I love ABC Carpet. They have great furniture and rugs, BUT THEIR SERVICE !! HORRIBLE. I purchased a credenza and paid over 1K. It was delivered and the drawers were not even, it had to be fixed, took over a week for them to replace it and with the new replacement, same thing. I said must be a defect with the piece. they refused to refund me. I said fine, replace it again and make sure there are no problems. I was told no, but a repair person will fix it. FINE, last chance!! AND of course another day wasted waiting for the repair guy, he went to wrong home and said he can no longer come because it was LATE. REALLY WT.... So now I have to wait again. It's been OVER a month. I am about to call AMEX and dispute this charge. NO one has even called to apologize what has happened. ALL they care about is their numbers for the store. OH and I also ordered a SOFA from the Manhattan store and no one has gotten back to me as when it will be delivered. A lot of my friends were right. HORRIBLE SERVICE, Great furniture. This place would be great if I made 6 figures so I could afford to buy anything, or if I lived in a castle so I could actually fit some of the beautiful antiques they sell here. Some really nice stuff. I fell in love with some of the old antique furniture. But very early on, I resigned myself to just looking, as some (rather, most) of the price tags here gave me palpitations. Of course the rug selection is crazy, although they are piled high and you have to ask for help in having them flipped back so you can see them all. Again, the price tag issue.... Its in a random part of the Bronx. We were a block away when an NYPD tow truck pulled up next to us, towing a Dodge Durango with bullet holes in it. Each hole had writing next to it, like forensic notations. Eerie. You know, I still think that the prices are a little too rich for my blood, but you do find some decent options after hunting a while. Like a gorgeous Chinese reproduction cabinet for only around $300 or a decent wool rug for $199. Hunting is the operative word, because the amount of sticker shock I had while trying to search for an outlet find was a little on the high end. The best part of this place is the carpet/rug area, which is gigantic and provides a wide variety of options and prices. Will I come back? Probably. Do I think it's worth it? Hot deals after some searching. Friendly and laid back staff that are very liberal about further discounts. Got a gorgeous antique Chinese chair for $185. Plush towels from their housewares section for $15 a piece. Towels were so nice we went back to get a few more. Mostly I found myself restrained by the small square footage of our Manhattan apartment. If we had another room it would most definitely be on. Great stuff, and at descent discounts over the NYC storefront. It's a relatively easy drive from Manhattan, and the parking (entrance to which is somewhat small and about 300 feet before the giant store front...we drove right past it the first time). Clearly the items here aren't going to be IKEA prices, but there are some amazing finds. The carpet section is probably bigger than the ABC carpet in Manhattan. The sales staff is nice, and not pushy. Also, they were offering free delivery, but not sure if that was a just a temporary promotion. Overall, if you're shopping for some nice furniture, check this place out before paying full retail. read more

This is when I wish Yelp has half stars. ABC Outlet is definitely a solid 2.5 stars. Location: 2 stars: I drove around for quite a while, back and forth by this place and then wasn't sure if I was allowed to park in the parking lot. Selection: 3 stars: There really are some great deals to be had here, however, many of the items are still pretty pricey. I liked a lot of the embroidered stools, which were still in the $200 range. Also, I came here with the hopes to find a wedding present of the bedding variety and was unimpressed. Highlights are the furniture and rug sections, I would have defintely been able to do some damage on someone else's dime. I ended up buying a 5' x 7' jute rug for $100. Staff: 2.5 stars: I was pleasantly greeted by a security guard when I entered the store. Sales associates checked in with me periodically while I was wandering, and I liked that no one was pushy. However, I would have liked a little more attention when I was ready to buy something. I didn't get a sense of appreciation or reassurance from the associate who rang my purchase. The men who actually pulled out the rug and carried it to my car were excellent! I will probably go back if I am in the 'hood. read more

Now they basically move stuff from the ABC store in the city and don't really change the prices (I saw our dining room table and chairs there for the same price we paid at the regular ABC). Still a cool store, just should remember they are an outlet and reduce their prices accordingly. read more

I hate bargain shopping, but will do it when we need something quick or budget requires - ABC is not the place to do this & I will never take a client there again. The staff is rude and when they are not rude, they act like jerks. Rather than process and understand simple questions, they behave extremely aggressively and condescendingly - a defense mechanism perhaps- rather than simply listen to the client/buyer. I went there this afternoon, since I had the day off, and I drove. Some things are marked down considerably, and if you're looking for big ticket items, you can do well. I saw the hammered steel fountain they had on the floor for the longest time, filled with wishes and change then, for sale reduced from $8000 to $2000. Something to consider, if you're opening a yoga studio or an Indian restaurant or both. I bought a wrought iron bed at half the online price, and the sales people were very helpful, especially the guy who walked around with the transistor radio playing disco. read more

Not really a bargain store. Some of their furniture is specifically made for the outlet-looks ok for the money, but cheap quality. My husband and I bought a sofa last year and within a few months of light wear, the fabric looked worn out and old. We went there hoping to find some good furniture for our new home but we were very disappointed. Everything was quite outdated and the furniture didn't look like it was good quality. They are more specialized in carpets and have a huge selection but it's overwhelming. The furniture is nice but expensive - overall fine - but the buying/pickup/delivery experience is a nightmare. My sales rep never called me to arrange for pickup of my furniture. It took me a week of leaving him voicemails to get him to call me back. Meanwhile, I'd also left voicemails for his manager - also not returned. They told me I could pick it up from Bronx but they never transferred it there - I had to go to Hackensack. When I arrived, first they were all out to lunch, then they were condescending. I could have had my furniture delivered but the delivery fee from Bronx to Brooklyn was $185. read more

I am really surprised to see some of the negative reviews. My experience was very different. I purchased a desk, 2 chairs and a dresser. The whole transaction was perfect and easy. Raymond was my salesmen who was very helpful and super nice. They were having a 20% sale which helped the experience. The managers name is Patrick and he was a delight. I purchased a desk that was too big when I got it delivered and he was kind enough to let me exchange it although sales are final. They have very unique looking pieces which I like. I bought a small area rug for my sons room. It cost about 400 dollars. It was the least expensive. It was a plain area rug. What a piece of crap. The thread is coming apart everywhere!!!! A lot was definitely out off my price range but there are things that I might be willing to tighten my belt to afford. All in all if you aren't too phased by ABC Carpet on Manhattan. We purchased an antique headboard and footboard from the Bronx outlet about 14 months ago. We are now being told by our exterminator that we cannot keep it as it is COVERED in bedbug excrement and egg sacs. In their estimation it was infested by thousands of bedbugs at some point - and was never properly cleaned. And it is the likely source of the bugs that we are currently combating!! We came to ABC because of reputation and presumed quality. This is NOT what we would expect. Do not buy furniture from ABC. BUYER be AWARE. I would give zero stars if I could. We bought a leather couch from them for $1800. Within 6 months the wheeled two front legs broke off and the leather is completely worn. It looks like a dilapidated mess. We don't have any children and we are both normal sized people - if anything, on the thin side both of us. We have two cats and they could have died when the front legs gave out on the couch - scary. ABC carpet refused to do anything because they said it was a final sale. This is the WORST customer service ever. I think the flatiron store sends all their damaged furniture and poorly made furniture here for sale. You are wasting your money if you buy something here. Please be careful. It may look good, but will fall apart in your home and you will have no recourse. read more

Horrible costumer service. I bought a wall to wall carpet from there last week from one Marlon Greenberg, the laziest, most incompetent sales person I have ever met. The store contracts out the measuring and installing to a guy named Benny. After waiting for days for him to contact me to make an appointment to measure the area, I had to resort to not only calling the sales person who seems to have no influence over the sub-contractor, but the sub-contractor as well. He too didn't seem much interested in making a prompt appointment. I finally ended up cancelling my order instead of waiting indefinitely for these guys to get their acts together. I certainly will be spending my money where the customer and the business is a little more valued and the supervision of sales people and sub-contractors a little more active. read more

Doesn't have quite all the frills of the Flatiron location -organization not quite as on point and less accessories (no picture frames, minimal lighting), but there are certainly some true gems! And don't be afraid to actually talk to the sales associates. The guy helping me was incredibly friendly and threw in an extra discount just because! It's not easy to get to. Once you're there, there's not much help. But man, there's a lot of good furniture here. And unlike the Broadway store, where prices are astronomically high, the Outlet has really reasonable prices. And in many ways it's kind of nice to shop someplace where the salespeople don't hunt you down and badger you. Think of it as an entire morning or afternoon's adventure. Will never buy another piece of furniture from this outlet again. We've bought numerous pieces of furniture-all very expensive. The last piece was a leather couch that was bought about 1year ago. The couch is completely scratched up and worn 1 year later.The sales rep knew we had 2 children and didn't warn about the leather and how sensitive/fragile it is. I called a few months after receiving the couch to explain what was starting to happen and the CS was awful- we spent over $6k on this couch. No recourse to try and recover from the furniture or no offer to try and assist. The sales rep are more interested in receiving their commission. It is truly upsetting the amount of money we have spent at this store and the way the furniture holds up is poor. We've bought kitchen chairs which have started to break now after a year. We also bought a dining room table that scratches very easy. Again, the service staff offers no help. I will never shop at this store again, and don't get me started on the unprofessional sales staff who thought I gave his sale to someone else and called and yelled at me.
