I'm adding onto my review because I realized my original review did not mention much about the second driving instructor I had. The second driving instructor, named Danny, was odd. At one point, he ate food and used his spoon to fling stuff out of the car window. During one session, he had me stop at Mile Square Park, and he left the car to go feed bread to birds. He came back to the car to get more bread to go feed birds some more. He also used his phone a lot while I was driving, and he sometimes would not watch as I was driving because he was looking at his phone. He did not respond to questions that I asked him. I guess he was at least better than the first driving instructor who was a creep and sexually harassed me though. Additionally, the owner, Tran Nien is useless and awful. He said that the driving school is not responsible for any driving instructor. Do not waste your money here. read more

My grandma had found this driving school for me and I was initially under the assumption that the school that the instructor (Tuan) was operating under was Hi Driving School. When I had first begun driving with Tuan, I was under the assumption that I was being too critical of the fact that he was constantly telling me to slow down on the main road even though I was going at the speed limit. Tuan would also keep telling me to brake and slow down during my turns, which at one point he told me to stop mid turn in the middle of the road which lead to me being honked at. I tried to ask for clarification on what he meant by slow down during my turns, and he told me to go 10-15 in the speed limit. Tuan would also constantly tell me to practice my hand over hand turns, but would keep taking the wheel from my hand when I attempted to do the method while making a turn. I had eventually gotten sick of feeling like I made no progress from doing my 2 lessons with him because he was constantly making me stall myself on the main road, causing people to honk and get mad at me. I called the Hi Driving School to try and change my instructor, as he was operating under this school's name on his business card, but whoever was on the phone that day decided to send me an unprofessional text when I had simply asked if I could change my instructor (see text screenshot below). It was not until I attempted to find a different driving school that I found a text screenshot left by someone else who reviewed this school, which showed the same texting style that Tuan used with me, and I found out that this was the actual driving school he was operating under. Overall, Tuan is around 70-80's age range, and I thought I was being way too critical of him telling me to go too slow on the main road, but after reading these reviews I realize that my experience aligned perfectly with prior experiences of other people with Tuan. I took Chu Tuan 3 years ago for my driving lessons and to pass my driving test. I took him again today since I took 3 years off of driving and wanted to practice again with some tips for freeway and parking. His phone number is (714) 715-4612. Chu Tuan is a very nice instructor and is probably around 70. The car we used to practice has a brake and gas pedal also on the passenger seat so it does feel slightly safer. His car is pretty old I am thinking it is a 1990 Toyota so you would need to apply more pressure on the gas pedal and it is slightly hard to adjust the seat and gas pedal. I will be honest the car is easier to drive with compared to a newer car since it can't really go that fast and tends to shake a lot. It is only 30/hr and $400 for the unlimited lessons until you pass. Obviously, he would try to make you take the test early so he doesn't have to teach you anymore. It was required for two hours for a lesson so I pay $60 in total. He help me practice driving for 20 mins on the freeway and the rest was making turns, changing lane, parking and backup parking. He is very nice and when you make a mistake, he doesn't yell at you. He teaches you the basics but you would need more practice to be a skillful driver. He tells you when to turn befhorehands and often use his hand to tell you to drive slower, or to adjust your driving. He also speaks English and Vietnamese but prefer Vietnamese here. I would recommend if you want a reasonably priced instructor to teach you driving. I do see that there is alot of complaints for this school but the high expectations shouldn't be too high I would say. It is crazy CHEAP for lessons here. It is a you get what you pay for here. If you want to pay more to get better lessons, you should go to somewhere else. read more

HORRIBLE - HORRIBLE - HORRIBLE In conclusion, I had my first lesson on Monday, 10-01-18 and I would NEVER COME BACK EVER AGAIN. Details: My father called the teacher, it is an old Vietnamese man with broken English and he said she's going to come Monday (10/01/18) AT 3:00 PM and guess what? THAT DUDE DID NOT CAME. I called him at 4:00 PM and asked him where he is and HE SAID HE FORGOT! Like seriously, it is his job and he should be more punctual. He then said he's coming at 5:00, 5:45 PM rolls around and he is finally there. When he was there he parked and then someone at my house came home and he had to backup and ALMOST CRASHED INTO MY PARENTS'S CAR! Like, you're not looking too creditable now with your Little Saigon driving style. When that was out of the way I got in the car (Keep in mind I have never operated a car ever in my life until now) and HE JUST TELLS ME TO GET IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE and DRIVE!! Seriously no tutorial or anything? That's horrible. He then showed me to turn and his directions are bad He said to "Step on the breaks" and check both sides left and right IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET instead of up near the stop sign and I couldn't see cars coming. THEN HE TELLS ME TO TURN WHEN THERE WAS A CAR HEADING TOWARDS ME!!! I didn't because I saw and I have common sense. Later on we stopped at an intersection and HE TELLS ME TO TURN AGAIN, when there's a car that was already stopped up ahead, about to go straight. REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD TEACHER, HE EVEN TALKS ON THE PHONE WHILE HE WAS TEACHING ME AND DID NOT PAY ATTENTION AND IT WAS My FIRST TIME! If I could give 0 star, I would! However, since I need a star to write a review so here it goes. I'm not exactly sure if this is his side job but he handed me a card with his name and this company. My mom found out about him through a friend. He charged us 400$ for barely any hours, he didn't even teach me how to parallel park or drive on freeway. First of all, the instructor does NOT how to be on time, very horrible at it!!!!!!! How is it possible that I already told him my availability and he still managed to be super late. I'm a busy college student, I also work part time , so time is very restricted for me Second, he kept trying to convince my parents and me to let me take the test. As much as I said no, he said I already know how to drive, I should just get the license. I was really annoyed because this guy is obviously just want to make quick money from us. I kept saying no until one day he seriously just scheduled a date. I secretly hope that I fail just so I can throw it in his face, but of course I had the easiest exam. After I passed, he let me drove on freeway once and that's it . I never able to get a hold of him again Third, sometimes he taught 2 of us at once, talk about trying to make quick money . so please please, if you ever want to actually learn how to drive, find somewhere else. read more

The office is right above Tastea. The place is a little ghetto, but the service is great The instructor was an old Vietnamese man. He's never in his office because he's either with a student or at home. The reason behind that is because he works solo. I called and he came pretty quick to the office. So call him before you come to the office. $180 for 6 hours behind the wheel for 3 sessions. No complaints since I did improve a lot within 6 hours. read more

My mom was referred to this place by her friend who passed her driving test. My mom's friend had trouble learning how to drive since she was afraid of driving and apparently this place helped her. Note, my mom's friend is around 50 years old. Just like what Brian said, the instructor that my mom's friend and I (and now my younger brother) is this old Vietnamese guy who looks like this sweet guy to the older Vietnamese people. You pay him $400 in CASH to teach you how to drive and it's until you pass the driving test for your license. It's only for your license, and he doesn't teach you anything outside of that, so if you really want to learn how to drive, then good luck. He also only teaches you in empty neighborhoods and only one or two streets that are always really empty. This doesn't teach you how to drive in real life AT ALL. He also doesn't teach you how to park in the parking lot, and he only goes over how to parallel park with you once for a couple minutes. The lessons always involves you going into an empty neighborhood, and always turning either right or left. And if you do it too slowly or too fast for his liking, he'll start yelling at you about how stupid you are for not doing it how he wants you to do it. He's also always on the phone talking to someone, and when his friends call him to go to a cafe and drink coffee/talk to them, the lesson would end early and I would have to go pick up his friends wherever they are. He also never makes time for you in his schedule so he'll have you drive in the early morning on a Saturday. He'll only let you have one lesson with him a week because he doesn't have "time" for you. I also had a couple times scheduled with him and he would cancel it an hour or so early because he forgot that he had other appointments scheduled with someone else, or he's out of town with his friends and he forgot to call. read more

This place is really cheap...and not in a good way. The price was very cheap and so was the instruction. I took two BTW classes at 1 hour each. The whole time we went in a square (block radius) and he would just point left or right when i got to a corner and never said anything (unless he was talking on his phone and texting) I LEARNED NOTHING and was still scared to drive. He made me feel very insecure. He even asked 'where are you from...are you from america....and you're 23....why don't you know how to drive?) When he first picked me up I said "you just want me to get in the drivers side?" he said "don't you know how to drive?" "i said "no, that's why I'm taking this class" VERY VERY VERY unprofessional! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!!!!! I finally found a great driving school and with only 3 classes obtained my DL. Check out my profile for that review. This place is so bad it doesn't even deserve any stars. I only had the grumpy old man for a day and I despised him. I'm not cutting him any slacks even if he is old. He is just terrible. For my lesson with him, I basically drove around the same neighborhood for over 100 times! Plus, he was constantly coughing and it sounded like he had mucous in his lungs or something. It was so disgusting! Not to mention I wasn't technically driving since he had his hands on the steering wheels all the time! The old man shouldn't even be teaching if all he's scared of dying. Mind as well retire. I only went onto the streets once just for him to check out this store but it was closed. This was one of the worst driving experience I had ever had. I am very UNSATISFIED with my experience at this driving school and my time with my instructor was HORRIBLE. On the first day, we came 2 minutes late and he started to complain, and we were forced to say sorry many times, but the next day, he kept us waiting for 20 minutes with no excuses or apologies. Um, hello? I am YOUR CUSTOMER, not YOUR PEROSNAL SERVANT or something. He can't expect everyone to be there right on time! For his training, he kept SCREAMING at me and I terrified, nervous, pissed, and distracted me from the road and from learning. Plus he SPITS on me on PURPOSE! I was like, EXCUSE ME? I'M PAYING YOU to TEACH ME drive, and not PAYING YOU yell at me. Most if the time, he didn't have any patience and was basically just driving for me. I'M the student, not HIM! Furthermore, while he was training, he was chatting on the phone, but not about work or driving schools, but had a PERSONAL conversation with several people! What if I hit a car or something? I bet he would just BLAME it all on me! And if that wasn't enough, he made me drive to HIS HOUSE so HE could eat lunch for THIRTY MINUTES while I had to wait outside in the car with no air conditioning, and it was a BURNING 90 degrees! He was like, "I'm hungry so I'LL eat," but he didn't let ME go somewhere to eat and I basically starved to death, cause I was taking lessons for hours in one day. IN ADDITION, he went back to his office and CUT SHORT THE LESSON BY LIKE HALF AN HOUR so HE could do work with another customer while I had to wait. It took me all my power to resist the urge to STRANGLE him. I was SO RELIEVED when I finished my 6 hours with him. I feel lils he just wanted to take the money and and and take this time to scream at everyone. If I could rate this negative stars, you bet I would, and by A LOT.
