I purchased a refurbished washer and dryer set from Larry almost exactly a year ago. We are a…read morefamily with 4 boys, 7, 6, 4 and 2 months. We do A TON of laundry. The washer had worked so well for us, never failing to get the caked on dirt out of pants and wash full loads of towels on a daily basis. Well, just like all young families who just spent all their money purchasing a home and buying a bigger car, the dang washer stops working. I gave Larrys a call and the owner was so helpful. He gave me his personal cell phone number and had me send a picture of my washer, then proceeded to tell me that we could come down for free and he would show me and my husband how to fix what was wrong. The part was 45$ but the valuable lesson was worth so much more. He noticed our newborn baby in the car seat and cautioned us to watch out for certain signs of one of his tiny socks being stuck in the pump, and showed my husband how to fix that too, taking an entire washer apart, explaining every screw and to be careful not to tighten this one too much or you can crack a piece, and to be careful when replacing the shell, and plenty more "if this, then do that's". Now, I'm a first time home owner and don't have much experience with repair services, but I've never in my life heard of a repair man inviting a customer into his business and showing us how to do the work he makes a living from on our own. That's the sort of business ethics that give me hope. I would highly recommend Larry's Appliance Castle. Had I bought this set anywhere else I would be out shopping for a new washer instead of sitting here on the couch with my little baby listening to the hum of my washer.

A few years later, we converted a laundry room into a bathroom so returned to Kelly's to shop for a stackable washer and dryer. The salesman asked about the brand of our washer and dryer, and sold us the very inexpensive part needed to stack the appliances we had at home. Money saved! Recently, in search of double wall ovens, we yet again returned to Kelly's. This time we met Todd Edgar. We had done a *lot* of research and were pretty sure of what we wanted. Todd really knows his stuff! He answered our questions, provided knowledgeable insight, and researched our concerns. I especially appreciated his ability to communicate information clearly. And his patience is quite commendable. If you're looking for an appliance, go see Todd!

Then several months later the sprayer blade broke again, after it was out of warranty. We figured out that due to the dishwasher not being level that the sprayer blade was getting caught up in the pool of water caused by the unbalanced unit. We contacted Kelly's to see if they at least had a leveling bolt we could get / purchase and were told that the person who installed the unit would contact us, which never happened. Ultimately we got a leveling bolt for free from a local appliance repair store (thank you) and fixed the dishwasher ourselves, but we had to buy two sprayer blades and deal with a leaking /overflowing dishwasher due to their bad installation job.

I write this with regret as we always try to support a local business over the big box companies…read more After a week of interaction I would avoid this company. Lot of good talk but that's all. We scheduled their service guy well in advance but got no notice until the last minute when he was at the wrong address and upset. We stopped at their location in Newberg and gave them photo of the washer info 5 days prior. The service tech (Wendell) showed up with preconceived idea of what was wrong despite even the error code on the machine. Did little to no investigation except saying the machine was over 5 years old, we needed to "junk" it, and to go their shop and buy a new Speed Queen. Totally torched any other product including our Maytag (which they sell). He did no investigative work and walked out. My step son looked on the internet and found the exact problem...unplug and let it re-set. Its now been 2 days since and numerous loads (after a week without a washer) with it working fine. Wendy (the Owner) called my wife today and admitted that their service guy "lacks communication skills". We also have a email from their sales person saying the same thing. It appeared to us he only wanted a show up fee and to sell us a new machine. And they marked us as "out of the area" on the service call even though we are only 2 miles from their business. I hate putting down a local business but I'd avoid this company even if it means going to the big box companies.

Old unit, stuff was starting to go bad. Great unit though, that's why we stuck with the same brand.
