Abe has been fixing and maintaining my cars for over 5 years. He is honest, only fixes what needs to be fixed, and is smart. He just amazed me with his ingenuity and persistence again. When our 2005 Odyssey was serviced at the dealer, the drain bolt for the transmission fluid was put in crooked and the threads were stripped. The bolt finally gave out and the fluid drained, so I took it to Abe. The problem was, a new bolt would not hold because the threading in the casing was stripped. The only solution was replacing the whole transmission for $3,000. Abe thought that was crazy for a perfectly good transmission, so he tried to find a solution. He tried a couple of things before he realized the bolt had been relatively short, and some good threading remained in the upper parts of the casing. He looked all over town to find a bolt of the same size and thread pitch the was long enough to catch those threads. He went twice after work hours to find it. The one he found was too long, so he cut it down three times to be sure it fit perfectly. However, the space around the bolt was too tight to fit a socket wrench over it, so he had to weld a smaller bolt on top of the head of the big bolt so it could be tightened and removed for future fluid changes. That bolt cost me $250 after it was all finished, but he saved me $2,750! I happily paid him and bought him lunch! Abe works alone, and while he's usually timely, you may have to wait your turn. I wouldn't even rate this one star, terrible customer service. "First come first serve," but my car was first on the lot and never serviced, he lied to my father when he called to ask what happened. I was cut off and dismissed while trying to ask questions. read more

He was able to assess my car within a couple hours and provided the honest guidance I needed (part that broke was still under warranty). I had my car towed here. Previous, had a good experience. He fixed my vehicle right. This time not a good experience, very hostile, like he does not want to be in the car care business any longer. Very surprised since I am a returning customer. I asked if he could also check my brakes, and rotate my tires he said no problem with a grimace. A red flag; he did call me to say the starter was the problem, and ready to pick up. When I picked up my vehicle, I asked about rotating the tires, checking the brakes no response, he did not do it. He did fix the starter, when I left his garage the engine light was still on. I spoke with a friend who indicated possibly Abe, charged too much to fix the starter. What a shame, he was a good honest mechanic gone bad. Never again will I deal with this guy. I highly not recommend this business. read more
