Not sure about the only other review, but I just used them and what a great job they did. Here's my review: We just had AB Drywall, remove our old Popcorn Ceiling and replace it with a beautiful Knock-Down Ceiling. Alan was nothing less than FANTASTIC, as well as his wife and crew. Everything was down so professionally and they were always available to take our questions. I've taken down Popcorn before and was planning on doing it this time, but needed someone to add the Knock-Down. Alan's estimate was such that it made no sense for me to do any of the work!! Bottom line: excellent price, very professional, met all schedules, great cleanup afterwards, and overall - very nice people! Can't recommend them more strongly. Out ceiling Looks GREAT! Would not recommend AB Drywall & Texturing Service. They removed the popcorn ceilings and painted the interior of our home. Less than one year later the ceilings are cracking and look "worn" in many areas. The owner Akan Boatwright said his son would contact me and they'd take care of it c clearly 6 months later they have no plan to take care of it and do not return phone calls or texts any longer. Do not use their service ! We now have to have our entire home ceilings fixed and repainted. read more

They did not show up for their appointment at 8:00. When we called around 8:30, no explanation other than they were on another job and would be there "later". When pressed, promised no later than 3:00. At about 4:00, owners brother showed up (owner said he would personally be doing our job) and said he had no control over what happened. Job was completed about 6:30. Cleanup was less than adequate and when I tried to prime the drywall the next morning, it was not a good job. Called and they came back out. Wife asked him to remove shoes and come in from rear since she had cleaned the front area and he was not happy, but complied. He admitted he missed a few places and blamed bad drywall for others. Job was redone and adequate, but this company lacks professionalism and understanding of customer service. I would not call them again. read more

They didn"t show up for their appointment and never bothered to call that they weren't going to show. I called the next day and they sent someone over the following day. The drywall job they were hired to do was not completed satisfactorily. When they textured the walls there doesn't appear to be any attempt to match the existing texture. When they left after the job was done, I discovered that they had dumped all of the drywall mud they had left over from the job in our garden in the front yard. Numerous calls we have made to the owner to get someone to come back and clean up have been unsuccessful so far. I agree with a previous reviewer, call another contractor and wait for quality work. read more

I contacted A & B drywall after a friend referred them to for the new texture of my home. I spoke with company representative Mr. Alan Boatright. I told him I was particular about texture especially knock down. I asked for a heavy knock down known to most people as a stucco finish for the ceiling and a heavy knock down for walls. I specifically told can do the type of finish im asking for, to which I was assured he could. Before he could start I had to add in drywall patches after some fixtures were removed from the home. He not a problem $150 for the large patch and $100 for three small patches. We agreed on a price and to have the old popcorn removed new seems and the specialty texture I requested. Once Mr. Boatright and his employees started the I agreed to view the work later that evening. I was absolutely livid that he apparently didn't listen to one thing I said. They did not do the larger patch that I was charged $150 for. They did not do the specialty texture I had requested and been charged extra for. They sprayed the doors and trim with drywall mud. They sprayed the windows and sills with drywall mud. They even sprayed in the duct work with drywall mud. There was no attempt at clean made inside the home. They even only partially spayed each closet inside the home.I was charged extra to have the garage sprayed as well. They splattered the walls and never actually knocked the walls down via the texture. The garage had bare concrete floors, they never made a attempt to cover the or do any sort of clean up work. Even the front, back and garage door was not taped off and covered in drywall mud. The three small patches made were all bubbled out and textured over. One patch inside a closet was never even done. When I contacted Mr. Boatright to address the problems with the worked performed he said he never agreed to large patch and he didn't beilve the other patches bubbled out. I took photos of each one. I asked to fix the patches and clean the excessive mud of all the trim and doors. I also made mention that I didn't believe the job was worth full price as some problems with the in reality couldn't be fixed at this point. He said he would not return that he would either get full price or lien my property. I told I'd prefer to work the issue out with him, but they had to fix parts of the job. He once again refused and said he would not. I told him I happily see him and civil court as well as file complaints against him. I would have preferred to reach a solution with him, but that just wasn't possible. To future customers I'd watch everything they do, he is quick to cut corners and assume what you want. My best advice call another contractor and wait for quality work. read more
