We have been here a couple of times, and order take-out about once a month. We just enjoy it. My husband loves the cajun chicken sandwich! I've had the fish and chips which were great one time and dry one time. I really liked the buffalo chicken sandwich the first time I had it but the second time it was horrible! The greek salad with chicken is good too. The service is always good, but the last time we were in our food took forever and the place was nearly empty. We live a little more than an hour away and were in the area for the Zombie Apocalypse event (highly recommended by the way) and wanted to find a local restaurant/pub for dinner and drinks after and with the help of Yelp came across this place. We had a group of 7 on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us within a couple of minutes. The waitress wasted no time gathering our drink order and then our food order shortly after. Our food arrived within a reasonable time and was very warm and good! It had a "home style" presentation and the flavor to match! We all enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming townie bar. Good food, good drinks, and friendly people. Visit here often! Great place to watch sports and have a good dinner or even an app and drink. If you're a fan of potato skins this is your place... The only reason I'm giving this restaurant one star is because the wait staff was efficient. I came here for a bereavement dinner it was located upstairs. The Abington Depot was more than I expected. I was going to get a burger or chicken sandwich, until I saw them bringing out a pizza for a table by us. It wasn't regular bar pizza, it was the bigger Italian style. I decided on a bacon pizza, and it was on of the best pizzas I ever had in my life. The waitress was also friendly and fast. She was quick to bring out our drinks, and when they had a mix up with one of our beers, she wasted no time getting it right, and explained why the miss-hap happened. The menu is simple pub food, but they claim they'll make anything if they have the ingredients in the kitchen. The Abington Depot is a perfect place for a casual dinner date, a couple of beers with friends, or for taking the parents out for dinner. The building is an old train station, so the train does go by a couple times an hour, but that adds to the charm. If you live in the area you're crazy not to try it, and it's worth a drive out of your way to enjoy it. read more

The worst meal I have ever had. The service was awful we waited 20mins to get our check while every person on the staff walked by my table saw we were waiting and ignored us it was not even a busy night. Horrendous. When eating somewhere new that has pizza on the menu, i usually opt for that. Dough,sauce,cheese. If they screw that up, you can be sure I wont be back to order Beef Wellington, ya know? I pick up the pizzas and thought one was missing, they were so light. I open them to find stale, cold and paper thin "pizzas" that have sauce and cheese about the size of a hockey puck. Ordered 40 bucks worth of take-out while having a couple of expensive beers and watching a football game..... but bartender decided to charge me $3.00 for a 10 ounce Pepsi served in a kiddy cup for my 7 year old daughter who was also watching the game and coloring. Was going to contact them on a website but it appears they don't have a website. Now i know why. Been going threre off and on for a decade because its local. All done. Well, we just had our last meal at "The Depot". We've been going there for 20 years. Sometimes semi regularly, sometimes sporadically. This place has steadily gone downhill in various ways. It was almost our last trip there about a year ago. We (4 of us) had the nachos as an appetizer before dinner. The small plastic dressing cup of salsa obviously didn't last. We asked for more and the waitress obliged. It wasn't until we got our $120 bill that we saw we were charged for the extra salsa. Now I think it was $.75 which is not the point. It's that it cost anything extra. You under-delivered and billed me for more. I paid it and said something to the owner. I forget what she said, but it wasn't very professional so we didn't go back for quite some time. We have been visiting more regularly despite two other local friends that vowed never to go back per their own bad experiences. Tonight sealed the deal. We went in and asked for a booth......two of them open rihgt in front of us. Nope, they are for reservations. Now I can see having a reservation, but a particular table in a place that has dining seating for maybe 50 people. We sat at a high-top, cramped with our food and drinks. All the while staring at two empty booths. I'm thinking the whole time,yup it looks like your reservations stood you up. Well, as we were almost done an old couple came in and took a booth at 6:00. Then, as our disappearing waitress failed to come clear up the table and the bill, another couple came and took the other booth. I wanted so bad to tell the owner she got stood up!! I did talk to her and ask her why we could not sit in a booth and she said they were reserved for 6:00. Then within our somewhat one way conversation, she must have said 8 times all the while talking over me "we take reservations, you should have made a reservation" again and again like an angry 13 year old. We got there at 5:25 and left at 6:10........6:00 if our waitress was attentive. I hope those reservations were worth losing a customer. There are too many choices out there to deal with miserable people with cheezy business practices. Funny, I've heard several and glad I see here that I'm not the only one wondering how weird it is for an owner to be like that........ We wont be back and karma will come..... read more

I tried the Abington Depot with friends last week. We ordered 4 beers and the waitress came back with only two stating that the keg needed to be changed, no big deal, I can wait. I ordered an entree and asked if there was a side salad I could get and the waitress said sure.... my friend also wanted a side salad. 2 BIG caesar salads came out 20 minutes later. (She must have forgotten we wanted the salads before our meal.) No biggie, I thought. It happens! As soon as she left the table after bringing our salads, another waitress was arriving with our dinner!!!! FAIL! My beer finally arrived....... Horrible! How do you screw up a beer? The tap system must not be working properly or just hasn't been cleaned maybe?? No apologies!!! She grabbed my beer and asked if I wanted another beer. I never complained about the salads coming right before the dinner. I only told her that the beer tastes flat. She rolled her eyes and her back went up so fast! I was so uncomfortable. My friend and I barely touched our salads because our dinners including our other friends dinners were on the table with not much room for the salads. When the check came, the salads were on the check @ $7 or $8 a piece!!!!!!!!!!!! What is that?? I asked the waitress about the price difference from a "side" salad (WHICH WE ORDERED) and "dinner" salad, if any..... She quickly said "I don't make up the prices, the owner does." REALLY NOW? We didn't eat the salads, they should have been taken off. My gross beer was still on the check as well. I never received another beer after she took the first one. I noted the manager, a blonde woman, hanging up at the bar talking to a few guys who looked to be locals. She never walked around the dining area to check on customers, though there was only one or two tables other than us. It was not busy at all. That should have told us to leave right then and there! Anyways...... I would not recommend that place to anyone, I would be embarrassed. The food was just ok. It didn't suck, but it wasn't good either. Pub food. went with in-laws due to location wanted something off the bar menu which we were seated 4 ft away told i couldn't get the bar menu because i was in the dining area by management 100% of the managers would say sure with 5 people dining needless to say i ordered nothing in principle see where this is going neither staff or manager would compromise i was literally told if i wanted something from the bar menu i would have to sit at the bar so i still order nothing but water it was a saturday afternoon with only about 15 or so total in the establishment i normally give a 3 strike rule to dining establishments but this one gets all 3 at once read more

This place has gone down the drain!! Used to be a great little hidden gem until about 3 years ago.Not sure if it changed management or if they just turned their head. We like to promote and back our town and surrounding town's businesses but this place is just filthy. The waitresses are just rude and have no patience nor personality, the food is basically airplane food (delivered from Sysco) and just re-warmed in a pan or microwave. The drinks are very weak & the beers are warm. The breaking point is when you find a long blond hair in your food and you tell the waitress and she says "well it's not mine"! And never offers to replace the meal or have the manager come over to apologize. Well,,, We wanted to go someplace different. My dad has been here several times & had alot of likes,,, So we decided to give it a try. Well we were "Very Happy". A bit surprised that it was not busier, but it was a very dark rainy night. I had a special shrimp & scallops w/ lenguini. It was awsome. We also had the steak tips that we read reviews about. Oh ya,, they were suckulant in every bite.. tender & juicy. Great choice i would hope for anybodies taste buds... Many choices in potatoe & veggies. The mixed drink as i read was more than generous. smells better than it used to. food still leaves something to be desired. im not sure you can even call their pizza 'pizza'. its paper thin and not very flavorful. you better eat it before it cools down because the crust turns to stone. steak and cheese was iffy. tasted like frozen beef and vegetables. the quesadillas are a mess but you'll def get a couple of decent tasting bites out of it. ive tried a few other things, but you get the gist. all in all, if you catch me here again its because its close to home and the drinks are drinks. read more

Food is good, no real wow blow me away food on the menu. Excellent prices, extremely slow service when there busy, but pretty attentive when not so busy. Love the old railroad station feel as well as the train coming by and blowing its horn, very cool, my 6 year old thought it especially cool. Ample parking, terrible landscaping on the outside but then again we went there for the food and not the landscaping. Simply put- I can do better with my microwave. Went to this place visiting a friend in that area- looked cool and I love pub grub but not in this place. Got a ceasar salad, with a sampler app plate and a large pizza for two of us. The salad was small and cost almost $10.00 and it was a lrg salad. Then got the Sample app with- motz stix, chic fing, crab cakes- all frozen then quickly tossed in frier or micro waved- definately not cooked to order -was not good. Pizza came out look like Ellios pizza you buy at Stop and shop. Wait staff was nice but hey thats their job so how can rate that?
