My Lenovo ThinkPad computer consume power after turning off. It doesn't charge when plug-in power. The USB-c port doesn't communicate with monitor. I was scared and brought it to this shop. Pourya checked and forced the computer power off. When turn it back on, everything back to normal, taking the charge, and working with my monitor. Pourya didn't even take any payment from this. They really listened to my specific issues and I really appreciate how they dont try to upsell you on the newest latest or extra add ons. They are honest and knowledgable and can explain complex technical issues so even a luddite like me can understand. Gerank and crew are really friendly and welcoming and dont make you feel like an idiot when explaining things. I had a power supply go bad and they had me up and running in no time. A few months later, I needed to upgrade several components on my machine to meet the new minimum specs for apps that I use often. I was looking at a new computer but after a consultation with Gerank, I was able to have them replace my motherboard, processor and graphics card for way less than a new computer would have cost me! I basically got a brand new machine for a fraction of the cost. They really took the time to research and price out compatible components that fit my budget and needs. Vince and two of his employees, Felix and Isaiah, were all amazingly helpful. They were all knowledgeable and friendly. My wonderful computer was slowing down and was so near death it did not want to turn on when I brought it in hoping it could be repaired. I left my baby for them to run some diagnostic test and came back in hour to hear that it was worse than I though. I would be expensive to fix and being an older PC it would still be slow. Heartbroken, I looked at the refurbished computers they had and chose one that would be perfect for my needs. They thought they could have it ready the same day. It was the Friday before New Year's Eve rather than fight traffic going home I decided that I would pick it up after the holiday. Let me tell you why I was amazed at this shop. When I came back to pick up my new PC they were helping a customer who was having a problem with her email. They were so patient with her when she did not know her user name or password. I would not have been as kind and helpful as they were. The Geek Squad would never be this nice. Several people came in to the shop when I was there and they were all treated with respect and a friendly smile. I appreciate the personal service that they offer. Also there was no charge for them to check my computer and they apologized that I would have to wait an hour for them to run the test. A repair shop near me charges $69 for the same test and keeps the computer two days and does not apply that fee to the labor. I thought the price of my new PC was reasonable. I now have: a new, faster, smaller computer. I'm a happy customer and am so glad I listen to my friend Kevin and came here. I think if you need a repair or maybe a refurbished PC you will be very happy if you come here, I certainly am. read more

My kid spilled water on her laptop - which we need for remote school - and killed the keyboard. I called somewhere else and they said it was unfixable. Instead, I brought it to Vince and he was able to replace the keyboard and save the laptop. He was upfront about the cost and how long it would take and was easy to work with. I brought my laptop in for water damage around jan/feb this year. I had to bring it in almost immediately after because a charging port was still not working. i was told just to use the other port- ok fine. then that port stopped working. I brought it in again. i was told it was fixed. weeks later a port stopped working again. i started using the other port and once again that port stopped working. $500 later and multiple trips/days gone without my laptop which has caused me a lot of problems as i need it for my online grad program and the problem is still not fixed. i am extremely frustrated and disappointed in this service. read more

I needed a new internal hard drive for my 11 year old 27 inch IMac. Fortunately I had backed up the data to my external hard drive the prior week. I brought my IMac, my external hard drive alongwith a new external hard drive to Computer Pro and informed Eduardo that I wanted a second copy of the external hard drive made before installing the new ihard drive. Eduardo said he would call me later in the day with an estimate and if I said ok, everything should be ready within a few days. Eduardo called in the afternoon with the estimate and said the IMac might be ready the next day. Sure enough, I got a call that everything was done. At pickup, Eduardo took the time to give me a tutorial on what I needed to know re backing up. If I could give higher than 5 stars for Eduardo's professionalism and work ethic , I would. He is outstanding! On top of this, Vince, the owner, called the following day to see if everything was working ok. I told him another issue developed and he said to contact Eduardo directly. Vince over at computer pros is the man. He took an older MacBook Pro that I strictly use for audio/video production and gave it new life! I initially came in because I deleted my MacOS to do a clean refresh and unbeknownst to me, I could not do an internet recovery from my time machine backup. At this point, I just needed an OS so I can manually migrate over all my files that I kept on my external hard drive. I brought my Mac Book Pro to Computer Pros because I could not get it to turn on. They called me soon after dropping it off saying that Apple had a recall for this exact problem with my computer. They advised me to take it to apple's Genius Bar, citing the recall and Apple fixed the problem at no cost. These guys are great however I agreed to buy one of their laptops after mine was deemed as crashed and I was moving the following week to Hawaii. The laptop I bought had no battery but I was given a charger and also a complimentary mouse. Shortly after I got here to Hawaii I tried to work with the laptop and the charger doesn't exactly fit the laptop. Long story short, this computer is of no use to me because it has no battery and no working power cord. I called 3 weeks ago and was told by the tech that I would be supplied a replacement power cord through Amazon. To date I have nothing. I was desperate and I have used these guys a few times in the past. Their work is quality and I am hoping to hear back from them making good on the warranty, even if I am not exactly round the corner like I was before. read more

While I have used these guys and found them acceptable, I will NEVER use them again. My wife recently came to them with a simple, polite question--"Do you make house calls?"-- and the chap never looked up from what he was doing, never answered her question, and gruffly said "Bring it in." Could he recommend someone who does make house calls? "Bring it in." That sort of rudeness doesn't cut it, even if technically you know what you're doing. We are social animals, and socially your circuitry is way out of whack. read more

So, I bought an HDD drive on Amazon and brought it to him the next day for the swap. The swap was completed in less than 3 hours. He is highly personable. I highly recommend this place. ****warning to all! Never update BIOS or firmware!! These guys are great. They've always been able to help me out with my computer problems and are usually super quick about it. When the hardrive failed on a toshiba they hooked me up with a great deal on a laptop with SSD, a great upgrade. I recently needed to replace some ram but made a huge mistake before I took it to the pros. Swapping out RAM isn't usually a big deal but I had updated all of my drivers hoping that would fix some recent system crashes. Little did I know what a bad idea it is to update your firmware(bios) drivers. Apparently if you update your firmware then you can't install new hardware which is what my system needed. Thankfully Vincent has been able to loan me a computer until the issue is figured out. It was my stupid naive mistake and fingers crossed the BIOS can get reset. Lesson learned for sure though and next time I will just take it to Computer Pros in the first place before I make things worse. Despite this recent headache, overall I've been super happy with Vincent and all the pros at Computer Pros. read more

Went to get my computer fixed which they did manage to do. They were going to initially tell me a quote but then they just fixed it and told me it was $100. I ask him to come take a look at a keyboard that needed to have sounds downloaded. Twice there were appointments for them to come to my house but they didn't show up either time. Now when I called the number, it says the number is no longer available which tells me they are either out of business or they blocked my number which I would find pretty inappropriate under the circumstances. read more

I HAD to write a review because I had the best experience with Computer Pros! I started up my 10+ yr old MacBook Pro and got nothing but a flashing file with a question mark on my screen. I looked it up and found that it was my internal hard drive. I called Compter Pros and spoke to Vince. Vince is so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Long story short, I took it in and he explained the diagnosis. He put in a brand new hard drive and retrieved all of my files! When I picked up my MacBook he schooled me on how to maintain my MacBook so it gives me the best life. He answered all of my ignorant questions in a way that I understood. He knows Alameda very well and was able to give me some pointers on how to improve our computer speed at home (something a lot of Alamedans struggle with I've heard), which had nothing to do with the work he did on my computer. That is just how helpful he is. We were interrupted by a costumer who came in and called him by first name basis and looked at me and said "isn't this place great"? Yes it is. I walked out feeling smarter and with my brand new computer (felt like it) in hand. The price was also great, he doesn't charge to diagnose the issue, only the work. I became a bit irritated by the new employees who have taken over the office, since it seems that Vincent is often away from the store. The new employees are knowledgable as well, but speak in technical terms that makes understanding difficult.
