Founded by…read moreinternationally reknown artists, Terri Warpinski and David Graham, this studio and exhibition space unites local talent and nationally recognized artists, creating a vibrant cultural base for contemporary art. Exceptionally curated, their exhibits resourcefully celebrate works, process, historical context and make inquiries into a wide range of themes while remaining incredibly accessible. True to Terri and David's spirt of inclusion, their exhibitions frequently feature a community art experience. I love that they include a way for visitors of all ages to participate. It's refreshing to see children not just welcomed, but encouraged to engage with art. What makes newArtSpace truly special is how it is catalyzing the contemporary scene in De Pere. Terri and David are on a constant mission to uncover and highlight exceptional work from lesser known but extraordinary Midwestern creatives. It is not uncommon for a single exhibition to include astonishing works of photography, painting, sculpture, video, and installation, among others. Their creation of De Pere Art Nite has been a wonderful addition for the area, attracting hundreds of art lovers and visitors monthly and energizing the local art community. Thanks to their dedication, newArtSpace, has become the contemporary art anchor of DePere that is actively shaping and enriching our community's artistic landscape. If you are curious about contemporary Midwestern art, a newArtSpace is a must visit. Be sure to check their Facebook or Instagram page (updated every Monday) for the most current hours so you can engage one on one with these two lovely artists who truly believe that a community with a vibrant art scene is not only more interesting and enjoyable but a fundamental necessity to thrive and grow. Five stars hands down.
