Got a massage today for the first time at AB Acupuncture and my massage therapist, Precious, gave one of the best massages I've ever had. She knew exactly what I needed to relieve the tightness in my shoulders which included hot stones. It was pleasant added service to get a warm towel wipe down before and after the massage! Very friendly staff & therapists. The massage was OK, didn't like the mentha rub all over. My therapist forgot I had 90 minutes so I had to remind her and the music went out about 20 minutes in. I am usually not one to be picky, but music makes a difference especially when you can hear 2 different and loud conversations in 2 other rooms next to you. Not very relaxing. Finally, I have horrible allergies and problems breathing on a normal basis. It smells like cigarette smoke as soon as you walk in. It is very hard to breathe and unpleasant. read more

Just had my massage and acupuncture here yesterday. Wonderful as usual! I was so relaxed I wasn't sure I could drive. Sarah the masseuse and Amber the acupuncturist are the best. I'm not sure what the issue was with the comments below on the temperature I've never had that problem and bottom line did it help at all with the issues you came in with or are you just complaining. Maybe you're a competitor trying to give them a bad rating. Anyway, these guys will spend time with you getting to know you, what your issues are and it's a wonderful environment with friendly people. Give it a try! read more

If I hadn't gotten a seriously good deal through living social I would have been really bummed with this place! When I walked in I was almost bowled over by the overwhelming amount of smoke in the air, when I asked about it they said it was a part of the acupuncture procedure, which is fine, but it still smelled like a casino! It was also way too hot inside. So, between the smoke and the heat it felt claustrophobic and stuffy the entire time. The place was also not the most upscale of places which I was expecting, but the lack of decor and the open storage room doors made this place seem both sparse and messy. My massage was ok but I could tell that my lady didn't have very much experience and I still smelt like smoke for hours after! My clothes reeked of it and I had to wash my hair when I got home. I am a VA referral patient. Before this I had used another acupuncture provider in El Cajon and was satisfied with the results. I just wanted to see what was out there so I could have some thing to compare. There is a difference and am I glad I decided to shop around. The friendly , knowledgeable staff at A&B was exceptional. In addition to acupuncture a treatment called Moxa was used. I had never heard of it before this but I walked out of the office feeling more relaxed than I have been in years. This was not a placebo effect as I had no idea what Moxa was supposed to do. IT WORKS, FOR REAL. Appointments were on time and hygiene standards were high. A&B Acupuncture gets an A+. I'm currently into my second year as an acupuncture patient at AB Acupuncture. I have been so impressed with their professionalism and concerned attention to every physical complaint that I have. Recently, I have begun treatment with Ava Ohashi and there just aren't enough adjectives to describe what a wonderful practitioner she is! I have some really unique health challenges due to a rare autoimmune disorder, but that never keeps Ava from trying week after week to give me the BEST treatment she can to alleviate my symptoms and improve my overall wellbeing. I am happy to say that through her concerted efforts, my ailments are actually improving; this is nothing short of miraculous because Western medicine failed to do so after years of trying different treatment options. Not a good experience. I scheduled my appointment two weeks in advance and took the day off since they had very limited availability in scheduling and the earliest appointment was two weeks out. I arrived to my appointment on time only to find out they didn't have me on their schedule. The receptionist said they had me in their system, just not on their schedule, so it must be something wrong with the scheduling system (however he didn't seem very apologetic and said to me "well these things happen "). I sat down in the lobby and had to wait an additional hour to be seen! The lobby wasn't very updated and the older gentleman (receptionist) started sweeping around me. He even asked me to move chairs so he could sweep. Definitely not very welcoming on my first visit. I finally got to see the practitioner and she was good, friendly, and knowledgeable but seemed rushed from patient to patient. Maybe this was an overbooking mistake, but my first and only experience was unpleasant enough to look elsewhere for treatment in the future. read more

Just had an amazing massage from Sarah! Got a great deal from Groupon so went in to try and she did not disappoint and I am very picky about my massages! I was also happy to see that their every day rates are very reasonable, $50 for 60 minute massage and $80 for a 90 minute massage. The entire office was also very friendly. After reading about AB Acupuncture I was looking forward to a great massage. After filling out the required paperwork, I was introduced to my massage therapist. She led me to a clean, private room and asked if I had any special problems. I noted a sore right knee. She never asked what kind of massage I wanted, Deep Tissue, Swedish, etc. The massage was billed as consisting of one hour. I looked at the time and the total massage was 50 minutes. I guess they include the time it takes to disrobe. The most disappointing part was she failed to massage the area I noted and totally ignored my hamstrings and my right arm. She spent alot of time doing pressure points and ignoring actually performing massage techniques. I have had many massages and I would have to rate this one as one of the worst. No, I don't recommend AB Acupuncture for massages. I didn't experience acupuncture so I can't rate that part of this organization. read more
