I contacted Al last year. Since moving out to Byers from Denver, remembering to drop off one broken laptop was shelved until This past month. I dropped off my first laptop (husband stepped on it), then while unpacking I found our family collection of old laptops and one desktop. He welcomed them all even if they could only be parted out. 3 out of 5 laptops were fixed and updated. My desktop that Best Buy geek squad swore I could never fix and that the hard drive was fried and inaccessible, Al plugged the hard drive in and moved everything over in under 15 min. The desktop itself just needed an update and new hard drive. I will never trust Best buy like I used to. I will use Al for as long as we both live in the same area. Traveling an hour one way was worth it. The cost of a new laptop fixed 3 laptops and a desktop with spare change. I missed using my laptop (1 year parted). I really missed having a desktop (3 years parted). The two laptops that could only be parted, were well over a decade old. Next drop off is an iPad. Crossing fingers, it doesn't take me another year. Al was professional, communicated everything that could be needed, and was absolutely wonderful when I had my little one with me. Called with any changes and updates with price changes if there were any. There are chairs out front if you arrive early, the quiet sound of the neighborhood is welcoming and peaceful. I have a new laptop and was having trouble setting it up with Windows 11. Al was very helpful, resolved my issues, went beyond my immediate needs and downloaded other aps that I needed. I needed him to set up my printer so that it could connect to it wirelessly. When I got home he accessed my computer remotely and set up my printer so that I could use it wirelessly. Found this guy on Craigslist. Close to work so I brought my laptop to him. Looks like he is renting a space from a pawnshop. He did an excellent job on cleaning out the crap I don't need, reinstalling some systems, adding more memory. And the price! Oh, I loved the price! It was about 60 % less than Big Box geniuses wanted to charge me. And it was done in one afternoon so I was able to pick it up right after work. He also works on Saturday. read more

I am delighted with the service and price I got for the work done on my laptop by Al at the "pawn shop". My hard drive needed to be wiped and all the programming restored. Yelp lead me here. Yes, it is in the pawn shop. The work done for me was fast and top-notch. I'm no computer expert, or anything close to it, but my understanding from those who know more than me is that replacing a mother board is a major repair that only a few shops in the Denver-area do. Assuming that's true, then I was lucky to essentially stumble upon ABC Denver Computer Repair. They disassembled my nonfunctional laptop the day I brought it in, ordered a mother board as soon as that appeared to be the part I needed replaced and I gave the "okay," and then quickly installed the mother board once it arrived. Also, as an added bonus, they thoroughly cleaned each key on my keyboard by hand to ensure it was functioning properly. You can go to some Big Corporate repair place like Geek Squad if you'd like. But I say go here instead. I can't speak to ABC's prices with authority, as I didn't get any other price quotes for repairing my laptop before going with ABC. But I'm willing to venture that ABC Denver Computer Repair is competitive with, and likely cheaper than, most other local repair shops' prices. read more
