The actual rentals were fine. However, pick up and delivery costs 150 each way. Delivery was fine, but the pickup driver drove over my sand bags and water barrier to pick up the rentals. That was completely unnecessary and now I have to purchase a new water barrier and sand bags to deal with the coming rains. I would not rent from them again for that reason alone. read more

Wow! Abbey Party Rentals went above and beyond for our school's graduation ceremony. We called them rather last minute to rent a stage so that we could have an outdoor ceremony that fit all of the COVID restrictions. Although they were pretty booked, they shifted some things around to make sure that our public school kids were able to walk on a stage. Erika was so nice and easy to work with and very responsive! It was so easy to get a hold of her, and she was there every second of the way, from the time I called to inquire about the stage, right to the moment when they installed the stage. Thank you! I compared a lot of party rentals to rent the ghost chairs (attached photo) for my wedding. Other rental company will charge you $20 for each chair, but Abbey party rental only charge you $10!!! That is 50% less and that is why we choose APR. They also have lots of variety on tables and linens. Irving was very responsive in providing quotes, even when I have last minute changes or I wasn't responding him for about a month (to reconfigure my wedding and guests). We did the friday pickup monday drop off because we did not meet the shipping minimum, but that means we dont have to pay extra for delivery too! D day When we arrive we were greeted by Jose, APR respect the COVID 19 protocol and they get tested every 2 weeks. Jose was very accommodating. He lent us a cloth for our pick up truck for free and help us transport all the furniture to the vehicle. Drop off Dropping off was easy and fast! But I waited over SEVEN HOURS in a park for them to pick up their stuff! when the original pick up window was between 8-10am they didn't show up until after 3 PM!! This is a long overdue review. What can I say about this company other than they go above and beyond EVERY SINGLE TIME! I always call them stressed out of my mind because our original supplier messed up, which is seeming to be a regular occurrence! Laura is so AMAZING! She makes sure to check what's it's stock and gets back to me ASAP because she understands the importance and frustration I am constantly going through. They've even gone to the point to help me with an emergency order when they are CLOSED! What company does that?! I will never forget that day! We had an embarrassing snafu with Abbey at our event last year, and it taught me to seek harder to understand before accusing. I try not to be "that" event planner who writes negative reviews about vendors, but Irving took it to heart and really blew us away this year. What happened was a miscommunication in the time frame they were allowed at the venue, and it's one that'll be corrected for all events to come. This time, Irving came onsite to ensure his team was providing top-notch customer service and completed all tasks in a timely manner. As a Regional Services Manager for my company, I've had to go onsite to handle client escalations (even if it's a small misunderstanding) so I appreciate their going above and beyond to make things right. I work for a nonprofit, and we usually rent tents, tables, and chairs. In this case, we rented 4 tents with weights, and one of the tents was not. When I returned the items, I told a really nice guy what happened and said if you can refund us the tent, because we used the weights, I will pay for it. Got the job done. Rented lights and umbrellas for a wedding. They put some of the umbrellas in the shade so they didn't get used but the lights worked out ok. They also upped the price by $600 from the original quote I got and it took a while to finalize lights and umbrellas but they did ok with the set up and take down and were generally timely. I think the caterer also rented some of the glassware and table cloths from them as well and those worked well. read more

I'm sorry to say that I have nothing good to say here. The customer service was terrible and the quality of everything was awful! They have a delivery time from 8am to 5pm which means that your stuff can be delivered at any point. When I asked them to please make my delivery the last stop of the day or as late as possible they gave me the price list. I would have to pay an additional fee. I think this is pretty ridiculous because we already paid $1400 for rentals and at this point, it felt like I was being nickel and dimed. After multiple attempts to talk to them they finally agreed to drop off my rentals when my venue could take them. They failed to follow through on the day of after I called to verify the drop off time. When I got the stuff there were rips and scuffs on the white furniture, literally all of the bar tables were wobbly and the bar was cracked and broken. No one called or emailed to make sure that we got everything or even to email me that they charged the rest of the cc. I get that customers are aware of this when they sign the contract but not even an email was sent with a receipt. The same thing happened on pick up day. I tried for over two hours to tell someone that because of the holiday no one will be at the venue for pickup until 3pm. When I finally did get ahold of someone he said he would tell the driver. Then I get a call from the driver at 11:30 that he was at the venue. I had to reiterate the situation. Bottom line, it was terrible customer service across the board, poor communication and terrible quality of rentals for the price. I will never rent from them again. read more

No issue with my rentals but beware these people are very inflexible and will scam and gouge you any chance they get. DO NOT sign the contract unless you are 100% sure because after you sign, they are unwilling to make anymore changes even though it is several days in advance of your event! To top it all, they picked up the rentals that was neatly stacked and arranged by our party planner. Day after, I witnessed their delivery people collect everything-- 4 days later, they called and accused me of not returning their laundry bag. My rental bill was $2500 -- paid them in cash! I called fairly last minute for a small ceremony event the week of asking for tables, chairs, linens and tents. The event consultants were very helpful and walked me through the event rental process as this was my first time renting. They told me their manager was facilitating all tent rentals and passed on my info to him to complete my order. It was such a smooth experience and they were all so kind! You would think talking to a few people would be confusing but they're communication was so on point and easy! We had an executive level offsite this week and our caterers suggested we rent furniture from Abbey Rentals. Our event was from 9am-4pm so we needed our furniture delivered by 8:30am. They wanted to charge us a delivery charge of $435 instead of $85 since their delivery hours are 9-5pm. I passed on the delivery since they had no room for negotiation, and called All Seasons Event Rentals, who was very accommodating to our requests, and only charged us $100 round trip for delivery. All Seasons Events just earned the loyal customer and event planner that Abby lost. read more

I first want to say that since i first contacted Amanda for the services she was very rude and impatient. Didn't make sure she had my order right or double check anything, i had to call to make sure everything was as we discussed. I paid for the delivery and for the delivery people to set up the tables. What happened is that i got to the place to double check with the owner of the place i rented for the keys and there i saw the delivery guys who just left the tables leaned up against the wall. We said to the delivery guys multiple times and they acted above us and rude. Anyways, I PAID for them to set it up and i was very specific about that with Amanda. All they said is that no one told them they had to do that. Worst comes to worst on MY wedding day, i set up the tables with my aunt. All the tables and chairs by ourselves which made me really late to get ready and make it to the church. I was late to my own wedding because the staffing is so unorganized both coordinators and delivery guys. After MY OWN WEDDING i had to break down the tables and chairs and leave it ready for them to pick up since they said they weren't going to do it. I paid almost $300 for them to set up and break down the tables, besides the delivery fees. I was the last person to leave the place because i was breaking down tables. I couldnt even leave to my honeymoon!!!! IN ADDITION, now they have charged me $58 because they claim "they couldn't pick up the tables/chairs" without giving me a specific reason. IS THIS A FREAKING JOKE??? Robbing people blind!!! If I could give this company a negative star review I would. HORRIBLE. Would not recommend. Save yourself a major headache. read more

Thumbs DOWN! Organized a private curry event for a few hundred guests and since the venue did not have a kitchen, we ordered all of the supplies and utensils through Abbey to highlight the restaurants involved and present their curry inspired dishes. After their late delivery, we noticed missing items that were essential for execution such as chaffing dishes and platters. We had a small buffet style set up but no way to serve food! You can't just dump curry into something without constant heat and how were our appetizers going to be presented without serving platters?!! The food was the most important aspect of this event and there was no way to skip out on these items. They did deliver the hot box to store all of the food and keep it hot so after running around like a mad woman in rush hour traffic to Smart & Final, I was able to find the LAST few chaffing dishes and presentable platters for the buffet table in the nick of time. $350+ later on the corporate card at S&F, I was highly disappointed with the delivery service and lack of organization with Abbey Rentals. When I called and b*tched out the sales rep during my rage she claimed there was nothing she could do because their drivers had already finished for the day. She offered to stay after hours at their location for me to pick up the missing items but since they were located in Daly City there was not enough time prior to the event start. Under no circumstances should the client be running around, picking up the missing pieces and making up for their mistakes....do not count on Abbey Party Rents for your occasion. Thankfully luck graced me that night and the event was a still a success but of course..that's not the point! P.S. the items that were not delivered were deducted off the bill and a discount was provided... a measly 20% after intense negotiation (which did not cover the amount we spent on our end to cover their mistakes) Grrr... read more

A last minute decision to rent hot water and coffee dispensers for a birthday party lead us to Abbey. On the fly they had what we needed at a pretty reasonable price. And like another reviewer said, its surprising that they are almost the only game in town for quick party rentals. I'm sure we could have found something else but when you're driving in a car, using your iPhone because you only have 2 hours to make a decision and pick something up, Abbey fit the bill. Unlike some other rental places we called, they have a store-front (well something like that) where you could go in and get it. The staff there was super friendly, professional and quick. We went in as soon as they said they had the coffee makers, we got both hot water and coffee dispenser for a total of $35 for 3 days rental, and was out of there in less than 15 mins. Nice! I guess I could give them 5 stars but I just wasn't feeling their location. lol. Kind of an old facility, you can tell that its not their priority to have a nice store front for walk- ins. It's very basic, and kind of clean, but I couldn't tell. And though the address says "Daly City", to me, it's not Daly City. I consider their location Visitacion Valley/Cow Palace area. It's kinda borderline folks and tucked away in the hood, next to a See's Candies distribution warehouse. We rented some stuff from Abbey Party Rentals for a holiday party a couple of weeks ago and were, for the most part, pretty satisfied with the process. While they had everything in stock we needed, prices were a bit all over the map. Glassware at .50 each seemed a bargain, as did bar height tables at $9. But then tablecloths for said tables were $10.75 each and a smallish pop up tent was $75! Communication was also a bit sketchy...I placed my order and was told that I'd receive an email confirmation. I never received a confirmation plus when I called two days before our event to check up they told me if I needed to cancel or change anything at that late date there would be a 30% restocking fee. This fee was never mentioned to me when I placed the order though I imagine it would have been on the confirmation email which I never received. Luckily we didn't need to change anything and the party went off without a hitch due in large fact to the extra glassware, tables and tent that we got from Abbey. And an added bonus in regards to renting glassware: you can return them dirty! I'd recommend using Abbey for your next event but make sure you get straight answers before handing over your credit card info! read more

I rented from them for years for work until last year when I had a major event for which I needed chairs delivered in a very exact time frame (within one hour on either side). I paid $350 to get this delivery on time. $350!!! And then they delivered HOURS early - thank goodness the facility was open and forgiving - and almost didn't make it on time on the other end as they were very late. When I called and told them I didn't want to pay the extra charge I had paid for an exact time frame - and that I actually had another event coming up that I had already reserved I would like to credit that towards - I was told there were no refunds. It wasn't like I got something, didn't like the way it looked, and wanted my money back. I paid for a service that I did not receive. It took me almost flipping out and talking to many people to get them to credit the extra charge towards my rental that was coming up in a week. I started out this process being very nice so it wasn't that they didn't want to give a bitch a credit - I used to work retail. I know the sweet person gets the credits usually. But in this case I had to get a little crazy. This year I found out about a different company. You can be sure I will never use Abbey again if I can help it.
