We sat outside on a cold drizzly day and the heaters made it very comfortable. We met the owner when we arrived and he was very welcoming. The woman who served us was delightful and very helpful. We tried a flight and enjoyed the wines. We also purchased some cheese, crackers and olives. They graciously provided plates, cutlery and napkins. read more

Every time we have been it has been a delight. The staff are friendly, warm, and inviting. The wine is fantastic (try a wine slushee during the summer when they have them) Try the Red Hawk, you will not be disappointed. Also a fan of the honeysuckle, although my husband is thoroughly impressed with most of them! I am not a wine drinker quite like he is so those are two of my favorites when I do decide to indulge. The wine slushees are fantastic to me and him alike. They offer a wide variety of snacks and drinks you can purchase or you can bring your own cheese and crackers along! We love going for the music and food truck events and we drive about 2 hours just to visit, so we definitely recommend! Fantastic winery. They offered a flight of wine (4 wines) for $25 each and had a live band playing for $5 a head as the cover charge. Wine was good and we also got 1 beer each Creek next to the winery was peaceful and staff was very kind. Our second time here. My wife and I love their grounds, surrounded by trees and water, it's the perfect place to sit and sip wine. We each found a glass we liked. I enjoyed the Riesling. They accommodated my wife with a free sample before selecting hers. We purchased a small cheese charcuterie box too. It was very good, but entirely overpriced. Such a gem! This place has an amazing view, a heated patio, and fire pits. On top of that, amazing wine from both Virginia and Napa grapes. We did a flight (heavy pours) and then ended grabbing another glass of wine and some bottles to go. While all the wine was good, the favorite was definitely the Virginia red. The owners were super knowledgeable and very friendly with answering our questions. We were lucky enough to be there when they had a Pop up from Jack Rabbit and the food was to die for!! Wish we lived closer, we would definitely be regulars. But if you're passing through Abingdon, this place is absolutely a must-see. read more

This is a cute little vineyard tucked away in the mountains by a stream. It's a wonderful place to add to your itinerary if you're hiking or biking around the are. We visited during COVID and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of distanced outdoor seating. We found plenty of picnic tables with umbrellas. You can bring your own snacks or purchase snacks from the coolers inside. The wine tasting is fun and will run you $14 dollars for 4 XL pours. The people running the tasting were very friendly and gave good recommendations. They had a small selection of wines, and we found them to be solid. I'd highly recommend their dessert wines. The scenery is beautiful and very peaceful with a large running stream nearby. Fair warning- if you're looking for a bunch of rolling fields of grape vines. This isn't your place. The first stop of a multi-day trip to this corner of Virginia. It set the tone for subsequent visits - beautiful venues, with wines made of higher-altitude friendly grapes or hardy hybrids, usually well priced. According to my wonderful server (I think her name was Claudette), Abingdon recently changed ownership; a couple with a flair for wine who decided to put roots (literally and figuratively) in Virginia. They have 13 acres of grapes, and most of their wines are estate. The lineup is currently sweet-wine heavy, but future vintages will likely have more dry styles in line with the new owners' preferences. I did a partial tasting; the standouts were the 2017 Chardonnel with a very clean finish, the 2016 Riesling that had a full mouthfeel, and the Chambourcin that had nice plumb notes. The winery is in a nice location but the wine isn't good. We did tastings but the wine was sub-par so we switched to beer. We did not try the food. We come from wine country on the west coast so we know wine, this place is not worth the time, and they couldn't care less about their customers. read more

This place is amazing.. the people .. the spirit .. the view and ambiance, Eli & Jackson.. oh and the delicious wines Brie's cool california groove & smile greeted us .. made the 3hr plus ride from Buckingham worth it. I know very little about wine but i like the good stuff.. good wine makes my heart smile and Adingdon has really good wine. And the fridges are stocked with nice cheeses, a small selection of charcuterie and cane soda. Adingdon is not pretentious just chilled, cool & classy! The atmosphere speaks volumes of the owners spirits.. There's plenty of outdoor space, with quality tables with umbrellas to covering them, in a grove of trees along a babbling stream.. plenty of shade on a hot day. This is a nice place to experience, vibe with ppl and bring a friend or friends. Outside food is welcome, i saw ppl packing pic nic boxes. What an idillic setting and nice local wine! Family, friends, pets and parties; went on all day long. Creek stomping, swimming, communing with nature, and catching a buzz (yay). Would definitely be a 5 star, BUT... we needed cheeses and meats to make our picnic complete, and most of what they had available (for our purposes), was from Aldi . I'd love to see all local, all the time. But we'll probably never stop visiting this place, for as long as we visit the Damascus area. Vast majority of folks -- even inside -- not wearing masks, and we got nasty comments because we WERE wearing them. No way they were compliant with phase 3 crowd restrictions. The bar tender was ok that's why I'm giving this place 1 star ! The owners were in the lobby and were not welcoming at all ! My husband and I have been to dozens upon dozens of winery and the service here sucked - nothing to brag about especially when you have the owners in the lobby and they could care less about being kind or friendly or anything for that matter - I always purchase wine from local winery's but not today - wasn't worth it to us ! We spent almost a Hundred dollars on our tasting and meat and cheese board and the service and wine sucked - won't come back - do not recommend! Didn't feel welcome here. Biking the Virgina creeper and decided to stop by for a tasting. Maybe they don't want Virginia creeper trail bikers money. The two barmaids did their best to ignore us waiting at the counter. Finally sampled 8 wines , 2 of which they don't sale. The wine was okay, but not worth what they were asking. Okay wine at fine wine prices. Very bad service. We did meet one of the owners on the way out who seemed oblivious to the service offered to the customers, but she was very nice. read more

So, me and a bunch of friends went to Octoberfest and its was kind of a disappointment. First off, somebody at the bar smelled like really bad body odor. It was SO bad that my girlfriend started to get a migraine. I also noticed alot of the management not really doing much of anything but goofing around while the poor girls working the tables ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. And some of the customers that were there were kind of giving us the stink eye as if they knew we were from out of town. Being from NYC I get dirty looks all day but it's to be expected but its different when you're from out of town so it was very off putting. My girlfriend asked some employee where the bathroom was and she was given a real attitude about it. Thankfully one of the employees (I think her name was Kate or Catherine) showed her where it was. She was so nice we asked if she can wait on us exclusively and she was helpful and knowledgeable about the wine and the area. Lastly, and this is what made me want to write this review, my best friend (who is of Latin descent) asked me if they served beer and one of the customers next to us said something like "not serving coronas amigo" to my friend as if he only drank that type of beer cause hes Hispanic. After that comment we decided to leave because it was too awkward and my girlfriend was getting nervous. The only nice thing was the wine and the one waitress who waited on us. I'll be skipping this place next time I drive to Miami. read more

Looking for a scenic drive followed by delicious local wine, Abingdon Vineyard and Winery is the place to go. We were in town to go to the theater and found a brochure for the vineyard at the hotel we were staying at. The drive to the vineyard is absolutely beautiful so make sure to have a camera out (passengers of course!). My husband and I chose to do a tasting since we were unfamiliar with the wines that they offered. We were given a fairly long list of the offered wines and were allowed to choose several from the list to taste. The wine guide that we were given had the descriptions of the wines and were nicely organized by level of dryness or sweetness. We were impressed with the Triple Duck wine made from 3 types of grapes grown at the vineyard! The owners were nice to chat with and kept the busy tasting room moving quickly through the wines while still answering questions.
