Summary: Fine for what you need and, but I will be searching for a new provider for my future dental needs. I visited Abbella after finding them on my list of insurance. They appealed to me as they are in walking distance of my house. They did not have online booking available so I had to call to schedule. When I called I was told only the male receptionist could schedule, and the young female frequently had to put the phone down to ask the male receptionist questions (no problem, perhaps she is new.) The office is reasonably clean and located in an older building with a small parking lot, close to downtown North Wales. Prior to my first visit, I provided my insurance information. When I arrived I was provided an estimate for the services (exam & x-rays) on an iPad at the reception desk (though I don't know typical prices so I didn't know what to make of the quotes). I was taken back for initial x-rays (though I'd had some taken within the last year.) After x-rays I met with the dentist, Yuling Liang, DMD. She was friendly and spent a good amount of time reviewing my medical history with me, which I appreciated. She provided her opinion on my x-rays and a course of action to fix a retainer issue I'd been having. After meeting with her, I was surprised to be lead back out to the front to schedule another appointment. I was never told that this initial appointment would be only a consultation and that no services or cleaning would actually be performed. As I work during the week this was l frustrating and disappointing, namely because I didn't know beforehand. Had I known I'd have to come for 2 separate appointments, I likely would have picked another dentist as I do not have the availability to easily schedule 2 dentist appointments in 2 weeks. I also worried whether this would impact the billing on my insurance - i.e. whether it would count for 2 exams and if both would be covered. Nonetheless, I scheduled my actual care appointment for the following week, as I was in need of a repair to my retainer and it was time-sensitive. Upon my return I was told that my insurance had not gone thru and they needed my information again. I did not have it on hand and had to make phone calls to my employer to obtain the information needed. Had I been told of this issue beforehand, I could have resolved it prior to my appointment time. Instead, I cut into my scheduled appointment time to work out an insurance question. Once the insurance was resolved and I was called back, the hygienist who would be cleaning my teeth did not introduce herself and did not ask any initial questions about my brushing habits, or if any teeth were bothering me. I found this off-putting and quite atypical. At the end, I was sad to not receive the typical "goody bag" of a travel toothpaste, floss and toothbrush. I can't recall ever going to a dentist without getting some swag! At the end of the day, Abbella is conveniently located to me personally, but my experience was not what I was hoping for. I'm terrified of doctors and especially dentists (hey, I'm a guy, we're all sissies in the end), but the Doc and the staff are quick, friendly, and efficient. My only complaint? "SPEAK UP!" I grew up in a crowded Italian family where everyone had to shout at each other just to be heard! I can't hear ya's, you're all so dang polite! read more

6/28/23 If my comment confuses you, why reply? I said what I said. Rick, you make the business make absolutely bad. The wait time is horrendous. I said the couches are filthy, nothing about the air. I wanted an appointment for another temporary filling because the first one came out 3 hours the same day I got it done. Rick- "that is not meant to stay in very long; it is meant to protect the tooth temporarily" 3 hours though?? & secondly not everyone has immediate funds for a crown. But your suggestion was even worse go to a "CVS pharmacy because the appointment are to far out". Pathetic much You "have an electronic phone log of every call". Therefore, you can agree I called numerous times. And I couldn't reach you because you wouldn't return my call. You lack communication in every sense look at your other reviews. You absolutely do not return calls and had the front desk girl tell me you "don't return calls because he's a manager". A title without the experience at its finest. Your front desk couldn't explain nor give me any information without consulting you first. Therefore it wasn't any useful conversations Why would I call to discuss anything? You lost 2 patients, you got a bad review and that's that deal with it. I got my crown done at my previous employer as I stated. Now leave me alone. read more

Being of Asian descent, I thought it was wonderful to find not only an Asian dentist, but also a female dentist! Upon arrival at the office, I found the man behind the counter to be rude and short with me. I waited over 45 minutes for my scheduled appointment, while sitting in a hot waiting room on a filthy couch. Once I met the doctor, i felt rushed, my concerned were not heard, and I was frustrated. Upon leaving, I was unsure about returning for future appointments. When I voiced my concerns to the Asian man at the counter, I was told that I was free to go elsewhere! Very good hours and very skilled dentist. Receptionists are very friendly and helpful. The dental assistants have been very gentle as well.

Disgusted with this dentist and her staff. After scheduling an appointment, showing up on time, waiting an entire hour, I approached the desk and asked what was going on. I was told they were running behind due to being "short staffed". There's ONE dentist at this location so "short staffed" is a nonsense excuse. I was on my lunch hour and the hour was up. I questioned as to why they didn't simply call me to late me know she was running late SO I COULD ADJUST MY SCHEDULE, but the only schedule they care about is THEIR OWN! Ultimately I rescheduled, which clearly annoyed the male "office gate-keeper". I had to call last minute to reschedule that appointment and due to my reschedule request, I WAS DENIED FURTHER TREATMENT AT THIS OFFICE. Absolutely absurd that the dentist was permitted to waste an hour of my time, but when I needed flexibility, I was denied any further treatment. What makes it even worse is that I was accused of missing 12 scheduled appointments. Complete BS, as they charge $75 per missed appointment and I am certain I only paid that fee one time. What an absolutely friendly office. Everyone is so nice. I've been coming to Abbella for over 2 years now and it has been a terrific experience. My hygienist is so gentle with my cleaning. I can honestly say, I do not dread going to the dentist. Keep up the good work guys !! read more

I've had some difficulty with the office and their cancellation policy. My daughter had pneumonia last year and we had to cancel appointment. We followed the policy and cancelled within 24 hours but on our next appointment we called to reschedule the office manager threw that in our face and said he was going to charge us. They don't pick up their messages unless it suits them. They told me we had to cancel Thurs for a Mon appt... ridiculous. I just feel like the practice is greedy and will try to milk every last penny out of you. Don't go there unless you want to be hassled for not having a perfect life. read more

Dr. Liang is thorough with her exams, is fair at problem solving issues that might arise and she doesn't do any procedures that are unnecessary! Her front end office staff are great!
