Whispering Pines Alpaca Farm - Tamarind Moon is out for a stroll!

We were lucky that the weather cooperated that day, meaning it was a perfect day to visit the farm and not too hot or humid. We visited with four Nigerian dwarf goats, 10 weeks old. They were adorable and so sweet. Danielle is doing a Hobbit and Lord of the Rings theme, which I think is great, so the goats (all male) are Frodo, Sam(wise), Merry, and Pippin. We got to feed them and pet them and just watch them being happy goats, which was really therapeutic. After that, we spent time with the alpacas. Bill showed us how to walk them on a halter. They weren't in the mood for that that day, which was fine with me and my sister. We wanted what was best for the animals. We got to feed them and hose them down a little, and we learned a lot about both the goats and alpacas. Danielle was an elementary schoolteacher, and so she's great at communication and putting you at ease. They saved the alpacas they have from overcrowded conditions, so we were very happy to hear that. Now the alpacas can spread out and soak up the open space. I looked at various alpaca farms online, and there are many. Why did I choose Whispering Pines? Because they offered the longest visit with the animals and farm in general, and they just sounded like the best. We're very happy we chose them. Rest assured, Danielle and Bill give their animals lots and lots of TLC. After visiting with the animals, my sister and I had lunch on the farm at a picnic table, relaxing in the peace and quiet, watching the alpacas and the goats. Danielle was extremely generous with her time, and so thoughtful with little touches that have a big impact and make you feel special. For example, when we arrived, there was a sign with our names on it welcoming us. At the end of the visit, we got gift bags with our names on them, thanking us for visiting. Honestly, we can't thank Danielle and Bill enough. Our visit was worth way more than what we paid in money; we have a lifetime of memories.

My Husband and I had our ceremony and reception at Woodsedge and it was nothing short of marvelous…read more Our ceremony/reception was in October and we had the fall foliage as our beautiful back drop. Amy and Adam were great the entire night coordinating with the vendors, setting up heaters for our guest, and making sure everything went to plan. We unfortunately had an incident where one of our shuttles took the wrong route and came across a bridge that the bus could not cross. Thankfully Amy and Adam jumped into action and sent down ATVs to pick up our stranded guest. I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone that wants to have a unique wedding with Wonderful llamas and alpacas.

Amy was very responsive, patient, and professional with all of our questions throughout the planning process. When we met her and Brent for the first time in person, we couldn't help but notice how warm and genuine they both were. One of the curveballs we threw them was hanging lanterns randomly throughout the barn. We dropped off the lanterns on the Friday before the wedding and arrived on Saturday afternoon with the entire place transformed. Amy and Brent did an excellent job at executing what was just a vision in our heads. The venue itself is beautiful with such character that emanates from all of the alpacas and llamas and, not to mention, the farm animal wallpaper in the bridal suite. Guests could not stop gushing about the animals and commented about how it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. Two side notes: 1. WoodsEdge is a blank slate venue where you have to take care of catering, rentals, and decor on your own which could be overwhelming for some. 2. We ended up doing a lot of DIYs, some of which required some set up. I recommend printing out or sending some pictures of how you want them set up. This is something that slipped my mind, and some of the decor ended up not looking like how we pictured them. Specifically, the place cards we made were shaped like alpacas and we worked embarassingly hard in designing them so that they could stand up on all fours, but they were never set upright and just laid flat on the table. We highly recommend working with Amy and Brent from WoodsEdge. It ended up being the dream wedding that we never knew we wanted.

This orchard was one of the last ones to still have apple picking available in the first week of November which we were super grateful for. Since most of the remaining apples were on the top of the trees they were thoughtful enough to provide ladders across the orchard which was support useful and made our experience fun and enjoyable. The instructions were very simple and were had the best time enjoying ourselves in the orchard. The apples were absolutely delicious and we also bought other stuff in their store. The apple cider was delicious and so were the Donuts. The donuts were not too greasy and fried perfectly unlike a lot of other places which I absolutely loved. I grabbed a bag for my friend who also loved the donuts so much!! One thing I would love to see here is maybe some sort of savory or fresh food options, like a crepe station or panini situation. I would have loved to sit outside in the picnic tables and have a sandwich. After a whole day of apple picking that is probably the only thing that will push this 5 star experience over the top. If you are looking for a fun, family friendly outdoor activity, please come here!!

I took my kids and visiting family here on a Thursday when the kids had no school. I hear it can…read moreget crowded on the weekends, but on Thursday when we arrived a little before noon, it wasn't bad. They had a steady stream of newcomers but not too crowded. It was fairly easy to find though going there, my map told me to go down a treacherous gravel road which I wasn't terribly fond of. They have a moderately sized parking lot and you'll see this large, red barn. That's where you get your goodies (there's often a line) and where their store is. We stopped by for a treat first. They sell ice cream, cider floats, and what is a "TikTok famous" coffee float with donut. We got: Cider ($4) - I didn't actually drink this. I got it for my kid with food allergies. He wanted ice cream but they do not know if the ice cream they use contains eggs or not so we played it safe. My kid thought it was okay but finally finished it later. He typically prefers regular apple juice. Cider float with donut - you have a choice of no donut for $2 less. It's like a root beer float but with cider instead of root beer, black and orange sprinkles around the time of the cup, whipped cream, and a powdered cider donut over it all. I shared this with my daughter. That donut was delicious! Warm, tender, and crisp on the outside. The drink was great! I do wish it came with a spoon because it got difficult finishing the last of it. Warning: if you have one of these, the bees are coming for you. They use some sort of caramel-like sauce to get the sprinkles to stick. Overall, quite good. Maple cider donut ($3): my sister got this and she said it was amazing, but she said she thought $3 was a bit much (the unglazed donuts are $1.25 each). She's vegan, so didn't partake in the float, but she also wasn't going to ask if there's milk in the donut. If you're getting only donuts, they are purchased in the store. They have tables and chairs nearby for you to picnic and enjoy your treats. Going through the gates, there was a table but they were busy with other people so we walked right in. There is no entrance fee, which was nice. You go through the apple orchard first. It seems like most of the apples have been picked through, though there are a lot of developing apples. Some of the nicer ones were way too tall for us; they don't provide ladders. We only managed to find one that looked nice. At the end, there used to be a sunflower field and the corn maze. It's epic but you don't know how formidable until you're past the point of return and realize it's not a kids maze. We were in there for a while! Even met other kids that thought they'd be lost forever. The corn stalks are taller than a human and they're pretty dense so you can't look over or through them. It's a true maze and I was impressed. I wish they would provide a paper maze puzzle of the corn maze because I'm so curious how it is from above. Lots of dead ends. What I can say is don't lose hope. You'll get there! (When we finally found the exit, it was almost like a dream because we had been staring at corn for so long.) In hindsight, it was good we ate something first. Once done, we explored the sunflowers and saw the pumpkin patch. As we headed out, we went to pay for our lone apple and we discovered THE CORN MAZE IS NOT FREE. It's $10 per adult and $5 per kid. They charged us $1 for the single apple. I guess they work on the honor system? I didn't mind much because that maze clearly took planning. Before we left, we visited the store full of baked goodies. I got a few cider donuts, a dumpling, and a piece of crumb cake because they just brought out a fresh tray. Plus a lattice harvest pie. The pies with crumble aren't vegan, but the lattice pies are made of vegetable shortening. Restrooms! They have a row of port-a-potties by the parking lot. They're actually the cleanest ones I've been to before. No sinks but they do have a dispenser of antibacterial hand gel. The openings are a bit large so if your kid needs to use the toilets, hold onto them. Overall, it was quite enjoyable and I definitely think everyone should go through a corn maze of this caliber at least once in their life. The apple pickings were sparse but at least you get delicious floats and donuts! Note: they have gluten free goodies in the store but they are nut based (almond flour). They also had one gluten free-vegan item.

There wasnt any pumpkin left in the field to pick and the apples were not event there on the trees. I would definitely have to say hand down to the cute little store - there was a bakery side and oh my gosh the donuts , the cookies and the Tik Tok famous drink was out of this world. So the 2 hour trip was definitely worth the drive. The service was okay the individuals behind the counter to order the Tik Tok drink had a bit of a attitude when I was asking about questions. Just stay patient. Other then that I would highly recommend coming here and trying a piece of all of there different donuts and cookies are soo soo good. They even had a pumpkin cider donut which I never had before. Don't forget to stop by and check them out.

Temperature perfect, the sauce!!! and the carrots julienned with the best spice and maybe a pinch of brown sugar (tried guessing because it was so good, these were not carrots ! So much more. And a purple potato mash that was ... I mean everything was beyond our hopes. We chose the fresh fruit desert that had a very unusual combination, 2 of which I'd never had before. I'm now a convert. We were served by Tracy clearly and expert (warm but not making herself the focus) with Brady in training and already up to speed. Some things I noticed. When food came out the whole kitchen came out and served everybody at once! How refreshing to see that. All servers were attentive and paying attention to the entire room. No one felt unnoticed and forgotten. The wonderful woman behind the desk at the entryway, took us on a tour of the event space with complete joy and enthusiasm. She didn't seem put out at all in fact I wanted to just hang out with her for a while. So welcoming. The second we walked in the door everyone said hello to us as if they had known us for years! We just moved here. We had never been there in our lives. The property is perfectly maintained, makes quite a statement, and the new converted barn was my dream barn. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet all the sheep on the property. If any guests come to visit us in our new home in French Town, we're going to recommend they stay there in one of the cottages possibly or the in itself so that they can have the ultimate comfort and the elegance. They would expect in an overnight that I fear, our guest room will not lend itself to. I want to get married again so I can get married there! I want to eat there once a week! Gratitude to my niece who we asked for a recommendation of where we should eat for a nice meal to celebrate my husband, after a big achievement. She has lived here for three years and as a trained nutritionist and chef herself. She said the only place you should go is the Woolverton Inn and its New Restaurant. She will be receiving a gift! Lastly, I was so overwhelmed upon entering the restored barn that I forgot the name of the elegant man who received us with such grace. He's a gracious host and constantly circulated the room keeping an eye on the flow with light personnel suggestions ( potato soup with lobster next time! I promise) and birthday wishes for a large families grandmother. Go, enjoy, stay there, eat there, bring friends there! Bon apetite!
