registration. I hardly ever use my AAA services, but pay my membership through auto pay every year. This first time I go into the office to ask for assistance (and of course pay for my vehicles' registration), I get stone-faced looks. It's almost as if everyone is shell-shocked, and they forgot to take a customer service training 1-0-1 course. They made no attempt to fix the problem, and just asked me for more, and more, documentation. And the receptionists up front made assumptions regarding why I was there. And, when I corrected them, they still repeated the same thing. They sent me to the back, and when I said, I had never been there before, the person was short with me. I don't know what's going on, but managers need to step up training and customer services. AAA means AWFUL ATTENTION & ATTITUDE. read more

I have AAA Plus membership card which entitles members to upgraded automotive services above and beyond the regular membership card. One benefit is 100 free miles towing. I have not needed the towing benefit until August 2015. I needed my car towed from my storage unit to my house. I contacted AAA, told them exactly where I was towing from and towing to and the rep. said the tow IS covered under my Plus membership. Of course this call was recorded by AAA as is all their calls. A fews days later I arrived very early at the storage unit and called AAA for the tow. The rep. now said the tow was not covered for a free tow. Also a supervisor agreed and said the tow was not covered! She further explained if the car is towed to a repair facility and not home it will be covered for free. I told her about my call a few days prior and they should listen to the tape. Well, the supervisor listened to that prior taped conversation and admitted that the AAA rep was wrong to tell me the tow would be free. And guess what AAA did? NOTHING!!! NADA!! TOUGH LUCK SUCKER!! I would have to pay. Their so called (free) towing would now cost me $150 through AAA. I needed the car removed or I would be charged another month storage fee. I scrambled around and finally found a neighbors relative that had a car transport trailer which cost me less money. AAA threw me under the bus and didn't honor their member benefits. When I signed up and paid extra for Plus membership there was nothing written about excluding tows home. I would like my towing fee reimbursed by AAA. read more

Went to pay DMV renewal for vehicle that was in Non Operation status. Lady who initially processed the transaction told me I needed to get current Proof of Insurance, so I had to call my Insurance Company and had them fax documents to the office. In the meantime, I was put back on 'hold' and asked to wait in the DMV transactions area. Got the fax, told person at the counter I was ready but had to sit and wait for a long time - in the meantime everyone else was being called and helped. After a while a gentleman approached me - name tag showed him as 'Brian' - and said he noticed I've been there for some time. He asked if anybody else could help, and told him my situation and in less than 5 minutes, the transaction was completed. He offered me other information (AAA discounts/locations, freeway reference maps, etc.) before I left, and thanked him for the service. Appreciate what Brian did (hopefully I got his name right, worked in counter 8?) ... he noticed a customer in 'distress' and actually came over to help out. read more

After many years of auto insurance through AAA, we decided to get home insurance for our new house through AAA in Whittier in August. Everything seemed to go well and we received the appropriate certificates for home and earthquake insurance, covering us for a year, paid out of our escrow account. So this afternoon, we received a notice of cancellation and termination because all of the information and photos required had not been received, although an inspector from AAA had been out to the house and took pictures, etc. The agent, his boss and his assistant were not available when I called this afternoon and never called back. We did manage to talk to someone at an 888 number and was told the info was received late (why??) and they were looking into it with probable reinstatement of the insurance eventually, but who knows. Do NOT use AAA for home insurance. We had State Farm before and never had any problems. They seem to be okay for auto insurance. read more

This company is the worst... my brother was robbed today and the robbers took his car keys .. so we called AAA at about 10.44 p.m to send us a truck to tow the car back to our house ... they told us that they would arrive in about 45 minutes ... an hour passed and no one came so we called them again and the employee started asking these stupid questions and talking bullshit for about half an hour then he told us that they will send us a trucand that will arrive in about 45 minutes... finally the truck arrived at 1:15 exactly after 2 and a half hours from when we first called and you should see the special tools they use to tow a car ... they have nothing !!! They will rip your car apart while trying to tow it !! .... this is completly unacceptable ... i hate it when i have to deal with such dishonest companies and what really makes me mad is that they were so rude in talking to us and they did not even bother to apologize for thier mistake ... i wanna give them 0 out of 5 ... my advise is to never deal with them ... NEVER EVER !!! read more
