I called a day ago asking if they could make a replacement key for my car. They assured me someone was on the way. Fast forward a day plus later and no one is coming, and every time I call they pretend that they haven't heard from me or tell me someone will call me back within a few minutes but no one does. Called them. No answer. Hung up, but got called back immediately. Told him I got locked out of house. He then came within 20 minutes, and unlocked door. He then asked for $85, saying I was lucky that I didn't get a different locksmith, that competitors would have charged me $160. Little did he know that I had googled average prices for my city, and it was $55. In any case, it was too late. My fault for not asking for a quote over phone, and for not asking for one before he started work. He refused to accept credit card, insisting on cash or check. So I had to go to the ATM while he followed me there. I withdrew $80 and paid him. He then left. Good responsivity, good service, overpriced, and poor payment processing. I won't be using their services again nor will I be recommending them to anyone. read more

I'm deaf and I was camping at Harpers ferry. My key fob broke. I had iffy service but searched around for a place close to me to make one. Being that i am deaf I don't always hear my phone or am not In reach of my phone with the outdoors with my cochlear device it being Bluetooth isn't as strong outside . This elderly man (if you want to call him that.) when I first called He was waking up. No problem I offered to call him back. After I hung up It started to rain so we got to packing up. I guess he called my phone not once but twice. When in noticed The calls. I called him back. When he answered the phone he said "you know I called you twice, answer your phone next time" I could probably find a lawyer to sue him for disablilty discrimination and he is a business being that he was angry And yelling at a deaf individual to answer their phone and upset that didn't answer my phone. I don't hear it. Regardless even if my hearing was great you don't talk to people that way. There's no reason. Lots of reasons people don't answer and then call back when they can. But figured I'd warn others and leave reviews online. I did call him a ahole and hung up. How can people treat customers this way. Lots of locksmiths and key places around thankfully. Locked out of our house after hours. Called ABA's number and was answered immediately with a live person...can you believe it!! Unlike the 4 other local locksmiths in Frederick and Clarksburg I found on google that had answering machines. One locksmith took 2 hours to return the call, another said they would call back in 5 minutes and didn't and never heard back from the others. Don't waste your time calling the other locksmith's you'll be waiting for hours!!! ABA's locksmith was very friendly and was at our home 30 minutes after I called. He did not try and rip us off and charged a fair and reasonable price for after hours service, travel and service call. I highly recommend this company. I called in the evening when the lock to the front door broke. Gus from ABA Locksmith in Frederick arrived in half an hour. Our lock was tricky but Gus knew his job well. When he found out that our lock couldn't be fixed without a new part, he replaced it with a different lock as a temporary fix. We paid him before he left. However the next day he called back and told us that he found the part that would work with our lock. He arrived again in 15 minutes and fixed our original lock in a few minutes without any additional charge. He also made the lock work more smooth. We are happy with his service and would highly recommend him to whoever needs locksmith. read more

Twice in one week I have needed a locksmith. Rather, the first time I needed a locksmith to fix the locks at my business. David came out, worked diligently, was polite, and was done quickly. I have an office with clients coming and going. As he worked he was friendly and polite despite people interrupting him. The lock was fixed, the price was reasonable (way cheaper than a new lock) and I was very satisfied. Fast forward to today and the wind (so warm yesterday but now cold and windy today, sheesh) blew hard enough so that a client leaving had a gust catch the door and the hydraulic arm broke and a sheared-off screw was stuck in the door hardware. Not sure who to call, I tried David at Able Locksmith. I called around 9am, he advised that he could be here by late afternoon, then he got here at noon(!). Which was great, because we had a bungee attached to the door and it looked pretty crappy. He fixed it despite this not being what he is used to doing. He was here and gone within a half hour and now our door works again. David is personable, friendly, and obviously highly competent because hydraulic door arms are not his expertise but he came here, worked quickly, and did a great job. We have saved a great deal of money using David at Able Locksmith and will definitely, without a doubt, be working with them in the future any time we need anything done. I can't speak highly enough right now of how fast, friendly, fair and convenient my experiences have been. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! read more

I contacted ABA Locksmith on 12/14/16 and made an appointment with "GUS" for 12/21/16 to replace locks for a new home we just purchased. The appointment was scheduled for 2pm and at 1:30pm I called "GUS" to confirm that he was still coming. He replied by saying he was on his way to the house. At 2:30pm, I called "GUS" again to find out if he was on his way or got lost or something. Not only being rude and disrespectful over the phone, he told me that he was busy and if I can't wait, go with someone else and further more to kiss his ass. I had Gus on speaker phone during this call and my wife and other installers were present to witnessed this guy's behavior. I WOULD NOT recommend anyone using this company, total dis-respect. Thank god I was able to get another company to come out within the hour to replace our locks. read more

If you bought your own blank with keyless remote, don't even brother to go to hardware stores to get it cut because they don't know how to charge you without buying a regular blank from them. Gus at ABA will take care of the cutting and charge only 5 bucks. read more

I needed two dead bolt locks installed on my flimsy off the deck entry doors, so after reading the first Yelp review I decided to give Aba Locksmith's a call. I got hold of the owner Gus right away, he was very accommodating on the phone and agreed to come out the next morning for the install. Gus and his son were right on time and started their work right away. One of the doors I had was a steel lined security door and was a real nightmare to drill. Gus handled it the best he could even though the door ate up a couple of his drill bits! He ran right over to the local Ace Hardware and was back in business in minutes. Gus is the man! My husband and I arrived home late last night to no power. We couldn't get into the garage as we usually do and didn't have a key with us to the front door. We called ABA. Gus arrived within 15 minutes. He picked the lock within a few minutes, then he was even able to cut the chain we had across the door, with cable cutters. It gets even better - No damage to our door lock! We were afraid that this was going to be a very costly, destructive ordeal. All we have to do is replace the chain!
