Nick was very informative and worked with me on the costs. It was really easy to schedule my move for the exact dates I needed. He contacted me the week I was scheduled to move to confirm all of the arrangements - he was very personable. He and his colleague arrived as scheduled, packed up my house within a few hours and headed to Texas. They actually arrived a day before I did and my apartment manager (with my permission) let them move all of my stuff in while I wasn't there. They had set up what they could and took pictures and texted them to me to show when they had finished. Because they arrived early, they reduced their fees which I wasn't expecting. Abba Movers did a 10/10 quality job moving our belongings long distance (they do local moves as well). Workers were punctual, super-friendly, and more than helpful if any new things/tasks arose. They are significantly MUCH MORE affordable than the typical big-name carriers - and yes they have insurance. They are accredited by the Better Business Bureau. I first found them via some reviews - and that's what got me - they were awfully good for a small name company. There was an incident where one of their dollies ended up accidentally falling and damaging a wall, and they offered to completely cover the damages! They offer isolated services of packing, loading, unloading, moving, or any combo of the above. They traditionally charge by the hour and don't use a hardcopy contract, but I was able to negotiate flat rate and put it in writing. And they will move your belongings in a sole fashion - no tagging along another families belongings, etc - at least not with me. I would work with them again. read more

They say you get what you pay for however in the case of ABBA Movers you get FAR more than what you pay for! Nick was so easy to work with, he was courteous and provided excellent follow up. Adolfo and his crew went above and beyond, as this was a military move, and they took it upon themselves to get the necessary weight tickets without prompting from us. His team worked efficiently and without stop strategically fitting way beyond what I thought would be capacity in to their truck. This was an out of state move but we didn't have to worry about our things getting combined with other people's belongings as they drove the truck straight through and unloaded the next morning, setting up and placing all the furniture lightening fast. I am also happy to report there wasn't so much as a scratched leg, a chipped plate or a missing screw. Everything was delivered exactly as it was found. I priced out a number of moving companies and Abba's price came in on the lower end. I chose them because Nick, who I found out later was the owner, genuinely seemed interested in earning my business. Although Nick didn't see what I had to move I described the job in detail. Nick accurately suggested it would be best to use 1 large truck and 4 guys and allow 5 hrs. He quoted a 2 hr flat rate and an hourly rate after that. Nicks experienced leader man and loading expert, Jean, directed his courteous and strong helpers, Brian, Brandon and Issac to complete the job in the exact amount of time estimated. It was very hot out and these guys did not stop. Confirmation on arrival times as well as follow-up texts and email were promptly received throughout the process. I used these guys twice to move me into and then out of an apartment in the French Quarter in New Orleans. I could not recommend them more highly. They were prompt, efficient, polite, incredibly hard working and were very, very careful with my antique furniture and art. My apartment was the top two floors of a three story former slave's quarter and to say that the interior stairs were tight is an understatement. I don't know how they did it, but everything ended up on the floor for which it was intended. This involved them hanging precariously over balconies and hoisting things up to an over the balconies and through very narrow french doors. Nick is simply the best as were the guys he brought with him both times. I truly can't think of a company I have dealt with recently that I have been more pleased with. Thanks guys! read more

I recently hired Abba Movers for a piano moving service and had a pretty positive experience overall. They were highly responsive in their communications, which made the whole process much smoother. The team did a quality job moving my piano with care and expertise. While there was a small hiccup--one piece was forgotten during the initial move--they promptly returned the next day to make it right, which I really appreciated. The only downside was that their service felt a bit pricey, especially since the missing piece wasn't delivered until the following day. A small discount for that oversight would have been nice. However, their customer service was consistently kind and attentive. Overall, I would recommend Abba Movers for their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction! read more

I had a ton of stuff and was on a tight schedule. I was in the process of moving from Louisiana to California and there was little room for error with scheduling. Jose Hernandez and Ernesto were the best movers I have ever had. They were on time, fast, and very careful with all of my stuff. They took a great deal of care loading my stuff and made sure it was all wrapped up and protected in moving blankets. I cannot say enough good things about these two guys. In addition, I had to change the time for them to come with only 1 days notice to coordinate with the delievery of the shipping containers and the mananger did it without a problem. I highly reccommend Abba Movers and if you can, request Jose Hernandez and Ernesto to do your move as they are exceptional. Good luck in your move! read more

Outstanding job and response. I needed to move 2 10x10 to a 10x30 this week before paying for both units... I asked on Wednesday and they responded back with two options for service, options included resources and actual costs. Not only did they respond within an hour, they could move it the next day, Thursday at the time I needed. Showed up with all the trimmings, moved everything in the 3 hours scheduled, and I'm done. Made life easy... crew of 3 were great guys also, very friendly, helpful, and mature, not some kids slackin' off half the time. Owner Nick took all the calls and wrapped everything up via credit card as soon as complete. Recommend these guys for any "within NOLA" move with enthusiasm! Will use them again this summer when packing the apartment in that 10x30. read more

This is my second time using this company. The first time they were hours late because they said their truck broke down. I chose to use them again because of their customer service and care of my things. This time they never showed up. My appointment was booked for 8 am but when they confirmed the time, it was 10 am. I got a notice around 11 am saying they will be late, new arrival is 1-1:30 pm. Another update said they didn't know when they would come but would keep me updated. No further communication I went to set up a new move and got immediate communication. My 10am appointment with them ended in them not showing up and me having to get a Uhaul trailer at 7 pm at night to move my things on my own as a single lady. Worst experience ever. read more

Nick and his professional team offered the absolute best moving services I could have possibly asked for. In the days leading up to my move, Nick communicated readily with me, answering all questions I had. On the day of the move, he and his team arrived on time and promptly went to work. They took great care to load all items without damaging them. This was a cross-country move, I should add. Four days later, they arrived, on time, in New York and carefully unloaded all items. To summarize, Nick and the team were friendly and professional and offered excellent service. I cannot think of anything they could have done to improve the service. This is by far the best move I have ever experienced. The truck showed up 10 minutes before the agreed upon time with a full crew. This was a whole house move that we knew would take all day. They immediately went through the house and made a plan with me. Furniture breakdown was efficient and careful and the guys were respectful and diligent with the property. The only mishap was a large piece of blown glass artwork that was broken in the move. When it was reported to the office there was no hassle to settle the claim. Fair in their dealing and the guys worked until very late without complaining or asking for extra money or tips(which I did but I am used to movers asking for them early in the day which I hate). Moving is stressful but in Nick's hands we were able to relax and let them do what they know how to do and do very well. I give these guys 5 stars because they are polite, they work hard, and in the end they are true to what they promise. I needed to move my mom from ponchatoula LA to Cypress TX. It's about a 5 hour drive. Nick was the guy who quoted a fair price and made sure everythg went smoothly. His guys Dave, Daniel and his father in law Maurice all were polite and hard working. Maurice tells some funny jokes and keeps the day going. They wrapped all the furniture well and the move went great! The time quoted was a little under what it turned out to be, but my mom had a lot of stuff! Nick was very fair in his price and even offered a few discounts at the end I would use them again and recommend them to others. read more

Before my daughter's move of items from her dorm room - I as her mom was a nervous wreck. In part because I could not be on campus to help her and she needed assistance with boxes, supplies, and shipping back home. Well immediately after speaking to Nick, my nervousness subsided. He followed every detail to the letter. In addition, he arranged for the drivers to take my daughter to the shipping store and bring her back to her dorm. We met Nick, owner of Abba Movers and never interviewed anyone else after. He has a way of instilling confidence in your move, in the relationship you will have with your mover and he makes the chaotic process just that much more sane. Beside that he is endlessly polite and actually returns all your calls and emails...so what's not to like about that! The way he packs a truck makes me think he may have had a Rubik's cube as s kid...it's tight and no inch is wasted. We moved from Baton Rouge, LA to Dallas, TX and the move was very smooth and tension free. We moved on a weekend and the items were all packed on Saturday as planned and arrived the very next day (Sunday - delivered) with all items in perfect condtion. Nick was extremely professional , efficient and very careful. They were also accessible over the phone during the entire move. They kept their timings sharp and I was able to coordinate also through phone calls and messages in between the move. They did a great job and I will use them again for our next move. Nick and his teams were wonderful. After having a horrible experience with another unnamed moving service was very tentative. Relatively short notice. After deal on house fell through at last minute he canceled his movers in another city without any charge, helped me into storage and stayed while I had to deal with wrong access codes...actually helped an older couple with their things while I was on the phone with the storage people. Nick immediately called after the job to check on everything and to offer help even though he had not previously had a crew available. Wpuld definitely recommend again and again and again! read more
