There's no place better! Waxhaw creamery has delicious ice cream, creative flavors, and the cutest area to sit outside and enjoy and hopefully see the train go by. The managers here treat their employees terribly. They are extremely hypocritical, telling the employees one thing then doing the opposite. They also gossip about certain employees to other employees. This is extremely immature especially for MANAGERS. They are always very rude whenever I go here. The woman speaks extremely monotone and sometimes I hear her yell at her employees. While I love the ice cream and the small-town feel of the shop, I extremely dislike the owners. read more

I noticed maybe three people behind the counter, and three salespeople on the same side of the counter as myself. They were selling their pitch as I was left standing for 4mins waiting to order. No one said anything to me and I know they saw me, I'm 6'4 tall black man. Needless to say I turned and walked out, still not one word. But we know what we like and that was it! I ordered a scoop in a sugar cone. I probably should have gone with a cup. The scoop was so big that it hung over the cone by quite a lot. It was a hot day in Waxhaw so I had to eat quickly. So quickly I gave myself a brain freeze. That was unpleasent. But the ice cream was really good. It is rich and creamy. A delicious local creamery found in the cute, little town of Waxhaw! We got the pumpkin and mint chocolate chip ice cream in a waffle bowl. They were pretty generous with the size of the scoops. My favorite was the pumpkin, and it was probably one of the best ones I've had! It's so creamy and you can actually taste the pumpkin. It doesn't taste artificial either. Their waffle bowl was crunchy and the perfect addition to their ice cream! Their COVID regulations are A+! When in downtown Waxhaw, this is a definite must stop ice cream shop. I read the reviews and my daughter has been here many times but I had to see for myself. Well this weekend, I dropped in and there wasn't too much of a long line so I was able to order my ice cream quickly and be served quickly as well. The the creamery is a medium size shop with not much seating but I was fine with this because my daughter and I decide to walk afterwards. The waitstaff and associates are wonderful, friendly and patient which helped because I really needed some time to decide what I wanted because they offer so many different flavors. I decided to go with Salted Caramel which was very creamy, delicious and the scoops were big. I believe everything is freshly made daily and they do have seasonal flavors during the year. Went to get some ice cream today after lunch. We ordered a large sundae with wet walnuts. It was delicious to say the least. I didn't go in thinking about getting a sample, however, when there are so many options at a new ice cream store, I will often ask for one. This was such a negative put off for me. Whilst the ice cream is good, we had to stick with the kind we knew that we would like. There is no opportunity to taste new flavors, as there are no samples given. When I commented how will we know what kind to order if we can't try it, the answer was "too many people come in and ask for samples and then leave without buying." We were two families totaling 7 guests. The attitude was too-bad-so-sad! I assure you, we did not all pile in the minivan and schlep downtown for a sample of ice cream to leave without making a purchase. After reading some other reviews, I now know that I'm not crazy. Every time my family & I go here, over the last 2 years, the vibe & attitude of this place is off. I would say borderline rude, but more so just not friendly. My wife & I just can't figure out why. Is it the time of day we go? Do they get overly stressed when too many customers or big families come in? No one seems to care or appreciate that you are there. The guy (which may be the owner) always seems impatient or like he's annoyed. We feel like we are inconveniencing them when we ask for samples, especially more than one. The only reasons we still go here are b/c we live in Waxhaw (convenience), we like to support local businesses, and the handmade ice cream & sorbets are very good. Our last visit was probably the most unwelcoming feeling we have had to date. When we want great ice cream & great attitudes, we go to The Local Scoop in the Promenade on Providence. It also has great handmade ice cream & sorbet. We don't go often b/c it isn't close to us, but when we go it's always a great experience. The workers talk & laugh with you no matter how busy they are. They encourage you to try as many flavors as possible to make sure you find what you are looking for. When the owner (Ralph from Syracuse) is there, he makes you feel like you are the only customer there & he is genuinely appreciative of your support. I hope he opens a place in Waxhaw. read more
