Carolyn and her staff are caring and concerned with my dog's health and safety while staying at Dogtown Resort. Carolyn goes that extra mile for all her dogs and their owners. I was out of town and needed to have my dog in care on an emergency basis. With the upcoming holiday, there was a chance I needed to return home early to pick up my dog. Carolyn was at a vet appt herself and returned my call later to say she will make it work!! For those of you who feel Dogtown Resort prices are high, the national average for kennel overnight is more than $40 up to $85. In California, I paid $50 per night! Yikes!! When my hybrid job started to require more time in person...the idea of just having to crate her for a couple full work days every week was very upsetting to both of us. I've tried a few different daycares and found her coming home more anxious and disregulated. But I decided to try it anyways and I'm so glad I did! I'm a big fan of how they introduce new dogs slowly and carefully, in a way that works very well for dogs like mine. I've found that this has helped with her socialization across the board! Even meeting dogs out in public is less scary for her now. An off leash dog ran up on us last month when out on a walk and instead of shutting down like I expected, she was wagging and excited. I 100% credit this to her time at Shilohs Place. At this point, she knows the route I take to Shiloh's Place and starts doing tippy tappies in the back seat as soon as she knows where we are going! And every day when I pick her up, she promptly goes straight to the couch and zonks for hours. It's clear that the staff dote on her and that she has made several besties at daycare. It's so nice to be able to focus on my work day knowing that she is on a big play date, having the time of her life. Communication is also easy and they are reachable through text if I have any questions or concerns. Lizzy, the lovely groomer who runs her Clean Cuts business in Shiloh's Place, also does a awesome job. It's incredibly convenient to pick up my girl all cleaned up with a good nail trim straight from daycare.

The staff was very friendly and the facility was very clean. Our dog was happy and playing with other dogs when we arrived to pick him up. He even got a report card for his day. This will be where we take our dog every time we have to go away and we are so happy it is close by.

I went here for all of my live rats/mice, fish, and rabbit supplies for 8/9 months, loved the place…read moreminus the workers who are rude or uneducated, I live 40 minutes away. Mostly every weekend I would get live mice/rats, however I noticed something weird about a rat I had purchased, thought it was just a spot but come to find out their rats have fleas. It was a MASSIVE flea, which it takes time for a flea to get big. I knew at that moment this is why I have been battling fleas with my three cats for around 8 months because I had never in my life of owning cats have had that issue. Also probably why my ball python who never rejects has been rejecting. Told shop owner about fleas, they said they don't have fleas and all they could do was give me another rat, ( that probably had fleas too ) or my money back for the rat. I was more concerned of the fact Iv spent hundreds of dollars trying to help my poor cats stop itching. Plus my hungry/annoyed ball python. Stop going there all together. I now go straight through a reputable rat/mouse breeder, they are always healthy, plump, and are treated for fleas. Soon after I switched I was able to get rid of the fleas, my ball python is eating again, and I get rats/mice for a quarter of the price. Win win after all of the stress I guess.

We needed to park our nomadic housecat for a couple of weeks while the RV ("home") went into the…read moreshop and we went to a hotel for work. We really hate when she needs to be boarded, because she is a pretty obstinate indoor-outdoor kitty and has no qualms about showing her displeasure when locked in small spaces for any length of time. One of the reasons these folks caught my eye is that they have nice big rooms available for only a few more dollars a day compared to the ubiquitous "cat condo". And while a 4x8 foot space is still kitty prison, at least there is room for impatient pacing. The girls I talked to were very friendly, kept the kennel spotless, and did their part to make the kitty feel at home. They didn't seem to have much of a crowd in residence at the time, but mid-September isn't exactly the peak of vacation season. We opted to bring our own food since the princess is picky, and the room had space for a couple of her personal items (not that those made her any happier about this adventure). Those bonuses and the extra attention she was able to coax out of the staff seemed to keep her stress level at bay. As is usually the case, she didn't speak to us (except to say things that would translate in to four-letter words in any human language) for a few days after picking her up. But she is definitely no worse for wear- no post-kennel PTSD or newfound distrust of the humans.

She has high anxiety, and though she hates being taken there, once she settles in she is very happy. She has a fair sized room to hang out in, with no dogs around to stress her. She has a window to look out, and kind, regular caretakers. However, now I find out they are suddenly closing - I had reservations this summer (2018), but they are closing in the next couple of weeks - permanently! I am very sad and upset about this, as there are no other comparable places nearby that take only cats, or have a cats-only building, except one place that is $39 a day!! Who can afford that?! Anyway, I wish someone would buy the Catnap Inn and keep it open!!
