Sounds ridiculous right? That's what happened when we were approached by the store manager, Tesean, and accosted for having a service animal. The dog is there for life saving measures. He is NOT an emotional support dog and there is a major difference, specifically almost $60k in training difference. We tried to educate Tesean Millington on the severity of him insisting we were breaking the facility's policy of no pets. We calmly informed him the very act of him asking us for documentation is a violation of my partner's rights. He persisted and instead of standing down to take the time to go research to verify the truths we were explaining to him, he kept talking over us and asserting we can't have our dog there. He even took his harassment to another level by afterwards calling to report us to his superiors claiming we threatened him. So now refusing to show you paperwork you have no right to ask for and asserting if you continue to harass us we'll report you to ADA is threatening and being belligerent. I'll add if that were true, if it means the protecting the health and safety of my loved ones, I will undoubtably defend them with the utmost passion. My dog was wearing his vest and leash at all times with the exception of him laying down. He is now 14 years old and having the jacket on while down impedes his job to alert. When I showed him the service vest literally laying next to the dog and informed him he has a job as a service animal, Tesean did not move on. He continued to harass us. It's absolutely disgusting the behavior Tesean Millington displayed and his actions prove he is manipulative and takes no accountability for the mistreatment of a disabled Veteran. Shame on him for lying on us in the interest of being right when he's clearly wrong. Thank you to his counterpart, Diana, who I spoke with on the phone who had compassion something Tesean clearly lacks.
