My friend Matt and I decided to stop here after dinner and it was wonderful. It is about a 5 to 8 minute walk from the Kempton hotel is where we had dinner tonight. They had open mic night; and each artist was able to do three songs what I love about this bar is they have fantastic drinks as well as a great ambience. Or bartender/server his name was gizmo and his real name is John and he is great! The ambience is what really makes this place special. It is a great spot for tourists and locals alike!!! Though one of the oldest continuously running bars in Savannah, this is not a craft cocktail bar. It's a local, down to earth hangout! I only came in for a to-go drink and to take some photos. The door guy was laid back and cool. I walked right in, the bartender was super warm and friendly. Greeted me immediately. I asked for something refreshing without specifying a particular drink (keep in mind, it's simple here, nothing fancy). He poured me something fruity, but not too sweet, tasted great. Handed me my receipt with a smile and exchanged pleasantries. I spent several minutes admiring and snapping pics of the different Abraham Lincoln drawings. You could tell the patrons were all people from town and were all friends. You could also tell any of them would invite you to their table at any time! The Abe drawings are all over the place--radical, whimsical, silly, ridiculous, bizarre. I had fun taking some pics for instagram. Been wanting to go here forever and finally had a chance to check out Abe's on Lincoln. You know those nights when you have tried all the fancy restaurants and bars in the city and you just want a simple beer with a great atmosphere. Well this is it! Inside is very unpretentious and the first thing you will notice is all the little pieces of paper with hand drawn versions of Lincoln on them. While some of them are crude drawings that your little nephew could have drawn, lot of them look like piece of art from former SCAD students. What a neat place!!! It's a local dive atmosphere small bar. The bartender Steve was awesome! Many previous patrons have drawn their "version" of Abe Lincoln. Clearly the theme. You're handed a small paper & pencil to draw away at will. After you're done you get to post your masterpiece on the wall or ceiling. Casual and comfortable. Would definitely come back. I ADORE a dive bar! And this one had a theme - Abe Lincoln. Makes sense given where the bar is located on lincoln in Savannah, GA. Everything you would expect from a diver bar - noisy, super busy (we got there around 10ish or so), lots of customers moving around the bar, scattering of tables, going for a smoke outside. The big thing about this bar is the many, many, many customer drawings and sketches of Abraham Lincoln in a variety of looks, places, speech bubbles. Drawings lined the walls, ceiling, anywhere a piece of paper could be placed - there was Abe! I loved the lighting. Dimly lit inside but with lots of bright christmas lights of various types scattered around the space. I saw some snacks available for purchase, but you know the kind of food. Abe's is one of those places you should have on your bucket list. It's small, has a great vibe, cold beers and strong drinks. A few seats at the bar with lots of standing room. On my first visit, I thought the lights were really bright until I realized it's all the Abe Lincoln drawings on small white paper hanging from the ceiling and on the walls. Whether you are talented or just draw stick figures, you've got to draw Abe! Really like the outdoor patio. Wish it was larger like the old days but I'm grateful the owners didn't sell the building for the large hotel going up behind it. The owners have integrity and fought to keep this landmark. If you come to Savannah and don't step in this dive bar, you failed. It was one of the coolest bars I've been to in a long while. The music was great and not too loud. The drinks were typical bar drinks, but the bartenders made the experience. You can let the artist come out and add a drawn pic of good ol Abe on the wall/ceiling. Minor League Hockey Experience This was a great spot to catch a minor league hockey game. The arena is located in a very nice area with plenty of options for an after-game dinner and bar hopping. Parking was extremely cheap--only $10. Getting into the building was easy, and the security staff at the doors were surprisingly friendly and not aggressive. Inside the arena, I was pleased to find that the seating had plenty of room; in fact, I was quite surprised by how spacious the area felt. The only real negative was the concessions, where the type where you have to pick up and pay for the items yourself through kiosks. This can be slow, especially with people who aren't familiar with the process. However, overall, I had a great time and would definitely come back to this location if I'm ever in town. read more

This is a very unique place that you must experience for at least one drink. It is a small bar that is covered in small pieces of paper with hand drawn pictures/interpretations of Abe Lincoln. Some are better than others and clearly some renderings are more alcohol inspired, but it is fun looking at the creativity. Having SCAD students frequent the place makes for some well drawn and creative images. Beer is good too. lol read more

We stopped by this bar and I really enjoyed it. It is pet friendly which is a plus and they even have a doggie bowl. The place is on the smaller side, but there is ample amount of room. Service was fairly quick when ordering a drink. They only have one gender neutral bathroom so there can become a wait very quickly. The unique thing about this place is that they have small squares about 5 by 5 that people draw of Abe Lincoln. I think this was really cool and adds to the experience. Abe's on Lincoln is such a cool pub with a cool vibe. Abe's is the quintessential hole in the wall pub and I was there for all of it....from the burly bearded doorman to the burly and bearded bartenders. They had a fun way to order a shot by rolling dice which was reminiscent of a roll on a dungeons and dragons gameboard. This was a HUGE hit with all of us ladies. This was our first bar stop for our mini-honeymoon weekend in Savannah, and it was a great one. We loved the low-ceiling, dark-wood ambiance of the place. The ceilings had tons of dollar bills and other types of swag nailed/stapled, with cool booths and tables. Both my wife and I grabbed whiskey drinks and chilled at one of the tables for a bit, taking in the place. It's a great place to kick-off your evening, especially, if you're coming from one of the nearby B&Bs like we were during your stay in the city. They have plastic cups to take your drinks with you to another destination as it's legal to have open container in Savannah. Something I wish we had taken more advantage, but I digress. Additionally, they had a water cooler if you wanted to hydrate. Definitely enjoyed our time here as we made our way around the historical downtown of Savannah. This had to be my first review on Yelp. The name of the bar and reviews saying "dive bar" had me telling myself that I HAD to check this place out. I just moved here from Colorado and decided to check it out my first night out on the town...ended up closing down the place. Locals were cool. Bartenders were cool and never had anyone waiting on a refill. Wife visited a couple weekends later so I showed her this cool bar. Ended up playing darts in the back and we had to do a sketch of Abe before we left. Although ours don't compare to the many talented versions hanging from the low ceiling.
