He then worked 30 minutes on my washer only to tell me that I needed a new one (5 year warranty ran out 3 months ago) and due $160. He acted like he is the only person in the world that knows anything about appliances. I asked for suggestions on which washers needed less repairs- and he said Maytag is Ok but not great (I have always used Maytag), he recommended front load. I took his advice and ordered a front load that he needed to return and put my washer and dryer on separate sides- another $300. I also purchased 5 outlet surge protectors for $60 and he said he would deduct from the bill- he did not as he said the dryer vent cost that much- DON'T think so! Sure he charged the next person $60 each when they were only $12 each. He returned on Sunday. The back door was open buy he walked in without any acknowledgement like he owned the place and started working! Even my husband with dementia recognized how inappropriate this man is. I couldn't wait for him to leave- knowing I had to own my mistake by hiring him (BTW- the original owners were awesome- this is a family thing). Wrote the check for $300 and he left only to call me back and SAID "I left a REDBULL in your freezer- I forgot to get it! What the heck was he doing in my freezer anyway?? VERY LOUD AND INAPPROPRIATE.... Now, I heard from two different friends that they wish I had asked them for recommendations- too late for me but hopefully not for you. I was surprised and pleased when Eddie Welch said he would be able to come over that day around 2:00 pm. He finally arrived @ 5:30 , talked very loudly and went off on tangents unrelated to fixing my dryer. I excused myself so he would work on my machine. Over the next two hours he gave mixed messages about potential causes , whether the dryer was reparable due to needing a hard-to-find part and the expected cost of repair. His attitude was somewhat demanding and controlling. When he left he said he would try to find the needed part for the blower wheel which was the problem and that he would call at noon the next day to let me know if he was successful and whether or not I wanted to continue or just get another machine.....the dryer was in parts. He asked to be paid for his time and I foolishly gave him a check for $200. The next day he said he might have found a blower wheel in his garage that might fit and would be coming over. It did not fit . He told me to look and see if I could find the part and suggested I look online. He also said it would be another $300 to put on the part( if it could be found) and put the machine back together. After he left I realized he had taken the blower wheel from my machine as well as the one he brought over. I felt like I was being conned.The next day I contacted the machine company and was able to find another wheel and the "mystery" piece for $35 which included shipping. I texted Eddie and told him I decided to go another way and that no further contact was needed. I hope this will help prevent someone else going through a situation with Eddie Welch.

The quality of all appliances, generators, power tools, lawn and garden etc. are not 1st quality that you would expect if you bought straight from the manufacturer, usually 2nd tier. I have personal experience with a $12,000.00 generator that quit after 19 hours. Was supposed to last a bit longer, all hours were from weekly cycling. Generac refused to replace the whole unit only replaced the motor. Not really satisfactory but was stonewalled after that. Lowe's saw no responsibility. I would encourage everyone to think twice before purchasing from Lowe's. All big box stores are the same, in my opinion and experience.

However, after being unable to repair the issue, I was told from the technician that on the initial visit they could not reproduce the noise and therefore could not determine what was wrong. They then shifted the blame back onto me, despite the fact that the noise had already been reproduced and documented during their initial visit. The washing machine was ultimately not fixed, yet I was still charged for the service. My biggest issue is not simply that they were unable to make the repair, but that their explanation contradicts what happened during the initial appointment and what is documented on their own receipt. I would not recommend Mr. Appliance based on my experience. I expected an honest diagnosis and an effective repair, but instead I was left with the same problem, out the service charge, and dissatisfied with how the situation was handled. I will be making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contacting their parent company Neighborly for their dishonest practice.

I appreciate that the company took the time to listen and address the situation rather than dismissing my feedback. I also appreciated that my initial conversation with the manager's assistant was escalated and handled promptly. The manager reviewed my concerns, provided additional clarification regarding the pricing, acknowledged my frustration, and worked with me to resolve the issue.
