I am a local realtor and I have been referring Jim Davis for over 5 years now. He has done over 40 inspections for me and my clients are ALWAYS satisfied! He is always professional and very knowledgeable. He shows up on time and always takes time at the end of the inspection to go over with a fine tooth comb ALL the results in the report. He has his computer out and the report pops up and Mr. Davis goes over EVERY page. Any area of concern has pictures to document the issue. He has a summary page at the end that makes it easy for realtors and clients to pick the items we want to negotiate. I have had 2 clients choose to pick other inspectors as price was an issue. The first client had the inspection and I had to meet the inspector to let him in. I asked when I should come back to go over the report and lock up. He said: In about an hour. Mr. Davis takes a half day to do a thorough inspection, not a 1 hour quick fix! The second client that choose a cheaper route is now having issues in her back yard that I know Mr. Davis would have reported and noted. A++ Service! Mr. Davis performed an exhaustively thorough inspection of our prospective home, finding it to be in very good condition with very few issues, but being that no building, old or new, is absolutely perfect, he discovered several very minor issues including some in very hidden places, like a crushed bathroom vent duct buried under the deep insulation in the attic. Obviously, issues like these are only found when an inspector is very thorough. His report contained excellent photos and descriptions of the issues he discovered, and he explained in detail the items on the list, their severity, and the items that required immediate attention vs those that were basically optional, including the exact location of the hidden items since his discovery of the crushed duct, for example, would have been difficult to locate since he restored the insulation he had to move to do the inspection to a state that looked like it had never been touched! The next time I need inspection services within his territory, he will be the inspector I call! read more

Very BAD experience, Jim missed the easy stuff. He inspected my home and found very little wrong with it. I thought great. But when I moved into my house I find out he didn't even look at all the windows. Many clearly had failed seals and moisture was forming inside the window. If he had looked at all the windows and pointed out that the seal had failed on several windows I could have had them fixed before the sale of the house while they were still under warranty of the original owners. Now it's going to cost me about $1000. When I asked him why he missed them. His response was basically "well I don't stand behind my work and you should have had a window guy come check my work." All this makes me wonder. If he missed the windows, which are by far the easiest thing on a house to inspect, what else did Jim miss? Maybe he didn't find many things wrong because he just didn't look very hard. Bottom line I paid him $500 and he's already cost me $1000 on the first day in my new home. Thanks Jim read more

I have always gone back to Jim Davis because of the thorough job he has done for my clients over the last 10 years or so. I have never once had a complaint about his work ethic, being on time, availability, knowledge, or his ability to easily go through an inspection with either myself or my clients. I had Jim inspected my first house 8 years ago. He did a very thorough inspection and provided a detailed report with self explanatory pictures of problematic areas. I didn't meet Jim face to face, as we were relocating from out of state and couldn't be at the inspection due to those logistics. However, when I spoke to him on the phone he was very thorough and answered many of my questions before I asked them. Some people might think that a new build doesn't need much of an inspection, but I beg to differ. Jim found several smaller scale items that needed to be adjusted, fixed, etc. in our new build that I would have never found myself. His inspection report was easy to interpret (for the lay person) and I was able to submit my repair requests to the builder without much confusion. We were in a time crunch as our final walk-through was in three days. Jim Davis came highly recommended by one of our friends and we called him late evening on a Monday and he came out to the house the next day on a Tuesday to conduct an inspection of our new home. ATH and Jim were spectacular! Based on Jim's inspection I was saved from a huge disaster. Jim's detailed inspection was exactly what the home needed to truly be repaired. Unfortunately we did not buy the home, however, and fortunately we did not buy the home. If not for Jim, the problems in the home would not have been uncovered. I would definitely recommend Jim Davis over any other inspector in the great state of Texas. From the first day I called him he was extremely professional and out going. He inspected a house I was buying and because of his thoroughness, he identified problems that would had cost me up to $6,000-$10,000 to repair. However, the seller agreed to fix the issues.
