He arrived on time, explained his inspection process and let us know that if we had any questions, no matter how small, that he would be more than happy to answer them. He was charismatic in a way that felt like we were catching up with a long time, trusted friend and presented himself with an assuredness that instantly calmed our anxieties about the process. Most importantly, he showed a genuine enthusiasm about inspecting our potential home that can only come from someone who really loves and takes pride in what they do. He was meticulous in looking over every aspect of the house and called attention to issues he thought were important for us to know during the inspection so that there weren't't any surprises at the end. Explanations always included what the issue was, why he thought it needed to be fixed or how it could be a problem in the future. Aspects of the home that were technically safe and appropriate for when the house was built but not up to modern building code were also brought to our attention. Despite having to point out the issues, Martin was also thrilled to show us unique aspects of the home or share what he thought were positives about the property. At certain points, it felt like he was more excited about the property than we were! After the inspection, we felt confident that we knew the condition of the home, what issues would need to be addressed further and educated about the general maintenance we should expect to do as new homeowners. We received the inspection report within 24 hours and as Martin promised, there wasn't anything in it that felt like a surprise to us or that hadn't already been discussed. It was well organized, extremely detailed and a great reference to show other contractors exactly what issues we would like to have checked out further. He was available if we had questions or needed an experienced eye to review a concern we were having about other reports. Overall, Martin was an essential part of our home buying process and a key factor in helping us make the right decision. Knowing that all properties quickly sell-out during graduation weekend, we had this place reserved with deposit paid over one year in advance of our stay. Last month (January '20), I received an email from them stating that: "Rainbow Ventures will no longer be handling the Vacation Rental portion of our Business. The property owners will themselves find new management companies to handle their houses. We have given your booking information to the property's owner of 311 Sandpiper and they will pass your reservation on to the new Management Company who will then contact you. Hopefully, the transition will go smoothly". Needless to say, no one has contacted me from a "new management company". I have emailed, called all three numbers on their website multiple times, and yet no one calls me back. The only thing I received back from them is "call Airbnb". The problem is not on the Airbnb side, it is on the Rainbow side as they are the ones who have reneged on the contract. All I want is to have the contact information for the house owner/property manager so that I can confirm my reservation will be honored. Given this whole transaction doesn't pass the "stink test", there are surely other issues going on with Rainbow Ventures that are being left unsaid. Stay away from this business. Given this experience, I would never enter into any kind of transaction with these individuals. It shows on their website that both mother and daughter are brokers: I would NEVER trust them on a real estate purchase. In reading the Yelp reviews, notice the consistent threads: - Poor communication - Poor attitudes when communicating - Dirty homes - Always not their problem (missing keys, Airbnb's fault, etc) We have used Airbnb homes all over the world, and this is the only time we have had a major issue like this. During that process, the home inspection report performed by Taylor from the previous attempted buyer was shared with us. Their detailed report gave us the much needed insight into realizing how much work this home actually needed. The real estate agent tried down playing it and claimed the report was overly critical. Given the extent of the needed repairs, we were able to make the decision to avoid overpaying for a money pit. Sad to not get the home, but happy to not be living in a house that would have been constantly under construction to make it safe to live in.

This study was furnished by a reputable and local foundation repair company. The fact that Mark Kelly is discounting the problem and then avoids communicating over the phone to solve the issue speaks to his lack of integrity and customer service. A 1 inch crack in my home's foundation was missed by Mr. Kelly. The crack runs down the cripple wall and through the footing. You could see daylight through it from the crawlspace. He should at least try to rectify the situation by running it through his insurance if he has any. At the very least talk to me over the phone. We may able to agree on something before I take him to court.
