Predatory podiatry practice. Stay far away from this place. I went because my foot was hurting, and…read moreafter x-rays, the doctor came back into the room and told me, "good news, your insurance covers a pair of orthotics a year." So I, naively believing him, went ahead with the custom orthotics. I asked the front desk what I'd be responsible for paying, and they told me "if the doctor says it's covered, it's covered." I come back for my follow-up appointment, get the insoles, everything is fine, and then a surprise bill comes in the mail a month later. NOBODY at the practice had felt the need to inform me that these insoles were SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. Not the doctor, not the front desk staff. Nobody bothered to run my insurance and let me know how much I'd be paying. So I'm stuck on the hook for $388 for insoles I don't need that much and wouldn't have gotten if I had known how much they cost. I am very frustrated that I was unable to make an informed decision- even if I had known how much my insurance was going to cover, I had no way of knowing the total cost of the insoles because they didn't care to tell me. I had to call the billing specialist seven times in order to get ahold of her and then she told me I was out of luck, basically because I'd signed a form saying I would pay. The thing that form *didn't* include was the total cost of the insoles. I feel tricked and I'm sure they're making a killing hawking unnecessary insoles to every person who comes through their door. Plus, my chiropractor did a better job of diagnosing the problem just by manipulating my foot. The young podiatrist I saw at Dr. Cohen's practice basically diagnosed me with "your foot hurts there." Yeah, duh.

Messages Left both via the answering system and website aren't responded to. After finally reaching the actual Doctor to schedule an emergency visit (busted stitch), I was never provided the office location as the website, Google, and answering system all provide conflicting information. That said, I still have yet to be seen or even followed up with to gain clarity on the miscommunication, care instruction, or path forward. Having never experienced such from a provider, I'm not exactly sure what to call the experience other than what it is/was, unprofessional and unfortunate.
