I was SO surprised with the space -- I haven't been inside an Abercrombie this nice before. Everything was clean, organized, and very appealing. The ambiance of the store made me feel comfortable -- the dim lighting and spacing of everything felt welcoming and not too crowded. Great selection, I found everything I needed. Love the fitting rooms especially, how you can adjust the lighting and music volume. It made me feel like I could take my time a little more in there rather than feeling rushed. Dear Abercrombie & Fitch Customer Care, I am writing to report an extremely concerning incident at your Santa Anita / Arcadia store on November 23 around 6:30 PM. The store manager's behavior was unprofessional, rude, and completely unacceptable. She spoke down to an associate over an incorrectly processed return and, when I asked if she was okay, she glared at me, used a harsh tone, and said "say it to my face" two or three times. I did respond directly, because I would not be intimidated by someone behaving so aggressively. She also accused me of being rude and told me I was "talking too much," even after I retrieved my own phone, which I had handed to her only to review a transaction. I work in retail myself and understand how stressful the holiday season can be, but nothing justifies this level of hostility toward customers or employees. Her behavior made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, and it reflects poorly on Abercrombie & Fitch. The other employees at this location--and at Abercrombie stores in general--are consistently professional, kind, and helpful, which makes this manager's conduct stand out as unacceptable. I strongly urge that her behavior be addressed immediately, including appropriate training or disciplinary action. This type of conduct cannot be tolerated if Abercrombie & Fitch expects to maintain the excellent customer service reputation that your other employees exemplify. Nobody greets you walking in, associates will be around you but will ignore you completely, went to the fitting room, and the one girl running the fitting room was too busy with another customer and didn't bother when I was looking for a fitting room. Talk about being racially profiled. Surprised? Not really. I went into the store today with my wife. She wanted to try a dress on a size extra small, but the only model available was the one on the mannequin. There was other sizes in this model available, but my wife is not medium or large. I asked an associate to allow us to try the size on the mannequin and we could either buy it there or order online. She then went to her manager Tory, and asked if she could remove the dress from the mannequin. Tory told her no and the associate came back to tell us that this was the last model available and could not remove it. I asked to talk to her manager, as a size trial should be allowed anywhere for a buying customer. Tory mentioned that she could not remove it because this is part of their bridal line and this store is one of the few offering it. I asked again to try the size as I could try to buy online or in another store. She restated that she could not remove it because it was the last model in that size. I told her, that it was the exact reason my wife wanted to try it on before purchasing. She then said I wouldn't even be able to buy it, online or in any other store. I told her I still wanted to try it, she said still? She walked away and promptly removed the dress from the mannequin. When she handed us the dress she said, I will need this right back when you're done trying it. I said I knew that, and asked for her name and her DM's name. The level of laziness and disrespect was, though expected, disappointing. You shouldn't judge anyone for how they look, dress, or how often they walk into your shop. I also understand, that sometimes people are busy, but on a slow Wednesday afternoon is not understandable. I don't understand laziness or poor salesman behavior from a Manager. Tory mentioned that her DM's name was Zulema de La Torre. Zulema, I would have a talk with the leadership team on this location about proper customer service. We helped ourselves inside the fitting rooms as there was no one available to help us. The fitting rooms where dirty. Additionally the lose tiles on the entry way are an extreme safety hazard. Wow....after reading the reviews I have to share my experience. It was Horrible! I refuse to go back & spend money here. Customer service is *I don't even know what word to use* terrible. When I shop....I SHOP $$$$. The first time I shopped at Abercrombie I walked in because I liked an outfit from the display. The store wasn't too busy & everything seemed pretty organized. It was easy to find what I was looking for. I found a jumpsuit that I liked, but couldn't find my size. I asked an associate if she could order it online & she did. It took longer than I thought it would, but I was happy to be getting it. I found more dresses that I liked and decided to buy them. For some reason even though the store wasn't busy there was still a line. I waited for more than 10 minutes. Some lady was having issues with her transactions (not sure if she was buying or returning). The staff was not too friendly. I paid for my stuff and left. I thought it was okay. Fast forward to my jumpsuit being delivered at home....I was so excited to finally have this jumpsuit (silky material) & OMG. Quality was horrible. It was damaged from one side & there was no way to fix it & to top it off....it was missing the belt it was supposed to come with. I literally paid full price (& y'all know this store isn't cheap) over $100. I couldn't believe it was actually sent to a customer like this. I went to the store and returned it. They did have one that was my size (maybe someone returned it) at the store, but it looked like it was worn & missing the belt too! I was not going to pay for something that was damaged. No thank you. I was very disappointed. This time the staff was a little less friendly. I decided to give it another chance....so I go back a few 1weeks later. It was around the holidays. I bought a dress, original price over $100, but was on sale (no less than $80). I didn't try it on at the store because the line for the fitting room was crazy. I went home & tried it on, but it was too small. Ok here comes the good part. Y'all won't believe what happened next. I don't know if it's really a thing or it's just this store, but I had NEVER heard of this or even have this happen to me anywhere else. I went to the store to EXCHANGE it....not even to get a refund. Just a simple exchange to a bigger size. I get there, walk in, grab the size that I need, get in line, I'm finally next....& I tell the girl, "Hi, I would like to exchange this to a bigger size, please. Here it is." She said it wasn't a problem and that she would be able to help. She takes my receipt & starts scanning....then she says, "your balance is $$." I was confused. I asked her what she meant because I was just exchanging the same item to a bigger size. She tells me that I bought the dress when it was on sale & it no longer was on sale so I had to pay full price now!! Like WHAT!! How does that make any sense?? I told her I wasn't paying full price and that I just wanted a bigger size so what was the issue. She repeats the same thing & asks me if anyone had told me this before. Like hello, OBVIOUSLY NOT!! If they had I wouldn't be shopping at this store. What type of policy is this. She then says she'll go grab her manager. Manager comes (she was not friendly....at all) & repeats what the girl said. I told her I was never informed of such policy & that I've never even heard of this. It's so ridiculous....up to this day I don't understand it (it makes 0 sense). The manager looked annoyed & said they would make an exception this one time. She also mentioned she was adding a note to my account so that next time they would know I was informed of this policy & wouldn't honor the sale price if I exchanged. Like I'm going to go shopping there again....no way! The way she was talking to me I would've just returned it and asked for my money back, but I liked that damn dress (Lol). She walked away and the girl made me sign some paper saying I was informed of that policy. I grabbed my bag & left. I never went back & don't plan to. They do have nice clothes (sometimes), but it's definitely not worth dealing with those people. The staff is rude. When you ask for something they do it because they have to, but you can tell that's the last thing they want to do. Even the price....their clothes is not worth the $$$$. If you do order or even shop here make sure you double check that it's in good condition before you pay for it. & I really don't know about that policy, but just beware of it. It was such a hassle & not worth getting mad or all that trouble I had to go through for a dress. If I was you....I would stay away. Go to Hollister, they're always so nice, friendly, and helpful. It's Friday 4/16 around 6 pm , i was going to check out and I was the only one waiting on line but the cashier girl told me that she couldn't let me check out right away because the previous customer who forgot her wallet and she had gone to get her wallet from her husband who was shopping at other stores and not even know where he was ! A&F is kind of expensive when there are no sales, but recently they have been marking down their clothes drastically. The quality of the material is much better than H&M or Forever 21, but I think they cater to a slightly different crowd. The fit and cut seems to be for slightly thinner builds and the sizes run a tad small. This makes for a perfect storm if you're young, asian or of a small build. In addition, they have a great return policy for merchandise bought over the internet, since you can't try it on or touch the material. Customer service is really bad. As I was in line to pay for the product. Waited 10 minutes and there were employees walking around which had saw us waiting there. Waited 5 more minutes and then asked why it wasn't our turn. Guess what the three cashiers said? All three said Line is on the left not right side. And one employee guy, big stalky guy who looks like he handles stocks or something says, "lines always been that side" with a sarcastic attitude. I've live in Arcadia and went to that store time to time and the line has changed place. I'm sure who has gone to that store before knows that. So basically my complaint is, no one said anything to us until we asked which they saw us waiting there (with eye contact). And that attitude to gang up all at the same time to your customer? I know there's a lot of people who goes there that don't speak English. And some won't stick up for themselves because they don't understand or can't speak the language. I speak English! This store was very busy. However Amanda was my cashier and she was absolutely wonderful. She helped me decide on my final purchase as well as allowing me to make two separate purchases and use all of my coupons. She was very patient and had a great attitude. The line was extremely long however, it only took about five minutes for the cashiers to get through the very long line. This store has super great sales I was very shocked. Make sure you sign up for the exclusive members club so that you can take advantage of the extra discounts and coupons that they send. This store has a bigger variety of sizes and way more inventory than a lot of other stores I have been to recently I highly recommend this location. read more

I had a pleasant experience with the worker that helped me but not a good experience with how the store handles the cologne section.. And I could tell the worker was doing her darndest to help me in a crappy situation. I went to buy a cologne for my husband. Wanting to make sure that I purchased the correct one I went to spray the sample bottles only to find that the only bottles on display were the women's bottles. When I asked for the men's samples she proceeded to tell me that because of Covid they're gone (but I guess the women's ones are covid approved? Pretty dumb logic to me) she then hands me a paper that has all 5 scents on it .... it's literally impossible to smell one scent at a time as all 5 scents are literally right next to eachother. Whoever made those scent cards didn't think that through. It was all poorly thought out and inconvenient. So ultimately I just have to wing it and buy the one I think it was. So I ask "if it's the wrong one, can we return it?" and she says "no, once you take the plastic packaging off you can't return" so basically buy it and cross your fingers and if it smells bad tough luck. I found a sweater that was sold out. I don't know why they can't sell the one they have on display. I guess that's policy, that's fine I guess. second, I found another sweater. This time, only one left but has damage. The person who help me claim it's his first day. & he ran around to help me but at the end told me that if i want any discount I need to ask the cashier myself.. I saw another sweater on 50% off before I walk out the store. I thought that's even better then the 40% off sweater I saw earlier. & it looks nice with many sweaters for me to choose from. OK, so I buy it anyway despise the fact I was pissed off. At the counter, the sweater was only 40% off.. WHAT? why? Apparently the sign that I saw place right next to the sweater on the table says " outerwear" which doesn't translate to sweater for A&F. I don't know, maybe I don't shop enough? Rude staff members! There was a fitting room that no one was in and before entering a staff member mindlessly walked past us. Because no one was there to tell us that we weren't allowed to be in it and because no staff members were there, we sneaked under the door to use it. We understand what we've done was probably bad, however, we were then asked rudely to get out three times. We quickly changed and they would not stop bothering us. A word of advice to staff members: we are customers. You should be helpful to us and maybe stand by the changing room or have caution tapes or something to barricade people from passing through. Eck. Abercrombie and hollister used to be way better a few years back. Why did they change the style and quality? Same prices, lower quality. And to be fair, they did make their sizes way larger. I've noticed. My boyfriend normally wears a medium in their basic tee shirts. Now even a small is HUGE. I guess too many people are complaining that this brand targets for smaller people so they changed the way sizes fit. Remember those iconic gigantic tags? Yeah the nice ones that you can even see the seam lines from the back of the shirt to know you're wearing their brand. Now they ditched that idea entirely and instead used cheaply printed on labels that'll probably fade in the wash, or the typical clothing tag that sticks out and is itchy. I know that's such a small detail but those giant square patch tags are what made AF and hollister iconic and comfortable. Only a few items have it I think like the winter jackets. Why does AF and hollister carry the color black now? Now your brand just looks like ANY OTHER STORE. Bye. Their brand never used to carry black. Ever. Only navy blue at darkest. I liked AF for that reason. They're different from the others. But nope. They now scrapped that. They're clothes used to be casual, "preppy", and cute. Now they're like a clash between hipster and boring. Only the winter jackets kept the same style. But who seriously needs a jacket in California? Clothes are bigger. Good for the average consumer. Bad for petite people. I'm tired of shopping in the kids section you know? AF catered to petite or slim people without looking like a 12 year old. Yes even AF kids is ugly now too. They sometimes collaborated their brand with cartoon characters. Seriously if I wanted a Disney t shirt id goto Walmart. Not AF. Also they don't even use the moose logo and seagull logo as much. That also made their clothes unique. The stitching was always really good and it was a subtle tiny detail that differentiated their clothes from other brands. Bor-ing. I really don't get the hate for A&F. If you don't know what to expect from the store prior to your visit well then you are just uninformed. I go there to buy (sometimes overpay yes) comfortable, good looking clothes. I am always greeted by an employee situated near the door so I don't think the service is all that bad. I guess I just like to shop by myself without a salesperson constantly nagging me. I also don't feel weird about buying size Large at the store. I am not trying to look like one of the models adorning the wall therefore it doesn't bother me. Clothes are meant to fit you perfectly and comfy so if you are buying just because you care what other people think of you then you have a major issue. A&F is not perfect by any means. I just can't seem to find a long sleeve collared shirt that's both affordable ($30 - 40) and comes in Medium. Also the both the Medium and Large shirts have exceedingly long sleeves, while their Small is too tight yet the sleeves have perfect length. I do have to say that there are more discounts for newer styles than ever before so I don't have to wait for holiday clearance sale to shop there. Abercrombie & Fitch is a terrible store. The perfume is noxious (and why is it sprayed EVERYWHERE?), the music is too loud (so loud you can't hear yourself think). The reasons for this can only be that a) A & F is selling a lifestyle to its customers that is largely dependent on the belief that if you buy their clothes you will soon be taken out of them (why else are the models on the site naked?) b) the owners intend to get people into the store under the premise of appropriating this lifestyle, selling them far too expensive clothing, and then pushing them out equally quickly through sensory deprivation. GENIUS. Don't get me wrong, I gave three stars in this review because A & F is the ONLY place where I can find jeans that fit. Also, they had these incredibly soft jackets a couple of winters ago with luxurious knitted linings. The one I bought was so nice someone stole it! I like the staff, it's the company that is BULLSHIT. Everything else in A & F can be found and purchased elsewhere under better conditions. Funny story: On the promenade there is an A & F for kids that is not labeled as such. My sister and I went there after it opened and mistakenly believed for FAR TOO LONG that it was the regular store. Yes, I'm slow. Actually the customer service isn't that bad..when I walked in one girl greeted me with a huge smile..i'm not so sure about the other workers though but they were pretty decent..saying sorry when they got in your way. I dont know about you but I LOVE the smell of the store and their clothes!! after I buy it , I let it sit around in my closet for a while and I don't wear it too much because I don't want the smell to go away so quickly! i know I'm crazy :/ ! lol. It was a miracle I was able to shop on Christmas eve, 20 minutes before closing! It's a well thought out beautiful store, with mood lighting, loud music and helpful floor employees. This is exactly what I expected sometimes seeing marketing / advertising for this brand.I was excited to get the right clothing sizes, styles and colors I wanted! This was after all the season of giving, and I knew these clothes will make someone special a very happy kid. My plan was to simply buy these attractive jackets, shirts and pants, pay for it and ask for gift boxes. I was in line for about 20 minutes or so and in my boredom i was just staring at the cash register area. Line is moving along and I am surrounded by so many high school and college age shoppers and a few of us buying gift items for kids. Once I reached the cash register area, the employee quickly rang me up and processed the transaction very quickly. To my huge disappointment, the cashier claimed that the store was out of gift boxes. (Just imagine, a kid opening a gift and seeing A&F brand on a gift box, cool huh?) I thought that was odd, being out of gift boxes when just a few moments ago I noticed another employee handing out gift boxes to a couple. Anyway, what happened next was truly shocking to me. Cashier 01871891 on register 003 at 6:16 p.m. took my 9 pieces of clothing and just stuffed everything in a single bag without folding it. After rushing home, I had to try to iron the shirts and pants to remove the wrinkles on all the items. Christmas comes once a year, and to this person receiving these items it is a very special to them. His (cashier) response to my obvious question? " Well if you buy a lot, that's what happens". Never in the decades of shopping have I encountered such an individual. This cashier ruined it for all the employees at this location as well as for the brand. The staff airs out all their drama in front of the customers, which is incredibly inappropriate. The clothes are overpriced to the point where even their own customers talk out loud about Hollister being cheaper. Only redeeming factor is that the manager Vivian is polite and sweet. read more
