I have an ancient HP All-in-One printer/copier/scanner and while I was scanning an important 40 page legal document using the document feeder, 6 sheets were fed in at once and they were firmly stuck in the feeder. Alameda Business Machines disassembled the feeder and got all the pages out! What a wonderful team Kiyomi and Charlie are! My husband had recently passed away and I needed help to access his computer, mostly for emails. I did not have his passwords and he had put together his own system. I called ABM Computer's recommended by a friend and gave a vague description of my problem. Jesse Nelson came to my house and untangled the total mess of cords and pieces of equipment. These guys are top notch - like having your own private IT department. I had the nightmare happen where I lost a week's worth of work when my laptop crashed. Kyiomi spent an hour trying to recover my documents for me (it was a lost cause, but at least I knew an expert tried everything). They wouldn't charge me for the time even after I insisted. Aces. My wife and I were traveling on a long road trip, and were staying in Alameda at an AirBnb for 5 weeks. My wife is a remote worker, and at first, the AirBnb's wifi was fine. At about the 6 day mark, someone must have moved the router, because suddenly her "office" space was a dead zone, despite other parts of the apartment having a fast connection. After failing to fix the problem ourselves, we found ABM. We described the situation to Jesse, who gave us a great deal on a TP-Link travel router and long ethernet cable. That solved the problem, and now we have a VERY useful piece of equipment for the remainder of the trip. In today's day and age of tech help delivered from massive call centers, this type of one-to-one guidance is worth its weight in gold. SO happy we found ABM! read more

Honestly, I can't review ABM's service, or even their competence. I simply wanted to share a quick story... I went in there with a broken computer screen, fully intending to pay to have it fixed. To quote me a price, the guy went into my system (to see what hardware he'd have to order), and after a few minutes of poking around, showed me where on the Dell website I could have this particular repair done under warranty. (OK, so I'm an idiot, but that's not the point!). Turning down cash money because your customer has a better option is a pretty sure-fire way to earn loyalty, in my opinion... I haven't used ABM, but you can be certain that I will the next time I need computer service! read more

My older desktop power unit went out with a bang! I had other problems with Windows 10 prior to that so I took it to ABM because I was pretty sure I would never figure it all out. They replaced the power unit, reset the bios and re-attached the fan to the video card. They were quick, affordable and did a great job. I will return and highly recommend them. read more

Back in February, I took my laptop computer to be checked as I was having problems with the screen. I dropped it off on a Friday and Monday morning I received a call from them saying someone had broke in and had stolen my laptop :( They (Kate) said, they would replace it with a similar one. Then she called back and said I needed to pay for the "screen repair " $400 they never repaired it! I lost my laptop!! I didn't sign any documents... I told them I shouldn't be paying anything, they should give me a laptop. They said, they would give me $350 the value of my laptop. I know they committed insurance fraud, they were supposed to give me a brand new laptop or the cash equal to about $1400 the price for an Apple laptop. I hope the other customers complain. read more
