Easy to talk to, and I think he lives at his office because he always answered my email so promptly. We closed today and are truly thankful for him and Green Mortgage NW.

I waited to write the review since the COVID-19 pandemic was in full force at the time of my initial query. While I was very disappointed to have not received any responses to my initial inquiries, I was VERY impressed to have received a personal response on Yelp within minutes of my posting my original review, apologizing for my not having received any responses, and asking for supplemental information so that they could investigate and try to find a root cause. They checked their systems and couldn't find my contact attempts. Their demonstrated concern for potential customers was very evident, as was their professionalism in taking the time to write a thorough and thoughtful response as well as their desire to find and fix the root cause. I'm not sure when or if I'll be in the market for a mortgage broker service again, but if I am, I'll definitely give Green Mortgage Northwest a shot before I contact anybody else based on their excellent response.

This is illegal. Our attorney caught this error, created documents asking the bank to correct the account and requested that we physically go in. So we did, but the Branch Manager, Jacob Pilling, refused to do so, even though the legal trustee was present, and Homestreet had a copy of the Trust, which showed the individual was NOT a Trustee. Jacob required us to create a document to release the "so called" Trustee. Our attorney was appalled at the request, yet executed this. After over two frustrating hours of dealing with Jacob, and unnecessary legal fees, the account was corrected. My elderly 89 year old father was exhausted from the confrontation. The Branch Manager, Jacob Pilling never apologized or thanked us for our business. In fact, he left without so much as a word before we even finished signing all documents. A few days later we withdrew all funds and closed the account. We could not trust Homestreet with our funds and did not want to contend with such rude treatment.

Because of that, I tolerated all kinds junk fees, hassles, and nonsense, all because I was so glad to have the safe deposit box. Well guess what? After just a couple of years, they told me that they are just stealing back all the safe deposit boxes anyway. If I had known they were going to do that, I never would have paid all those junk fees to stay with Chase, plus I never even got a prorated refund for the rent I had already put toward the box. This is a brazen scam, and I will be submitting it to a class action law firm.

Chase bank in general and KC in particular now has the undisputed bottom of the list. No one, absolutely no one, either on-line or in store could help me with a problem I was having with auto pay. Been to the store twice and called CS multiple times. Not only did they not have any idea how to help me but friendliness was not in their vocabulary. Unfortunately I cannot go anywhere else because it is tied in with my Subaru Lease Agreement. Since I also have a Chase credit card on auto-pay, they would not allow me to use the same bank account for both. I only have one bank account. Ridiculous.

The PDX Home Loan team are not just great loan officers, they are great human beings. They are personable, hard working, communicative, proactive and make the loan process, which can sometimes be frustrating, transparent and enjoyable. I refer all my new clients to James and his team and will continue doing so for many years to come. I truly care about my clients and it feels great to know they are in the best of hands with the PDX Home Loan Team.

Man, what can I even say about James Adair? If you are reading this review wondering whether or not…read moreyou should work with him, YOU SHOULD. HE IS AWESOME. I was an incredibly anxious, first-time homebuyer in 2014. I was terrified of the financing falling through because of a tight timeline. My husband and I were attempting to bump a contingent offer and everything was on the line. We were out of a month-to-month apartment, and if things fell through with our financing, we'd lose our dream home AND have nowhere to live. I was quitting the worst job of my life to start a new one, and was working a lot of hours. Long story short: James' team made the entire process easy and seamless. Working with someone local was paramount. When I made a few mistakes with documentation and paperwork, I was able to just drive it over to their office to make it right in less than 24 hours. They even stayed after hours to make sure I could drop things off. They were comforting and reassuring and really listened to me, and most importantly, they got the job done. Now, fast forward 6 years later. I'm very thankful for the equity I've built in my house and the updates James still sends me about it! I find his emails legitimately helpful and they keep me motivating to look at the big picture of my finances. I can call him to ask his advice about financial instruments and how different choices might impact my property value upon eventual sale. He still listens sincerely without rushing, even when there's no immediate profit in it for him. James is in this business of the long game. He will help you buy this house and, if he can, your next house and the one after that. He's a relationship lender in the truest possible sense and I would send any close friend or immediate family member to him without hesitation.
