I decided to give Pep Boys one more chance specifically because of a young lady there by the name of Dori that always recognizes me and makes me feel valued as a customer. After diagnosing my issues, it was advised that I needed to get new rotors, brakes and suspension work. Long story short, I had to return three times within a couple of months because a grinding sound would return. First it was that they weren't properly tightened and had to leave it overnight. The 2nd time the car sat there for a couple of days before I called to see if there was any progress. They told me it was resolved. When I went to pick it up, it was as if it was never touched. The sound was still there. I had a supervisor take a spin in the car with me and he immediately heard it too, He didn't understand why it wasn't resolved. Each time I had to rent cars so that I wouldn't be on foot and had to go to work. With the third and "final" fix, they told me that I had to get Volvo OEM parts because the aftermarket parts didn't fit well and caused the noise issues. Again, more car rentals more days without my car, but they assured me I didn't have to pay extra even though the parts were better. Within a month the sound returned. I finally took it to a family Mechanic that was about 20 miles away and he discovered that they were bad parts. With barely a couple of thousand miles on these parts I had him put all the pieces every part in my trunk. The parts were still brand new, but it was clear even to the new manager at Pep Boys when I showed it to him. He said that he would check with his company to see what they can do about reimbursing me for these parts that were barely used, but bad. He asked me to wait until after the new year because of the holidays. Took my phone number, but I never heard from him again. The Pep Boys total job cost which I even took out their credit card for was over $2000. My mechanic dated for $700 and five months on the road and I have had no issues whatsoever with my suspension brakes or rotors. I don't know what they're doing there at that store or who the technician was that worked on my car, but it was the same one all three times as they stated it needed to be the same technician every time I took it back. He shouldn't be working there. I've officially moved on from ever using Pep Boys again and I still have these parts sitting in my garage as a reminder to not even consider them to put air in my tires. HORRIBLE SERVICE ADVISOR DOESN'T KNOW AUTO REPAIR. HALF-DONE BRAKE JOB. NOT DONE CORRECTLY. DIDN'T SPOT ISSUE. WANTED ME TO COME BACK. BIG HASSLE. Whole story: Scheduling was easy enough. Not perfect, but 4 out of 5. Service advisor seemed UNSKILLED in auto repair. She first calculated $900 for a brake job because she was using new rotors all around. She didn't understand the simple term "turn the rotors" or "cut the rotors" which means keeping the existing rotors (which were plenty thick, as I told her 4 times - I checked them myself with my Mitutoyo 0-1" micrometer) and put them on a LATHE and SKIM-CUT them to clean off old steel stock. When I balked at the price I asked her if she was pricing in NEW rotors instead of TURNING the rotors, and she denied that was what she was doing, but I could SEE THE SCREEN and she had it priced all wrong. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. I AM A MACHINIST OF 45 YEARS EXPERIENCE and I don't appreciate a service writer who doesn't understand what services are to be done, and I definitely DO NOT APPRECIATE someone covering up a mistake. It leaves me, the customer, WONDERING WHAT ELSE WAS MIS-ENTERED. NOT GOOD. NOT HAPPY with service advisor. HALF-DONE and IMPROPERLY-DONE BRAKE JOB: They did cut the rotors correctly but the pedal was still going to the floor. I was happy to pay for a full system flush of brake fluid and they should have noticed this. It's a CHEVY SUBURBAN and the pedal on these should be HIGH and HARD under foot, not mushy and able to go to the floor. They had 2 people drive it and said it's fine, and I showed them the problem and ONLY THEN did the tech look at the fluid and admitted it looked like it needed a flush, but THEY WERE JUST TOO BUSY TO DO IT. What a joke. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE WHEN THEY HAD IT ON THE RACK DOING THE BRAKE JOB !!!!!! So they made me set an appointment for the FOLLOWING WEEK. UNSAFE to do this on brakes!!!! I don't need this hassle. Can they not diagnose a WEAK PEDAL going to the floor when the car is ON THE RACK???!!!! I ended up bleeding it through myself at home and doing the flush myself. THE WHOLE REASON I WENT TO PEP BOYS WAS TO AVOID SCREWING WITH THIS STUFF MYSELF. I AM GETTING OLDER AND I DO NOT APPRECIATE THE RUN-AROUND. THEN, BIGGER ISSUE - the tech doing the brake job did NOT adequately grease the back of the pads, and did NOT adequately GREASE THE PINS on the floating calipers - I know by the squeaks and shifting of the pads when I change direction. She blew me off. I recently purchased four brand new tires, which were nearly $1000, additionally I had the front end aligned and an oil and filter changed, today, Tuesday, April 7. I got a flat tire, which was perhaps two weeks since the installation, the air was going out of the tire very fast, I stopped at a gas station and put some air in it in a rushed to Pep Boys, which was perhaps a mile away and their response was "we don't have the time today" "make an appointment for tomorrow" additionally it was said in a very unfriendly tone which they did not have of course when they saw I was gonna spend $1200. I strongly recommend you do not spend one single dollar in this store, do not try to save money when you compare it to others such as DISCOUNT TIRE where I have previously purchased tires and they promptly resolve any issue that came up, particularly a flat tire, which you cannot foresee with enough time to make "an appointment" do not do business with this store. read more

Do not go here. Needed a quick alignment on my 2024 model 3 Tesla. No Tesla service centers near me had any appointments readily available, so I searched around online and found this place, I was able to put in my make and model and make an appointment and I thought nothing of it. Since an alignment is so routine and they said online they could take my car. Upon bringing the vehicle to the shop, the first person I talked to wasn't even sure if they could take my car, even thought online I was able to make an appointment with the given information. But once she checked with the service technicians, she said it would be fine. After they inspected my vehicle, they found a small chunk taken out of my front right tire and told me that was the reasoning my car was pulling to the right. I told them that had happened months ago, and wasn't the cause of the drifting of the vehicle, that had only began recently (most likely because the street I drive on every day to work installed speed bumps). The service initially took less than an hour, which I thought was great for a routine tire rotation, and alignment, very quick. I paid, had a nice conversation with the employee that checked me out and started driving away. During my drive, I noticed that my alignment was still completely off, but in a completely different way than before. Initially, my car was veering to the right when I was driving and I would have to turn slightly to the left to get it to drive straight and this is what it looked like after my car had been serviced. (See picture below) I took it back and explained the new issue and was assured that it would be resolved. After a little while of waiting again, I was given my car back and then on my drive home. Realize the car was back to the initial issue I had before I even got there. I'm sure they can provide service on cars they are familiar with, but they clearly were not familiar with my Tesla and should have just been honest and said that. Do not use this location. Scheduled an appointment to have all four tires replaced at 11am. Dropped the vehicle off at 10am. Were told it would be ready by 1pm. 2pm and we still hadn't received a text or a call. We called and sat on hold for about 7 minutes and when the guy finally comes back we're told they haven't even started on the car. read more

I phoned Pepboys in short notice @5pm to see if they would be able to do an oil change on my Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and the friendly clerk whose name is Doriam answered all my questions,quoted me and told me that they have alot of cars being worked on but that she could get me in..I arrived maybe a half hour later to be greeted by her and Rich who was very friendly and helpful.She put in all my info in the system and had me seated..I waited along with a few other customers for maybe 35-45 minutes and later billed by another employee whose name was Ruben..Very friendly and informative young man..He thanked me for waiting and even made small talk as he put papers together.This place is near my home,clean,friendly atmosphere and the workers vibed well with each other there..Its my 2nd time getting my car serviced there and I will defitely be back.If you're looking for a place for your car maintenance needs where the mechanics know what they're doing and you're not milked for all your money...then you need to check them out.Good Job Semoran Pepboys! read more

I honestly don't understand how this place is still in business?? I had one tire after the other have something mysteriously go wrong with it to the point where I was replacing tires every 3-4 months. Finally, the store manager told me I should get the "Road Hazard Warranty" on each tire. It cost $19.50 per tire, so, you know, $78 altogether after spending another $150+ on replacing the crappy tires they keep selling me. He assured me that if I were to come back there if anything happened to my tires, they would replace them and what I would have to pay would be another $19.50 per replaced tire to keep up with the "Road Hazard Warranty" I had originally bought on all four tires after continually having problems with my tires. Welp! The "Road Hazard Warranty" is completely bogus. It's just a way to steal more of your money from you. Not only was this information that I had purchased this "Road Hazard Warranty" not anywhere on my profile they had in the store, but also, I had to drive home to try to find my receipt from my last visit to prove I actually had purchased the warranty, and then back again. The person that helped me was a female presenting person, I'm pretty sure she's the only woman who works there, and I felt so belittled by her. Anytime I went there I always feared talking to her because she always made me feel so dumb about my car. I know she knows more than me, but be nicer to your customers. So she did some finangeling, and she then told me it would be $34.50 (or something close to that number). I asked if that would be the price to replace the two tires I was having problems with? She said "No that's what you're getting off, the total for two tires is $350 (or something close to that number). I was shocked. I asked to explain the point of me paying the warranty again because I didn't understand it and she said in the nastiest way "I already explained it to you." Well sorry I don't speak tires and cars, but please explain it again. She explained it a second time but I still didn't understand it and then I just told them I was going to go somewhere else because their tires, services, and warranties are obviously not reliable and she made me feel small and stupid. I will never be returning, and I will make sure everyone knows not to go to Pep Boys. I hate to say this but I never really have a good experience with auto maintenance especially going as a woman but this time was completely different. The staff member let me get serviced earlier than my appointment time and I was in and out in two hours. The mechanic called me to the back and explained every little detail about what my vehicle needed and pointed it out while doing so. I felt more educated and secure with my decision and left a happy customer. I was able to make a day of appointment on a Sunday to have my tires replaced. Prices are totally comparable to the dealership. One man was behind the counters all afternoon and some how found time to run the business and make sure the crew was working on the time sensitive jobs. I had to wait a little longer but with it being short staffed, I completely understood. They let me know it would be about two hours ahead of time so I was able to run errands with my fiancé during that time. They were so professional and so friendly. I've got to say, I was really impressed with the service here. I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend who's car's 'check tire' light was on. Despite being on a weekend, and the lot being full of cars, the worker had a technician check her tires immediately, and when they said they couldn't plug a tire, the woman working there simply gave her a new tire, knowing my friend would be driving home, three hours from there. I place my thanks to God, for bringing us to this spot, because that was well beyond what these folks at Pep Boys had to do. It was very generous of them! It made no sense. Made an appointment for 11 am the day before to get my turn signal changed and called them the morning of to confirm and get a quote. I get there and I'm told that they have cars in front of me from 9 am and 10 am. The entire parking lot was full and there was no place to park but when I stepped inside it was empty and employees were just dragging their feet and standing around talking. Terrible service. I took my car to replace a tire that had a leak on the front driver's side. They said they fixed it. There was a new tire on my passenger side and some companies will move tires so I assumed that's what they did. But then this morning only a day later I woke up and the front drivers tire was flat. I asked when they change tires do they move the location and they said no. So I let them know they changed the wrong tire and they told me to come up there. I did, they took my key and my car and I asked to speak to the manager to talk with him to find out what happened and what his resolution was. When I asked him that he was very rude and said I will see and I asked him again what the resolution was because I needed to know. Then he started screaming at me and saying everyone makes mistakes and he was very insulting and emotional. Then he came back and denied the whole thing and would not help me. He lied and said he did fix the right tire and I got a new nail. I only live 5 minutes and this car is only for long trips and I have not drove it. I did say I will take it up with corporate and he said they won't care and they will take his side and I'll just tell him you got a new flat. That guy is a their and a liar. They took my good tire, left me with a flat tire, screamed at me and would not fix their mistake. Came here for a tire rotation and an oil change before a cross country road trip. I ended up replacing a few filters and the front brakes as well after an inspection. Let me just start by saying the professionalism of the front desk and manager is unmatched. Throughout this less than ideal experience I was impressed by the way they handled themselves, specifically Ricardo and Luis. Unfortunately, my tire nearly fell off after driving out of the parking lot. They had the tire back on the next morning and when I came to pick the vehicle up they had to refund me $100 because they charged me for the wrong vehicle. After that, I noticed a hollow rattling and a grinding sound coming from the brakes so I took it back. They swapped out the brakes again and I began my road trip. Rattling sound was improved, but not entirely gone. By the time I got to the west coast it was pretty bad. Luis told me to take it to a local Pep Boys and they would cover the cost. So they changed the brakes again and now it's back to normal. read more

They just told me it's better to make an appt in the morning so I don't have wait too long. There were customers who made appts after I did and left before me. I had to stay after they closed to receive my car. What really has me frustrated is that no one took my car into the shop until I said something to them 3hrs later. They could've told me if would take long and I would've had a ride home but they to sit in the lobby, so I assumed they would attend to me since I made the appt. I brought my truck into this Pep Boys for a simple oil change and A/C refresh, shouldn't have been more than a couple hundred dollars out the door. Dropped my truck off, got a call from Pep Boys a few hours later recommending over $2000 in additional work which I declined. After this they still tried to sell me on a "tune-up" package, I asked how much it would cost and was told $135 which I accepted since it seemed cheap enough. All was fine until I showed up to pick up my truck and was stuck with a jaw-dropping $1,135 bill.. when I said that wasn't the price given to me a few hours ago on the phone I was told I misheard them and that I "must have not heard the first 1" on the phone. I ended up just paying the bill and leaving since the work had already been done, but I can't help but feel like I was taken advantage of and misled into buying their expensive "tune-up" package that probably wasn't really even needed. I called to find out how much the oil change was and it seemed very reasonable especially with the coupon applied. On the phone the lady who attended me seemed very sweet. When I get all the questions I needed I come to this location and was pretty much taken cared of inappropriately. The lady I was talking to me was very sweet but the other lady was on her phone the whole time and had an attitude for no reason. When I asked about the wait time because they had told about the appointment lady I was talking to was very sweet and the other one was rude and made the comment it's going it be long. Listen I have no issues waiting or them telling me about the wait but it's how you say things. I already knew I was going to be a while because I didn't make an appointment but the way you approach the customer is important I was willing to wait after that other ladies attitude and her being on her phone the whole time I was not going to leave my vehicle here. And yes, I was on time (early, actually), at the correct location, and had a confirmation number. Guy at the desk was rude about it too. I took advantage of a great nationwide tire promotion that Pep Boys was having, and was pretty happy with the service provided at this location. I made an appointment using their online system, and they had my car in the garage within just a few minutes of arriving. The waiting area was very clean and there was free WiFi and TV (and old coffee) for customers. While I was the only customer waiting, several came in while I waited, and their garage was completely full with other jobs. I ordered 4 new tires and in total had to wait about an hour and 15 minutes, which wasn't too bad. By the last 20 minutes, they could tell I was getting restless and someone came in to keep me updated every 10 minutes or so. They did a solid job on the installation with no issues so far. Hopefully they continue this level of service on future visits for the free tire rotation during the lifetime of the tires! I definitely recommend this location over the other Pep Boys located on Semoran...although they are just a few miles apart, this location seems to be far better managed. read more

I sent my son here for an oil change. I had an appointment and they took him almost exactly on time. I received a call after they completed the oil change with what they found while doing an inspection and what was recommended maintenance for my vehicle. At no point was I pressured to upgrade my oil change or purchase any of the things they were suggesting. I ended up getting a motor mount fixed and they sent my son, he's over 18, home via Lyft so he didn't have to wait for the additional work to be done. Honestly I am super disappointed with pep boys. It cost $100 to diagnose my car but I took it to Irish Mikes on colonial it was only $20 dollars. After giving me the diagnoses at pep boys they said it was going to cost $1350 to fix. But when I asked around it was 800-900 including labor. Few people weren't wearing masks and when they told me what was wrong with my car I felt like they didn't even know what they were talking about. Let's just say I'm never back here. read more
