Childbirth is traumatic on their little bodies and an early adjustment of my newborns did wonders for them. My second born experienced terrible colic. We thought it was related to a tongue and lip tie, which we had released, but that didn't take away the colic. We then called Dr Teri, and she performed craniosacral / myofascia release on him at 8-10 weeks old and it was like witnessing a miracle. I handed her an extremely colicky and tense/tight baby and she handed me back a very relaxed baby who no longer showed any colicky symptoms. Our provider was a now show, and, after 30 minutes, we called, only to get an answering machine. They returned that call more than 3 hours later. Luckily, we were able to find an alternate caregiver, a family friend, to come help. My mother, 91 years old with dementia, was in bed almost 2 hours later than normal, soaking wet. My wife kept trying to call, and, finally talked to the owner. His solution, especially after already having someone on the way, was unacceptable. There is no excuse for not following your own call in procedure that you sell yourself on. This company cannot be trusted to care for the elderly.

But Dr. Connors or something along those lines rubbed me the wrong way more than once. We were measuring my wingspan and she kept complaining about me to the nurse in front of my face. Saying stuff like "she won't stop moving." "she can't stay still." "she won't keep her hand there." Like, I don't know what I'm doing. Then she was checking for stretch marks she didn't give me any warning or ask if it was okay, she just grabbed my waistband at the back and tugged it open. She looked straight down in my underwear. No warning. No consent. Yes, I understand EDS and stretch marks go hand in hand, but you need to warn someone about that and get the okay. Especially a minor (I'm 16).

I have benefited from other hospice organizations for other family members and after experiencing QCH I will ALWAYS choose them from now on!! Here is why... I wanted in-HOME care for my mother who had lung cancer that spread to the brain. She was a smoker of 53 years. In the past, we had used another hospice company with in-FACILITY care for my father who had oral cancer, lost his jaw, and was bleeding consistently from his trachea implant. This in-FACILITY care was good. When we used the same company for in-HOME care for my mother, the care was less than desirable. That was when I realized that Queen City Hospice was a true GEM!!! All elder care IS NOT equal!!! While the other facility had visited our home in the days beforehand, I still did not have the needed equipment or actual physical support. On a surprise Saturday morning, my mother drastically declined, falling while trying to walk. As I was trying to help my mother get up to a safe place and tending to my 2 year old son screaming at my leg, I called the our original hospice in a panic, needing serious help from an aid. I was told that aids do not work on the weekend. I wish I had known this point and understood what that really meant in practice, not just theory. The reality meant- I was totally on my own for the weekends, including the soon emerging emergency on my hands. Luckily, a neighbor recommended Queen City Hospice, I called, and without delay they came to the rescue!! Within hours of a phone call we had transferred hospice centers, we had oxygen, a hospital bed, bedside commode, medicine, a nebulizer, and 24 hour--round-the-clock care so I could rest amongst other benefits. The QCH nurses and staff were AMAZING!!! It was like having family here in a strange city. They were there to listen when I needed to talk, and stayed out of the way when I did not. Everyone was super experienced and knowledgeable. I have never experienced such love, concern, care, and beautiful compassion like I did from Paul and his team. My mother died in my arms 48 hours later. Thankfully the nurse at the bedside prepped me for everything that was happening. I really felt she passed without pain and in peace like she always wanted. For a brief moment, neither one of us felt fear and we were able to focus on our bond, our relationship, all because of the incredible care of Queen City Hospice!

I felt she needed t see someone qualified, yeat nervous because she was so bottled up and wouldn't talk. Upon the fist visit, after she spoke with Roger alone, my child walked out like the world wasn't on her back. She was smiling and happy and very eager which to this day to see him. Roger has cause my daughter to start to heal and open up in a way that no one can. This is a man that cares and has even worked with my child's busy scheduele to get her in the same day, or even for a late appt to talk to her. Overall, very poor business ethics/ integrity in how they run their business. I had concerns that I brought to their attention and in a phone call trying to discuss them, Dr. Bowen was very disrespectful and unprofessional in every way (especially for a doctor and me being the father of the child that had legitimate concerns). The way he talked to me makes me fear for the next individuals that choose to use his practice not knowing what's beneath the surface with him and his staff. If there was a way to give a zero on this review I certainly would have. I've never had a billing problem and test results are received quickly. They're proactive in letting the patient know test results, following up with a call from the nurse or the doctor directly. Both offices (there's one in Clifton and one in Hamilton) are small but very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend them!
