On the 10th I signed for an apartment. That's all it took, one week. Within two days of him knowing I had a list of apartments. And two days after that I was viewing them. And by the end of the week I had signed for a place. Xander was there, very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Willing to explain things and usually with an answer within two hours of my question. He has this process as painless as possible and I can only wish that works as well for you.

They gave me their "stock" lease when I moved in which I didn't realize at first says that the rent may be raised at any point during the term of the lease. They told me laundry was in the building even though it isn't. To sum it up, they are a bunch of snakes that will say anything to get you into one of the apartments they're showing. Tommy and co are now responsible for showing the apartment that I am moving out of. Tommy and his team have made the process so painful. They don't communicate well or truthfully with me, the landlord, or the perspective tenants. Do not trust Bushari. Do not trust Tommy. They do not deserve your business, and I have told the landlord that he should not work with them either.

In case you're a skimmer, here's my bottom line: Ford Realty is the best experience in real estate…read moreI've ever had. Long version: Several months ago, my roommate and I decided we were going to upgrade to a bigger and better apartment. We began the search with online listings and direct contact with buildings we saw and liked. This got us nowhere. With every realtor we met, we got the sense that they were working to sell the apartment, not to find us one. After a particularly depressing visit to a managed building whose claim to be right on "Boston Common" is only valid if that happens to be your nickname for the local strip-clubs, we were walking down Tremont and decided to stop in to the only real estate office that was open. This was a Sunday, by the way. The guy at the desk, Mike Rowe, sat with us for about half an hour. He got to know us, heard what we had already seen and liked/disliked, and asked about our specific preferences. By the time we left, our bad moods had been neutralized by Mike's assurances that we still had hope. This is where I point out that my roommate and I are extremely picky. We had a very specific idea of what we wanted, where we wanted it, and how much we wanted to pay. Mike showed us apartments of every shape and size all over the city . Our hunt lasted a long time, months thanks to our nit-picking. Through the whole endeavor, Mike was taking us out every few days to see at least two apartments, sometimes as many as five. If we toured the place and didn't like it, he knew and said as much before we needed to mention it. He actually cared that we find a home we liked. Realtors aren't contracted. We didn't pay Mike a cent until our apartment was finalized; if we hadn't found anything, we wouldn't have needed to pay him at all. Despite this, he stuck with us, put up with our crap, befriended us, and somehow managed to be the most professional agent possible. In the end, we found the perfect apartment. It took forever (our fault) but we found it. The search would have been impossible without Mike and his dedicated help. If you need an apartment in Boston, go in to Ford Realty on Tremont St. and talk to Mike Rowe. You're welcome.

In this transaction, she worked directly with the owner (who elected not to have an agent) and made this deal happen, not just for me, but for the original owner as well. In addition to being an utmost professional, Ivy is just a great person. She is kind, considerate and wants to help. My girlfriend and I had decided to move in together, and both got jobs in the city. We were nervous to move from western MA, because we knew that competition for places we could afford was tough. Craigslisting alone wouldn't cut it, but it was important to us to invest in a brokerage that had realtors that were personable, yet maintained a high standard for professionalism. Max exceeded all of our expectations. Once we had found our dream apartment in East Boston, Max went above and beyond and did everything in his power to make sure the place was ours. Needless to say, we are here today and are so happy we went through The Ivy Team. Max was very easy to work with, was very straightforward and transparent throughout the whole process, and embodied a perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism. We couldn't have had a more positive experience with a realtor!
