When he came into the house for the estimate and again when I asked him to go upstairs to look at a wall I needed painted, he noticed that my shoes were off, and he took off his shoes without being asked. I have never met another contractor that does this, and it is definitely appreciated. It shows that the attitude is 100% customer-first, not just about getting the job done asap and getting out. 2. When I asked him to paint a few extra small spots in the house he agreed to it without increasing his price. The quote James gave me was already on the cheaper side compared to a few other contractors I had contacted, but it was again very much appreciated that he saw an opportunity to help and not an opportunity to make more money. 3. I had based the color of the paint that my walls needed on the other walls in the house - turns out my walls are not entirely uniform. After buying 2 gallons of paint that didn't match the walls I needed painted (one from HD, one from Dunn-Edwards), James said that he would take care of it and I came back to my walls looking perfect, even though he didn't have the exact paint color. This process is very labor intensive, and makes your room very dusty. Jaime, the business owner made sure all of our stuff was properly covered to avoid getting the dust. The team worked with high precision, and beautifully restored the walls. I had two doorways in my condo to be archly, with the top part opens. Jaime did a beautiful job for this, as you can see in the picture. All the workers are very polite and careful handling stuff. I loved that every morning they showed up on time, they were never late or too early, and got what needed to be done for the day done by 4pm sharp, EVERYDAY. Great commitment. Told him it was just a couple of items and he asked what they cost. Told him they probably were around $100. He then said that it'd be about $300 for them to repaint the items. He then proceeded to LECTURE me on the cost of supplies, the paint, the man-hours. I was really taken aback by this attitude. He made me feel like I had imposed on them to get a quote. I apologized to him for wasting his time and ended the call. So, I would suggest that if you have what you might consider to be a small project, estimate what you may think the cost would be. If it isn't several hundred dollars at a minimum, then you may want to consider doing it yourself, like I am. Cannot judge their work, but their attitude most likely reflects their work.

The negative reviews on here are extremely accurate I can assure you because they describe my encounters with him perfectly. There's obviously a pattern quite apparent on here. I hired him to paint my kitchen cabinetry and walls and it's been an absolute nightmare. The paint is oddly fragile and is crumbling/scraping off within days of him finishing all over the place. I've never seen paint act this way. Also many areas have an orange peel very rough texture which I will post pictures of. His edging is deplorable and I've had to have him touch up numerous areas. He's got a million excuses that this is somehow to be expected but it's all BS. He knows it. I've actually taken a cabinet door to Dunn Edward's where he bought the paint and showed the paint specialist in the back what was happening and he was shocked. Said that absolute should not be happening and said my painter definitely did something wrong. I've had multiple other paint companies come to my house to quote fixing it and it needs to be completely redone. Everyone says they've never seen paint crumble off like this and something was done incorrectly. Albert has come back twice to re-spray cabinets and frames that are scratched and failing, but it continues to happen and he has zero answer or resolution for me. Also, he does not re-spray like he tells me he's going to. He sprays a couple things and then goes around touching up all the scratched off paint with a paint brush which I've decided to stop having him do because it's very poorly done and leaving globby paint patches everywhere. I will do it myself at this point because I can do a better job than he's doing. At this point after conceding a few different times that something is not right and sending the paint to the lab to be tested to see if it's bad he has decided to stand firm that nothing is wrong with the job and if I wouldn't go around scratching the paint then it'd be fine. Well I can assure you I am not the problem and the only reason I went around scratching the paint was to test its durability once I realized something was severely wrong within days of him finishing the job. It's been two months now and nothings have not changed with the paint. It crumbles and the slightest bump into it completely crumbles the paint and shows the previous paint color underneath (which by the way was done by a different painter and lasted beautifully for 6+ years so I know what a good job looks like). Albert is at this point willing to take zero responsibility for the failed job he's done. I've asked him what I'm supposed to do at this point and he stares at me and says he doesn't know. I've asked him to give me even half of what I paid him back so I could put it towards redoing the kitchen and he absolutely refuses to return any money. Continuing his endless round of excuses and refusal to take any responsibility. I am now stuck. Not sure what to do, but I'm done dealing with Albert at this point that I can assure you of.

Most likely happened when they were carrying up the plywood to the attic. They told us about one chunk in one wall that we'll have to fix ourselves, but I didn't notice the others until later. One chunk on the ceiling they tried to patch and paint over but it looks like crap. Used the wrong color paint and didn't patch it very well. The scuffs are all still noticeable. Also noticed a small hole and crack in the ceiling of the room below where they were working in the attic. We just had work done in our condo by Steve and his team. We wanted to utilize our attic space for storage by laying down plywood flooring, moving some wiring and A/C ducting, and adding lighting. Our estimate was detailed, on-time, and very reasonable. We are expecting a baby daughter any day and wanted to get the job done before her arrival, so Steve and Tashia worked with us to get the job scheduled earlier. Steve arrived exactly when he said he would, finished the job exactly when he said he would, and charged exactly what he said he would. He even threw in a few little things here and there for free. We are very happy with our experience.

Looking back, it's hard to believe this actually happened…read more Hired Hector to do some minor stucco, plywood and drywall repairs. Initially he was responsive, enthusiastic and seemed to be a great guy. His price was very high, but it was a small project, I wanted it done quickly, he was available so I gave him the go-ahead. All the signs were looking good, and then disaster struck. Before he installed the plywood, I asked him to secure some metal nail plates over the studs. Essentially, these protect electrical wiring that is run within the studs from accidentally being penetrated once the wall is installed and someone doesn't realise where the wire is. The plates are metal strips so they stop any nails or screws from going through and damaging the hidden wiring. Everyone knows that nail plates should be installed with short screws. At least I thought everyone did. After he finished for the day, we noticed problems with some of the electrical circuits. Eventually discovered that, instead of using short screws, he had used full length nails, long enough to reach and damage the very wiring that the plates are designed to protect! He managed to nick 3 circuits, so they had to be repaired. This is a mistake that not even the most inexperienced handyman would make. It shows a fundamental lack of understanding about basics of construction, not to mention common sense. But it got worse. Since he'd already applied the plywood wall, I had to have him cut an access panel, so we could access the wiring to deal with the issues. Instead of using a shallow cutting tool, he decided to use a circular saw, cut too deep, managed to nick a 4th circuit, but even more seriously cut through the back of the main electrical panel. By cutting too deep, he literally came within a quarter inch of cutting into the main electrical bus bar, which was charged. According to my electrician, that would have caused an explosion that would likely have decapitated him and severely injured me as a bystander. Again, mistakes that even a rookie wouldn't make, showing at minimum recklessness if not outright incompetence. The irony is, while he was cutting. I questioned his use of the saw and offered him my multitool which has a shallow blade, but he said he was fine, had set the blade shallow and knew what he was doing, so I let him go ahead. Ended up having to get my electrician out to open up another part of the wall and fix 4 damaged circuits. The icing on the cake, so to speak, was when I fired him and asked him to leave my property. He refused. Not because he wasn't paid, he already had $2500 and hadn't yet done that much work. Not because he left tools on my property, because he hadn't. He just simply refused to go! He then started yelling that I was threatening him, even though I was not, and if you saw us side-by-side you would see how ridiculous it is to think that anyone with my physique could threaten him. In any event, he decided to call the cops on me, not sure why. I called the cops too. When they arrived, they promptly established that I was not threatening him, and of course he had no right to remain on my property, so they escorted him off. My neighbour came round afterwards, to tell me she heard what was going on and was truly dismayed for me. Part of me was looking around for a hidden camera, because this sort of thing generally doesn't happen in Orange County. Anyhow, suffice it to say that I don't recommend Hector. He comes across as a nice guy initially, but the risks are not worth it.

They were able to accommodate my time request, showed up on time and completed the work in a timely manner. In addition they also left the work space clean and were friendly especially to my lunatic dogs. If we have other repairs we probably would call the handyman service again.
