Thankfully, Yelp absolutely came through clutch (as it usually does) and led us to Our Breakfast Place. We intentionally tried to time things to beat the post-church crowd and I think we mostly succeeded... though there was still a little bit of a wait. Thankfully, this place is absolutely worth the wait! The restaurant was bustling and busy but still had a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. The menu was extensive with tons of tempting breakfast options, the prices were very reasonable to me, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our waitress was so kind and friendly and even the women seated nearby struck up conversation with us while we waited for our food. It just had that warm, community-oriented breakfast spot vibe. I ordered the blueberry lemon pancakes which were a seasonal special and wow, they were fantastic. Sweet but not overly so, fluffy, flavorful, and the combo also came with an egg and I chose two slices of bacon. All delicious and certainly plenty filling. The coffee was strong too, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, this was a five-star breakfast experience and the kind of local spot I love discovering while traveling. If I'm ever back in Waco, I'd happily return.

The service is incredibly friendly and efficient. The food is stick to your ribs filling and tasty. The portion sizes are worthy of every Texas joke one can conjure up. Best of all, they make their own in-house Gluten Free pancakes and serve Arnold Palmer's with a carafe for at the table refills. I love this place!

The menu here is not expansive but it offers a very nice selection of tantalizing dishes. We opted for the fried chicken tacos. Being old timers with small appetites we customarily share an entree, but when I learned that an order consists of two, not the customary three tacos, I ordered a plate for each of us. Big mistake! Hahaha. These tacos are humongous! I'm afraid I totally failed to fulfill my duties as a responsible Yelper and take a photo of the presented plate. Attached is a pic of one, but the pic does not adequately provide for you a sense of the taco's actual size. We each had to work to finish one each. This creation is a work of taco art. A taco masterpiece. The tortilla appears to be house-made. The large pieces of chicken breast, perfectly seasoned and breaded; and crisply fried rest on a bed of some of the tastiest cole slaw ever. The fried chicken is then topped with a couple sauces that sing with the chicken and finished with house made hot honey. This taco is worth the drive to Hico from FTW for lunch. Service was once again very pleasant and attentive. And as I think I said in my previous review, Owners/Chefs Austin and Shannon have done a wonderful job of curating a welcoming, warm and authentic ambiance in this historic building.

This place is a true gem and absolutely worth the trip. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Nestled in downtown Corsicana in a building dating back to the early 1900s, Mita's exudes a trendy yet nostalgic vibe with a fantastic menu to match. We ordered the Chai Tea Latte and the Apple Christmas Tea. They offer several seating areas perfect for conversation, relaxation, or hanging out. A standout feature is their book section, which highlights local authors and adds a unique charm to the space. My wife loved her Chai Tea Latte, calling it delicious, while my Apple Christmas Tea was hands down the best cup of tea I've ever had. We ended up staying for lunch because of doing some remote work. I had the Bacon and Spinach quiche which was amazing! Cristina had the Chicken salad that came with a cucumber salad. She said it was awesome! I would come back just to the cucumber salad! You don't just visit Mita's--you experience it. Well done! If you're ever in Corsicana, Mita's Coffee House is a must-stop destination.

We opted for the fried fish. I got the SWAI, a type of white fish and my sister ordered the Cod. She absolutely loved it and that's saying a lot since she isn't a huge Seafood/fish lover. Mine was good. Loved the light batter. I also got the pea salad, beets, cabbage, Fried tatters, and a side of the chicken spaghetti to go. Pea salad was delicious as usual and of course I just loved the beets. The cabbage was seasoned with the right amount of bacon. The taters were ok, but of course I tried some of the chicken spaghetti and it was to die for...one of my favorites. My sis had mashed potatoes and white cream gravy and lived it. She also had their corn and was very happy. We both had dessert, cheese cake and Coconut cream. Both were delicious. We had plenty of left overs. Service is great and everyone there is super friendly.
