I've utilized massage therapy, the waxing services, and hear great things about the facial offerings. I look forward to my appointment each time. Rebel and Lynn at the front desk are great! I was really looking forward to this massage, but unfortunately I left feeling disappointed…read more Natalia was pleasant, but despite asking several times for firmer pressure, I didn't notice much of a difference. The massage started at my feet and worked all the way up to my scalp, which I found to be an unusual sequence. I've had many massages over the years, and I've never experienced one done in that order, so it felt a bit odd. The pressure remained too light throughout, and I kept hoping it would improve, but it never did. I paid for a 90-minute session and, honestly, I was ready to leave after the first 20 minutes. To top it off, at the end of the massage I was handed a dry towel to wipe the massage oil off myself, which felt unusual and took away from what should have been a relaxing experience. The spa itself is beautiful, and the receptionist was warm and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I just wish the massage had matched the quality of the rest of the experience.

It's hard to pick a favorite part of the day but breath work and meditation with Ben in the sound healing room was so centering and a perfect way to start a lovely sequence of restorative treatments. All treatments were next level and the environment very intentionally curated and sacred. Blush's practitioners all went beyond to support the refreshing day I needed for so so long. Plus the official snack break was elevated-- a generous multi cheese platter with fresh veggies, hummus, nuts, fruit. Just refreshing and absolutely lovely. Dolores is also a very talented intuitive. She introduced me to cacao ceremony as a method of manifestation and guided me through an extensive oracle reading. I can't wait to visit her and Blush again for another reset & restore. She warmly greeted me and asked if there were any areas on my body which were bothering me or that she needed to pay attention to so as not to cause discomfort. The way she used her hands and arms let me know she is very much in tune with what she's doing. She knew exactly where and how much pressure to apply to release the tension in my body. It was a couples massage. My girlfriends was decent. With hundreds of massages under my belt, I feel this and this price. 90% of Asian massages at half the cost were twice as good. Never had this issue in places like Serenity Spa in Granite Bay or other Sacramento area establishments. It has been over a month and after a trip expensive trip to the ER and time, it is mostly feeling healed. It was Excessive Pressure. The owner offered an apology and had a conversation with the therapist about the incident she stated. No refund was ever given and all communication ceased. It is probably not worth contacting an attorney at this point. ($1600 ER bill) and many days of pain, but an expensive lesson. Higher priced massages does not necessarily equate to higher quality.

There were several spots to sit and have a quiet moment on the property and there was tea and water and nuts available in multiple spots. I had the cedar bath followed by the fusion massage. The cedar bath is a very unique experience and felt grounding and comforting. It was indeed special and a unique experience and it is something I will likely come back for. Now the not so positive...the showers and changing rooms are quite small and very well lived in. The shower curtain had a mold like smell and considering how immaculate the gardens are, I am surprised they have not invested some funds into updating the indoor facilities, especially because the services are priced fairly high. I went on a Monday and my locker room wasn't busy but I can imagine it may get busy on the weekends because they are small and do not have much room for more than 1-2 people at a time. My massage was mediocre at best. I regularly get Swedish massages and do not require a lot of pressure but the massage therapist was very gentle and at times I felt like I was being softly pet and not massaged. I asked for more pressure five times and after that it started getting awkward for me. She also did not ask me if I wanted my scalp massaged and did this at the end and left my hair quite oily. I normally agree to the scalp massage but did not want to wash my hair after. In all the massages I have had, the therapist usually asks before using oil on the scalp. Finally, I paid the upgrade fee to have my massage in the Pagoda. It was a hot day so the therapist kept the door open and then later shut it due to bugs. After I left I counted (and took some pictures which I will spare the internet) of 9 huge mosquito bites. It's been 12 hours and I am still itching! I think I will give this spa one more shot because of the cedar bath but I may skip the other services.

How about when you first drive up the winding drive, and glimpse the first take of the stunning main building. I arrived at night, so all the ambience from the lighting, the moon, the glimmer off the fountain in the middle of the courtyard. Immediately was struck. Then I walked in to check in at the front desk - and I couldn't have been more welcoming. I had just made the marathon drive from Pasadena, CA, and was just tired, hungry and looking to get to the room and get to dinner. But the warm faces and kind words instantly washed the road away from me (and to be honest, the perfectly chilled glass of local champagne certainly helped that too!). They ensured everything was right with the room and with the stay and so I headed out to pick up the puppy from the car and settle up to the room. And then... there is the story of the puppy. Out of all the hotels and resorts I've stayed in - nothing NOTHING compares to the dog friendly (while still wholly human centric) service at this Fairmont. They made me feel like Chance was as much a guest there as I was. And all that isn't even to mention the concierge, the perfect cocktails from the bartender, the beautiful winding paths that guide you through the campus, the world class spa and massages (note - make SURE you check out the quiet room, nothing like it I've ever seen), the OUTSTANDING breakfast under the trees next to the pool... I just don't have time to list it all here. But the cherry on top - really is the people. They just... they are the magic that infuses everything in the building, everything in the resort, everything in the spa. They were there for me at every turn and at every moment, for every need. This couldn't possibly have been better - and I honestly can't wait to return.

The experience was basically just access to a pool area. There weren't many amenities, activities, or anything that made it feel like a luxury resort day. The setting itself also wasn't particularly impressive, with parts of the pool area feeling like they were right next to utility equipment rather than a relaxing spa environment. I'm a Fairmont member and have stayed at several Fairmont properties, including Banff and Hawaii, so I came in with high expectations. Unfortunately, this experience didn't come close to the level of service or value I've come to expect from the brand. If you're in your 30s looking for a fun, relaxing day trip from San Francisco, I'd skip this. It's not about the cost alone. I don't mind paying for quality, but this just didn't deliver enough to justify the price. A disappointing experience and a missed opportunity for what could have been a great destination.

I explained to the lady that a friend of mine just made the appointment not even 20 minutes ago and I do not care to go.
