I've purchased several pieces of jewelry among other items and their selection is much better than Thornton's Pawn. A jewelry store may have more jewelry to choose from but you will pay much more. I prefer to purchase at Gateway and one other pawn shop for jewelry. I receive a much better deal. Gateway has two locations with jewelry to choose from. They are far more reputable in my opinion. The owner and staff are so friendly and accommodating in every possible way.

I was told they were going to custom order the mount to fit the the stone and I had other things I wanted to add to the ring it was going to take 4-6 weeks to come in. my boyfriend gets the ring and tell me it looks different ,it's a whole other ring! not the one i chose . I went to the store Josh is a super great guy made me feel like i wasn't crazy but Renae said in front of me "i told you not to show or tell her" . after talking she made me feel like the ring i chose was stupid. said the base is to small diamonds are going to knock out everyone comes in for that issue it wasn't worth it and the ring they ordered is bigger and better but if i wanted they can order the ring i want but it would take 4-6 weeks again. only reason i didn't go with that is because i dont have 4-6 weeks to wait he had a plan and time frame a very tight one. if she offered a rush on the order i would have said yes let's get my dream ring but no this screwed this exciting step for us up. There was no apologies just a simple this ring is bigger and better and he shouldn't have showed me in the first place. I want the ring I chose but i feel like if we were to order it it still wouldn't be what I imagined and hoped for. I thought they specialized in custom rings and had a in house jeweler but the ring i got wasn't my custom one just one order off of Gabriel. They completely lost my trust , there was no paper or records on the ring so we decided we had to get it appraised to make sure one thing was right. Unfortunately we won't be coming back for our wedding bands. Josh was a great jeweler and helped me imagine and customize my dream ring . Any professional will be able to do this in your presence. He was gone for ages. During that time my mom browsed and found about a half-dozen pieces that she was interested in purchasing. When he finally returned to the front of the store he said that the face of the watch fell off by accident and he lost the tiny second hand. She asked if she could go in the back room and look for it. He said no, the area was such a mess, she would never find it. He offered to have his usual out-of-town watch repair person fix it. She shipped the watch to his preferred shop. The repair cost $25, the shipping to and from with insurance was $20. He refused to pay any of it. This is beyond unconscionable. I have never met any business person who broke something and didn't take responsibility for it. He boasts that he sells Rolexes. He flaunts ruby rings on his Facebook page. But he's too cheap and to pay $45 for his own blundering. My mom is a hard working person. Totally unjust treatment -- of a senior citizen at that. Plus he lost her business regarding the items that she would have bought. To cut off your nose to spite your face is never good. Really disgusting behavior Ed Culbreth.
