Our family's Ford Explorer required a water pump replacement…read more I visited several local auto shops to obtain quotes and was shocked, disappointed, and discouraged at the prices I was being quoted for the work my vehicle required ($5,000-$7,500) Shame on me for not reading Yelp reviews before wasting my time visiting other auto shops. I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. It has been great so decide to get my 2002 Ford Explorer done here. The explorer was jerky only after a cold start so we tried going with a smaller fix before doing a full rebuild. I was quoted around $1k. It took around 5 days before I got my car back. He gave me a warranty of 2 weeks, full credit towards a rebuild, or after 2 weeks for 6 months, it would be $500 credit. The car was driving fine except during traffic so I had to bring it back in to get the full rebuild. It costed around $3k but I paid $2k since I got the $1k credited back. It has been a week, and the car has been fine since then. I recommend Leeco Transmission as they are very honest and kind. Sam was always friendly and does a good job. I believe they have employees here who speak mandarin or korean if needed. They do not have parking here, you just drive your car in.

They replaced my intake manifold gasket, BUT a P0200 engine code appeared afterward. I went back the next day and explained the issue. They told me they had left an injector unplugged and instructed me to clear the code, saying it would reset. The code was P0200, so I followed their instructions and cleared it. The code went away. The next day, I drove the car and it suddenly started shaking while sitting at red lights -- something it had never done in the five years I've owned this car. I checked the engine codes again, and P0200 had returned. I went back again and explained what I had experienced. They then told me that, in order to address the P0200 issue, they would first have to start by checking for vacuum leaks. This is where I became frustrated. P0200 is an injector circuit malfunction code, so I didn't understand why I was being told that I needed to start with vacuum leaks in order to address that specific code. I had already paid $500 for the initial service, and now I was dealing with a new engine code and a new shaking issue that the car had never had in the five years I've owned it. After declining any further service, I picked up my car from the shop. I then noticed a scratch along with a missing piece of rubber trim on my front bumper. I had not noticed either issue before bringing my car to the shop. The shop claimed they did not hit anything with the car, but they are also ordering me a replacement rubber piece. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience. As a first-time customer, I came in expecting to have my original issue addressed, paid $500 for the service, and left with a new engine code, a new shaking issue, and damage/missing trim that I had not noticed before bringing the car in. Based on my experience, I won't be returning. I would recommend that anyone considering this shop be aware of what happened to me and carefully inspect their vehicle before leaving the shop. World transmission is a family owned business with respectful people. David is very knowledgable and knows his craft. He went over the details of how my transmission worked and how to preserve its lifespan given that it's a 4x4. Christina is very professional and stands by her word. After I left I reviewed their work and noticed the dust shield on one my brakes was carving into the rotor. I phoned in and was asked to bring the truck back and within the hour of bringing it in, had the rotor replaced with a new one. Mind you that the differential was used so the dust shield may have been bent to begin with. But the important thing is that they didn't play the blame game. Instead they took responsibility and within the hour having brought in the truck, I was already driving off the lot with a brand new rotor. I am completely satisfied with the work and the amount that I paid for it. Truly worth the price. As Andre (see previous post) put it in his post, this is place has the best prices in town. Their prices are fair for the amount of work that needed to be done. The only downside in my opinion is that they have too much work and they don't open on weekends other than Saturday to return the cars. Thus the need to take time off of work to deal with all this. Overall though I can say that I will continue to service my truck here as well as brining my other 2 cars which may be long over due for some transmission service.
