I wanted to give a better review than this. When our home caught fire and we lost almost everything, what we were able to save meant a lot to us. My husband, kids, and I dug through piles of our belongings and memories that were charred and mostly ashes to find what we could save. The basement was thankfully untouched. One employee used a sponge and wiped areas to check for soot. None found. Said that side would not be touch and our items would remain. The other side is our utility room and that would be packed for storage as repairs had to be made in there. Upstairs on the main level, there was more so water damage, but I clearly marked 3 large cabinets and their contents to be saved. I felt that was reassurance enough. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Until I found out everything on the basement side of the my lower level was thrown out in the trash because of "lack of communication' and between this company and the other company working on the house, neither really wanted to own it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] so after I gave them a list of what they threw away (which was HARDLY any of it, just a list of maybe 8-9 things) they both gave me a fraction of what was thrown away, that should NOT have been thrown away. But I accepted it as human error and moved on. Here we are in August and moving back in. This company is moving my belongings in from storage and I am checking the list with photos they provided. We are missing 8-10 boxes they listed on this list with photos showing they packed them and inventoried them. These are mainly items from the cabinets I marked as things to save. I have the cabinets, now where are the contents? [[HIGHLIGHT]]After having to hunt someone down for an answer, I get told that the company made the decision to leave those boxes at the house and not put them in storage, so who knows what happened to them and that's what their special abbreviations mean that customers wouldn't know.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So now I an out even MORE money. A lot of these things are not items I can replace. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I feel completely brushed off, discredited, and the fact they literally show on THEIR inventory list them packing them away into storage and I get told, "OH WELL!"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This company is a TOTAL joke, they do not care about your items or the fact you just lost almost everything because, hey, we can help you lose EVEN MORE! Zero compassion on this one. I cut this business slack and grace on the first several thousand dollars they threw away, the second time and being shrugged off was a slap in the face. Thanks guys. My basement was flooded so I received a referral from my insurance company about Aaction Home Repairs located in Millersville, Maryland. They began work in late May of 2022 and job ended in October 2022. I understand that testing of asbestos flooring tiles were needed during the mitigation work so this took time, but in my opinion this aspect of the job took way too long (4.5 months) to complete. I felt pure frustration and shared my complaints with my insurance company and the company. The insurance adjuster had agreed the timing of completion of the job was excessive. There we're weeks that had passed by with zero contact from management to inform me of updates as to why the delayed progressions took so long. And Keith, the owner, was not available to address my concerns. Let's say the beginning mitigation work took most of the duration of the entire workload. On a good note, I found workers to be pleasant and competent which meant a lot when dealing with in-home repairs. When the job had moved towards completion in the final projects, the company had a newly hired project mgr named John W. John W. was a godsend. He had a willingness to listen and address my concerns from the get go and once the job was completed which was within two weeks, it looked beautiful. John W. is a serious asset to this company and he gets a 5 star rating while the company gets a 3 star rating. Finally, minus the overdrawn delayed work activity periods and company's lack of communication skills that could have informed me of any job delays, I can recommend this company to others who are in need of home repairs with some caution attached. Know in advance of the time duration of your work project and if complaints and phone calls go by unaddressed or unanswered by the company, and if applicable, don't hesitate to get your insurance adjuster involved to help resolve your job concerns. read more

Be Aware! This company is extremely unprofessional and very deceiving. Do Not Hire Them!!!! I have not had a worse experience with any company before. I do not recommend it! The project started off fine, they are very convincing salespeople to your trust for the first few days. However, it stops there, once they are fully committed to the job you lose all professional aspects and customer service. Their communication is absolutely terrible. They will duck and doge you until it's time for payment, that the only time they reach out. The people who you expect to take responsibility like the "manager" or "owner" is never available and practically refuses to talk with customers to resolve things. There excuse for everything is that they are all in meetings, no matter what time or what day. I literally had someone tell me that my project manager was in a meeting without even knowing who my project manager was at the time, and once I called her out on it she apologized and said that she would try to contact him smh. Believe it or not that's not the worst of it. We invested a lot of money in a large project with them and they treated us like we were an inconvenience. I even recommended a neighbor to them at the very beginning only to feel the need to go back to my neighbor and apologize in advance for sending this company their way. My project was only posed to take a few weeks, they started back in February and we are now in at mid-May May and they are just finishing. It's now been about two days after it has been finished and my roof is buckling, and siding is coming loose and who knows what else will come up in a week or so. But one thing for sure because of my experience I would rather call someone else to fix it than to call them back here and that should say a lot! I spent so much time throughout this project trying to get them to just do the job we paid them to do and through it all, it was very stressful, and I would not wish this experience on no one. No one should have to go through this especially when you're paying thousands of dollars. I had a fan installed, they left live exposed electrical wiring in my home for an entire day, and it took 3 different "electricians" just to get it right. The first electrician cam about 8am by the third electrician coming it was about 9pm. I have two toddlers in my home, my husband and I was practically forced to sit and monitor the exposed live wires until they finally got someone to handle it after hours of calling and complaining. Towards midway of our project they order the wrong material and to be honest I can go on with the list of issues, but it is absolutely draining. Out of all of this, they put us through we still did our part with getting them a contracted referral for over 5k and they didn't even keep their word with their referral "discount" which was only posed to be 5% off smh how sad. September 2020, our roof was leaking rainwater. The previous owner put new shingles on top of old shingles but did not replace the flashing around the fireplace, so rainwater was entering around the flashing, running down the roof between the new and old shingles then leaking into the living room. The representative from Aaction that showed up to do the initial inspection and consultation was super nice and friendly and drove a truck with "Aaction Home Repairs" written on the side. But when the workers showed up to complete the repair, I was handed a business card from a different company. Aaction simply hired a subcontractor to perform the work. They replaced the flashing along with a row of shingles around the chimney in August 2020. In May 2022, our ceiling leaked again in the exact same spot in the exact same way. I called Aaction Home Repairs to inquire about the warranty for their work, as it was less than 2 years since the work had been completed, and I was told that they only provide a 12-month warranty. I was expecting them to at least send a representative to check the quality of the previous work and to see if something new had occurred, but it was a hard no which was quickly followed by an offer to write a new quote to fix the leaking roof. To be fair, it's hard to warrant work done by subcontractors instead of your own direct employees. Anyway, I suggest double-checking warranty information before entering a contract. I have a rental property that needs a new carpet. John Sun missed out on the first appointment (I waited for more than an hour because I don't live there) and he didn't bother to apologize. Then, he asked me to go to his store to pick the carpet grade and color, but when I was there, the store was closed (during normal business hours). He didn't even say sorry. Then, he sent me the quote and in the evening before the scheduled installation, he sent me another quote. When asked why the price increased, he said he forgot to add the staircase despite the fact that first quote clearly says the staircase is included. I said nothing and accepted his errors graciously. Then, in the morning of the scheduled installation, I made an error by sending the deposit to a wrong recipient, and he got so infuriated that he cancelled the order and hung up on me. Terrible customer service for a quote request that left us hanging in a very difficult situation (to be clear, this issue was related to the need for a quote request and not actual services performed). They missed an important deadline (well, it seems like they didn't even try) for an estimate to help with negotiating the purchase of a home (the request for credits based on the work to be done related to an extensive home inspection performed by another company)... which resulted in us entering the negotiations with no valid, reliable information on the work to be done... with the exception of a guess for the cost of repairing the roof based on a review of the property from ... one photo... from... zillow (can you imagine yourself in this situation? I had to "beg and plead" for a guess on the cost of the roof because they had missed all of the deadlines... which meant... even a guess based on one photo from zillow was better than my completely uninformed guess -- since i'm not a roofer... nor a general contractor...). I received a glowing referral for them from our agent and agent's broker... boy, I wish I had just gone somewhere else. I should have picked up the clues when after several phone calls requesting an update there was no update to give other than "they're working on it... and I haven't heard back..." I'd avoid calling these guys if you're in a jam or need something right away. I REALLY WISH THEY HAD JUST BEEN HONEST WITH ME AND SAID SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF "WE'D LOVE TO HELP BUT WE DON'T HAVE THE TIME..."... ugh! By the way: they were unresponsive to a quote request (which they agreed to quote!) for fixing issues found in the home inspection report (performed by a different company)... AND just to be clear, while some of the quotable items requested were smaller, handyman-ish types of initiatives... the very next thing to discuss (once I was informed enough for negotiations) was for quoting a 60K+ renovation and remodel. Seriously? I don't understand what goes on in the minds of business owners who are turning away multi-thousand dollar jobs. Maybe this was small potatoes to them... but it was massively important to me... If I had to guess on the total cost to fix everything, they failed to be responsive to over 100k worth of business... really?... Back in July, I had contacted Aaction to repair my kitchen floor. They had done the floor and a few other projects in 2015, and had done a good job. There was a lot of back and forth about quotes, and it seemed to be easier to replace the whole floor, so we went with that. After waiting for the material and payments to go through, Aaction hired a private contractor to fix our floor. Mid August they came out, but couldn't get our fridge out (apparently not on wheels), so said they had to come back...they came back 2 weeks later (after alot of phone calls). After they finally finished, we noticed that part of our hardwood flooring between the kitchen/dining room had been cracked somehow. I let the manager know right away...after much nagging/many texts he said they could come the following week. It ended up being a Saturday. I asked what time, he said he'd get back to me...he never did and they never came. Over trying to get a hold of them, not worth it. Aaction was hired to perform repair work to my home due to water damage. This company lacked transparency. If for example I inquired about when work would begin I could never get an answer. On 11/21/2019 I contacted Aaction to make arrangement to pay the $1000 deductible. I understood that I would pay the deductible first, then the remaining balance upon completion of the covered work. When I gave Jeff my American Express card with the intent to charge $1000.00 only I provided my information over the phone. I discovered via fraud alerts to my credit card account that aaction had charged $5200. I immediately informed aaction that they did not have my approval for that amount. I was provided reimbursement from my homeowner's insurance and there was absolutely no reason for aacton to use my personal credit card for work performed. They clearly accepted this job knowing beforehand that they could not perform the work within the scheduled timeframe. As soon as they accepted the offer their Project Manager Jeff went on vacation until 12/23/2019. Aaction accepted job on 11/18/2019 and actual work didn't begin until the day after Christmas 12/26/2019. The work began however no one on the project could answer questions or address any of my concerns until Jeff returned two weeks later. Jeff never contacted me upon returning from vacation and on the day after Christmas a work crew showed up to my house unannounced. NO one informed me they were coming. The project manager came to my home unannounced on another occasion and again didn't communicate or engage with me the homeowner and he had a team working in my home. I had concerns that I could not get addressed because he was not forthcoming. On 1/2/2020 Jeff barged into my home without knocking or announcing who he was as he proceeded to enter my basement area. To be honest at the time he came in my home I thought he was an intruder and was going to dial 911. I didn't know who this man was entering my home without ringing or identifying himself. I felt unsafe and threatened by his presence. I have Ring and ADT surveillance on my home and it captured all this activity. It was very unsettling. I requested that he not ever be allowed into my home again. On two separate occasions without my permission and knowledge aaction fraudulently used my American Express card. The first transaction on 12/21/19 in the amount off $5201. The second transactions on 1/22/19/20 in the amounts of $5201,$5201, $724. read more
