    Basic Curry with Noodles
    Ed K.

Haven't been here in a few years and have decided to give this a go. Everything still as good as it was back then. The creamy Curry was tasty. I ordered medium spicy but would go spicy next time since it probably needed a bit more of extra spicy kick. My wife also ordered medium spice on her Basic Curry Noodles. We couldn't really tell if the curry was a soup or sauce since it fill to the top. Nevertheless it was tasty. I can't say much about service since we ordered off the tablet on the table. They did bring our food and refill our waters. The place is clean but could probably use some better lighting.

Poor cutlet was good. I recommend getting it with the cheese. The service was really convenient. They had an iPad that would take your order. Very busy.

what around 7 PM on a Friday evening and there was about a 10 minute wait to get seated just because all the tables were full. Curry was great and service was not too bad either. All the seafood pieces are buried at the bottom so I thought they gave me the wrong order until I started digging through the curry lol

Abiko Curry in Manhattan is hands down my favorite curry spot, and I finally brought my fiancée--she gets the hype now. The curry here has a deep, rich flavor profile that's totally different from other places. It's bold, comforting, and tastes like it's been built layer by layer, not just "spicy sauce over rice." I ordered one of the hottest spice levels, and it honestly wasn't unbearable at all--so if you love spicy food, don't be scared to level up. You'll get the heat, but it won't ruin the flavor. Service is quick, the food comes out fast, and it's super efficient. The space is small and straightforward--more of a "go in, eat, enjoy, and head out" type of spot rather than a loungey dinner destination. We didn't wait and were seated right away. If you're looking for Japanese curry in NYC that's rich, satisfying, and consistent, Abiko is a must.

Last day on my NY trip and I was craving a comforting meal, so decided to check out this curry spot! Honestly did not have super high expectations but it was better than expected. The food came out relatively fast and the service was decent. I wish the cheese katsu had cheese INSIDE as pictured on the menu / walls vs. just a blanket of cheese on the outside. It was a bit too overwhelming and I wasn't able to finish the cheese, but the katsu was pretty soft and tender. I wish there was options to add spinach or an egg, but the fried garlic and pickled radish were a good touch!

There's something about a bowl of Katsu curry that is just so comforting here at Abiko Curry. Whenever I crave curry, I always come back here! The way the restaurant works--once you're seated, you can order at the iPad on the table. You basically order the "base" first for the type of curry you want. I usually go with the basic curry. After that, you can choose if you want a protein, and I always get either the katsu chicken or pork, which is always pretty crispy, and they give a solid portion. Little garnishes include green onions or onion crisps for free. I always top it off with the melted cheese, and rice typically comes with the dish unless you pick the udon dish! Always a nice spot for a casual catch-up with a friend, considering its convenient location right in Ktown, and there is plenty of seating inside. What we ordered: - Basic Curry w/Katsu Pork + Melted Cheese

Staple spot for Japanese curry. The menu allows you to pick between noodles or rice as a base, with a protein, and then a different type of curry, donburi, or even pasta. The curry has such nice depth and flavor and would be perfect for a cold day. My vegetable curry was steaming it was so enjoyable. I only managed a level 2 spice and would be so curious about going higher next time. I added a side of chicken cutlet with my curry and it was so nice and crispy. Staff and service is friendly and there are small anime figurines lining the back.

Casual Japanese place in Ktown if you want curry. You order from a tablet at the table and can customize every order by your spice tolerance or adding other toppings. Good if you want to get something quick before you catch a train at Penn Station! I got the basic curry and added a pork katsu -- the curry gravy was pretty loose and I would've preferred it to be slightly thicker, but the flavor pairs well with the rice and katsu.

It's a fun and unique place. You order from a digital menu. I can't remember the names of everything. I didn't really like the curry pasta. But we wanted to try something. We've never tried before. It doesn't just feel like it's right for the merger of those two things. It didn't feel like they complemented each other well; the pasta spaghetti noodles and curry sauce. My opinion! But the other dish of rice, mushrooms, vegetables, and Katsu chicken was really fun to eat. We got the cheese, melt over it and it was really tasty. I would come and get that again.

Abiko is one of my fav places to get Japanese curry in Seoul, so I had to try out the NYC location. Ambiance is very casual-- great to come to grab a quick bite and leave. Service was fast. - Shrimp curry (level 2 spicy): 9/10 (almost identical to the Abiko curry I would get in Seoul. Level 2 is pretty spicy, so it definitely isn't for the faint hearted) - Chicken katsu: 9.5/10 (loved the katsu, but I wish they didn't put it in the sauce when it came out!!! Makes it all soggy) - Cream cheese koroke: 7/10 (I usually get the cream cheese koroke when I go to Abiko in Korea, so I know what it tastes like. The koroke here was less creamy and more potato-heavy than what I'm used to, which wasn't my cup of tea. Also i really didn't like how it came out on top of the sauce-- it was sooo soggy)

If you are in Ktown and looking for a spot to satisfy a craving for Japanese curry, I would highly recommend this spot. Most of the menu is entirely Japanese curry and they definitely do it well. My friend and I went on a summer Friday around lunch time and we were able to get a seat immediately (it was a workday so unsure how crowded it gets on weekends). The service was kind. It is self order on the tablets at each table but you can flag down a server if you have any questions. The front is table for 2-4 and there is some more seating in the back as well. I got a noodle curry with chicken katsu on the side and added melted cheese to my noodles. My friend did the same thing as I, but with the rice instead. I personally thought the thick noodles were well cooked and the curry was very flavorful. I wish they provided more katsu on the side since I did pay a bit extra for it. The only major issue I noted is that the melted cheese in my noodle curry clumped together into a giant ball and felt that I was eating noodles with a side of cheese. Would recommend getting a rice dish instead as then you can better assimilate the melted cheese with the rest of your meal. Overall everything came out to under 30 dollars, which is solid in regards to ktown prices. Would recommend coming here if you are craving a serving of Japanese curry in midtown.

I hadn't visited Abiko in a while and recently stopped by to satisfy a craving for their curry dishes. The restaurant was surprisingly empty when we arrived, and unfortunately, the experience didn't improve much from there. The host was noticeably unfriendly when seating us, which set an off-putting tone. We ordered the beef curry rice and beef curry noodles, but both dishes were disappointing -- the curry sauce tasted watered down, and there was very little beef in either dish. Nonetheless we tipped 18% for the staff members, however base on this visit, I'd hesitate to return.

Service was great even though the restaurant was busy. Ambiance was ok, food was good.

Can someone let me know when they start taking cards or Apple Pay? Because I forget they need cash and there's nothing or no one on 32nd that has an atm. It's so annoying!

I went two weeks ago and they were accepting card.

Is the curry made with pork?

I think the standard usually made with pork but they have vegetarian options!

Can I eat any of the curries if I'm a pescatarian or is every meal served with pork cutlet?

Actually had a vegetarian friend go today and they said practically everything has chicken broth in it so vegetarians be warned
