We had 2 informative consultations with ABC & got up to the part where we received resumes of possible candidates. It can be a stressful process with all there is to navigate (finding candidates, background checks, becoming an employer, etc.) but ABC is there to guide you through it which is just what we needed. I am a professional nanny and have signed up with the agency about a year ago. My initial encounter with a couple of agents were quite pleasant BUT as far as it goes in my case - during that whole year I got granted 2 interviews. I am saying "granted" because no one listened what I truly wanted or felt capable and inspired of doing, but rather they were telling me what I am not eligible for (according to their awesome matching system). A system is a system, but the caregiving field requires a lot of personal touch, adjustments, a lot more understanding and intuition. None of the agents even attempted to show that... again - they were automatically repeating if it's a good match according to their system or not. I felt they were completely missing the point...completely! I did not get any suport or guidance from any of the agents. But the worst thing was - the communicattion. It would take me to write a few messages and wait one or two weeks, sometimes even longer to get a response... which is frustrating. The most ridiculous one was - after one (out of 2 interviews) I did not get any response from the agency. Then I asked about it myself - apparently the answer was not ready. Then I waited for quite a bit, asked them again - no resonse. So, what I ended up doing - I wrote the family and had to ask them. It felt very unprofessional, it felt like I was on my own. So, my conclusion is - if you are young, just starting your career as a nanny with a lack of experience - probably you'll be open enough to navigate agency's rules and be pushed around. If you are professional, experienced, looking to make a difference or some sence - do not put your expectations into them. Amazing, because we would potentially be using the same sitter on an ongoing basis assuming it went well. Also amazing because their website clearly says they offer this service. They helped guide me through the process of part-time vs full time and what would be the best fit for what I was looking for. We use ABC Nannies for their Temporary Nanny placement services, primarily their Emergency Temporary Nanny service, which I'm pretty sure is the single greatest service available to any working parent (tied only with maybe Amazon Prime!). Basically, for a fee of either $30 on a one-off basis or, if you pay $100 annually to become a member, for $20 each time, you have access to their average of 150 daily available background checked nannies who can be available at your house that day. So, for us, as an example, in the middle of the night and my daughter had puked for the 3rd time, we left a message at 1:30am. At 8am, we received a call as soon as their office opened confirming our needs. At 8:45am, they called back to tell us a nanny was placed and sent an email with her info and bio. The nanny called 5 minutes later and was at our house by 9:30am. The nanny had 15 years of experience and was great! She was even reasonably priced. Without family nearby, this ABC Nannies' service is really our life saver. I don't know how we survived without it before. read more

We have worked with ABC now for two different nannies. They helped us find our original nanny and the process could not have been easier. They spent time getting to know us and our needs and carefully considered our individual family when reviewing applicants. We were given three very qualified applicants but absolutely loved the very first nanny we interviewed and hired her almost on the spot. Our original nanny was a dream come true and exactly what our family needed during some very stressful times with my son's health issues as a little guy. Sadly our sweet nanny injured her back badly and ended up needing to leave us. This threw quite a wrench into our lives, and we couldn't imagine finding someone as wonderful. I immediately called ABC and they jumped into action not only starting a new search for a permanent nanny for us but also got us set up with their temporary nanny service to tide us over. They have a great app that allows you to see all the previously vetted/interviewed temp nannies and their availability. You can then invite them to accept a job with you and communicate ahead of time as needed. We used probably 5 different temporary nannies all of whom were great! It was a bit unnerving to have someone arrive to care for your child knowing next to nothing about them, but they were all kind, caring, and responsible sitters and our son adored them. ABC was able to give us two further permanent nannies to interview within about a week which was amazing! We really liked one and loved the other! She's been with us now for almost 3 months and she is fabulous! She has the perfect personality for what our son needs at this point in her life and has really been the perfect match for us. I really can't say enough about how easy and stress-free it's been to work with ABC. They are a very professional group and have been responsive to all of our strange situations. Having now worked with many different departments within ABC, I can confidently say that every individual we've worked with has genuinely cared and had our best interest at heart. Their services are not inexpensive, however, the comfort of knowing all the work that has gone into finding the perfect caregiver and knowing that if something unforeseen should happen, you are not alone in dealing with it....that's priceless in my opinion! As a childcare provider, the services provided by ABC are completely invaluable. At no cost to the nanny, ABC checks references, runs background checks, creates cover letters, and applies us to any family they think would be a mutually good fit. It took so much pressure off of me as a nanny. While the placement process can feel long (it took about 1 month and 4 interviews to find a perfect match, so not horribly long but it can feel that way if money is tight), the end result is worth the wait. Mary at ABC really stressed the importance of waiting for a perfect match and not just jumping on the first offer that came my way, and she was so right. I'm currently working with a family that I absolutely adore and I'm told it's mutual; I can easily see myself staying with them for many years.
