First time visiting Abbotts Frozen Custard. The restaurant was clean, well organized with nice displays of products. The Staff were welcoming and friendly. Abbotts offers an extensive selection of options: cones, cups, shakes, banana splits even frozen bananas with a good variety of custard flavors and toppings. However the custard had a different texture than I'm used to as I prefer ice cream myself. The single cups with a topping are a little pricey but then again everything is going up in price. For custard lovers this is the place to go with outside seating available weather permitting. read more

We decided to start with a classic cup of chocolate custard, served by a cheerful young woman whose friendliness added a warm touch to the visit. Once back in the car and heading home, the custard proved disappointing. While the texture was smooth and creamy, the flavor fell flat--surprisingly lacking in chocolate richness. We like custard and are very happy that a number of custard shops have popped up over the last few years. Abbott's ranks high among them. Located in a HUGE shopping center, you cannot miss the signage. It is a very clean operation with an extensive menu and offering many custard flavors. Always chocolate, vanilla and chocolate almond flavors of custard. Cones and scoops. Sundaes and splits. Milk shakes and flurries. Floats. And a very long list of toppings and sauces. On our summer treat we had to give Abbott's Frozen Custard a try. The places was empty when we arrived. We got to sample a few of the custards. The flavors were heavy on chocolate that day. We ended up with the Custard Cannoli and a Kiddie Cup of Vanilla. We got the one topping with no name and the employee didn't know what it was either but it was what my niece wanted. The cannoli was premade. It was full of vanilla custard and had loads of chocolate chips on the end. It was frozen solid and took a while to melt. It was good. I shared it with my sister. I didn't wouldn't get it by myself. My niece liked her kiddie cup and finished the whole thing. Abbott's has loads of choices. I love custard and we had been to the Edison Square location of Abbott's once, so on a recent quest to stock up on frozen treats, I paid them a visit here. This location is much more convenient to where I live. There are a few things I didn't like about how they're handing Covid-19. You can order over the phone, but you can't pay over the phone. This means you have to come into the store and hand them your credit card. The employees weren't wearing masks or gloves either. They did have plexiglass up which was nice and customers couldn't go into the freezer for pints, only employees could. The custard is delicious though. I love their unique flavors. They have tons of flavors in pints. I went with fluffernutter, pistachio pineapple, and blueberry pie (3 for $17). The blueberry pie is my favorite followed by pistachio pineapple. Surprisingly, I didn't think fluffernutter was that good (this would usually be my favorite flavor). The peanut butter custard wasn't a strong flavor and I didn't even taste any marshmallow. I definitely recommend the custard. I'm not sure if I'll be back until the situation improves with Covid-19 since there is no curbside/pay over the phone and employees don't wear masks. read more

Great experience here - we arrived right at 11 and doors already unlocked. Great ambiance and I love the blue. Very clean yet with details in the lighting, games on the tables and organized. Plenty of seating including a patio. The vanilla custard was delectable. They only had three flavors available and when I messaged, I got a reply how it depends on if they need to clean machine between etc. I am totally okay with only three flavors in the AM since they are hand made daily. Just a tip that afternoon there may be more flavors available. Cashier was friendly. They do well keeping their social media posts up toBest custard I've had around town and will be sure to return. This was our first time here. We decided late one night on a whim to go out and get ice cream. When looking thru YELP, we noticed Abbott's was frozen custard. I'm from Indiana and it's been awhile since I've had custard so we set off. The staff there was very friendly and was genuinely happy to see us. Seriously, you should come here for their staff. They said their ice cream is made right there. I got a chocolate raspberry custard with heath and chocolate fudge. Very yummy ! The other treats were good too. The custard is not quite as thick as what we have in Indiana. It's a bit more like ice cream. It was very good. There's a few seats outside and the inside is decorated very cute. OMG so YUM! It was my first visit and I was not sure how much I would like it since I'm typically dairy-free. But this time I wanted to splurge and treat myself. The shop was very busy with a line outside the door to the next shop and yet it was still clean. They ensured to practice COVID procedures with signs on the floor where to stand in line and a special way to open the door with your foot instead of touching the door handle, which every place should incorporate. I got a small cookies and cream, and I regret the size. I wish I ordered a large. My friend got chocolate in a waffle cone cup and it looked amazing, they pressed the waffles straight on the spot. The texture of this custard is otherworldly. I ordered the chocolate almond. I thought that it was just chocolate almond flavored and was presently surprised that there were actually slivers of almond in it. This was our first time at Abbott's and it just opened. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. When we did get to the counter, we were staring at the menu until someone greeted us. But once she did she was having side conversations with co-workers while my husband was trying to ask questions. We were new and there was no explanation of the menu or the product. So we both went basic with waffle cones. I got the fudge brownie flavor. The custard was smooth and not overly sweet. I wish there were more brownie chunks in the custard. I own several business and my employees understand how important it is to maintain positive interactions with with customers, especially in the midst of a pandemic. The reality is recurring bussiness strengthens bussiness, it's plenty of other custard shops in the area, Walmart shares the same lot and they have plenty of ice cream. Abbott's corporate values are sometimes not reflected at this location. Back home Abbott's employee experience was very different. This place is definitely Overrated. I tried the chocolate almond and toasted marshmallow. The chocolate almond was okay, but the toasted marshmallow was disgusting. The customer service was also lacking. I told the lady at the register that it was my first time there and asked for recommendations. She only recommended one thing and could not tell me much about the menu. I asked about the flurries and she said they taste like a flurry from any other place. That is definitely bad marketing. You should never compare your brand to competitors in an equal way, you should always give reasons as to why you're better. I will not be returning here. read more

There are no social distencing reminders. So customers are standing extremely close to each other. Today, one of the teenagers who was serving wasn't wearing gloves and with a plastic spoons, was playing/drawing in the ice cream sprinkles. I have been to this place a few times I've observed an older worker making the ice cream without a mask which was a huge turn off and then today I go back to give it another shot. Blake was taking orders and the lady in front of me paid with cash and then proceeded to take our order and I was watching to see if he changed gloves or even wash his hands after handling the money that the lady in front of me paid with.
