My garage door began hesitating to fully close and I noticed the wheels making a grinding noise. Got the work done from him. Till that time he was picking the phone. After some time, I called to give me the invoice and he agreed but never gave the invoice. Now when I called him few times, he never picked and blocked my number. Called from other phone, he picked and then disconnected after knowing it was me. Called again, he said why I am calling again and again when the issue is resolved. Didn't even listen to me. I told him he never gave the invoice for which I have been waiting. He took cash from me and now not providing invoice most probably to get rid of taxation. Very unprofessional and accusing customer that why customer is calling again and again. Wont recommend. He also told his work is under warranty, but when I called him one time to repair what he did, he asked for money again. Services are not legit. Be Aware! First off, I contacted six garage door companies for installation of my garage door opener. All companies including Able were between $80-$100 for the opener installation. I told all companies, including Able, I needed a reinforcement strut installed at the top of my door and was quoted prices between $30-$40 dollars for a single car garage door strut. They told me there was no additional service fee to install the strut since they were already there installing the opener. Martin from Able quoted me over the phone, $85.00 for opener installation and $30.00 for the strut which I thought was fair since most others were that price. I chose to use Able Door Company because Martin was very nice on the phone, the prices were comparable and he was available for next day service. This should have made my total $115.00, however, when he completed the job he told me my total was $170.00. When I questioned the cost, he told me it was $85.00 for the opener and $85.00 for the strut. When I told him about the phone quote he told me he normally charges $125.00 to install a strut but was giving me a break since he was there and acted as if he never gave me the phone quote. I feel paying an additional $55.00 for 2 minutes of work and six self taping bolts is a little out of line, plus not honoring the phone conversation is poor business practice. He was a very nice man, cleaned his work area and explained things in depth to make sure I understood how things worked. If you decide to use this company make sure you have a confirmed price prior to starting the project. read more

Martin from Able Door replaced the broken spring on my garage door (in Folsom) and I am not satisfied with the job. Two problems I've seen since the repair: (1) the door is so heavy that I have to work really hard to pull it up with the motor detached (I believe you should be able to pull it up without too much trouble in a power out situation); (2) the door doesn't stop its closing action when I tried to hold it or push it standing underneath it (a necessary safety feature I believe). I called Martin a few time previously and didn't get his response until months later. He wanted to charge me extra to fix the problem and we could not agree with each other. I think if he didn't do the job right the first time, he should come to fix it free of charge or a minimal charge. If Able Door could see this post and care about their customers, I hope they would respond properly. read more
