I was referred to Recon Inspection when purchasing a home through a reputable turn-key investment company. Generally, I never use a company that was recommended by a realtor or someone with a vested interest in the property I'm looking to acquire. But because I was pretty comfortable with this company and searched some google reviews, I felt comfortable using Recon. The day of the inspection, Randall arrived 15 minutes early and let me know he was ready to work. At the end of the inspection, he called me and spent exactly 23 minutes explaining serious and moderate concerns, what his recommendations were, and how I should proceed from there. Later in the day, I had a follow up question so I texted a few questions and he called me in the afternoon and spent 5 minutes talking to me about my two questions when a simple text would have sufficed. I got the inspection report later in the evening as promised even though I told him he could send it in the AM but he still got it done late at night. The report was thorough and detailed. I've bought a small handful of homes before and have similar capabilities of a contractor so I have a good idea of when a report has a lot of fluff, is exaggerated or does not show me things I need to know about. If you want an inspector that is worth your dollar and will spend the time to speak to you about your concerns and anything related, he is definitely your guy. read more

Randall is not only reasonable in his rate, but he is also very knowledgeable, thorough, responsive, and helpful. So glad I found him/his company Recon Home Inspections here on Yelp. I contacted several inspectors/companies. He was one of the quickest to response for a quote and answered my questions. I was in the prepurchase townhome inspection with him. It was 1500 sq ft 2 story that was build in the 80s. The process was around 2 hours. He walked me through what he found that I needed to know and if I had decided to purchase it, the specific routine maintenance it needed and what to pay attention to such as monitoring the size of the water damage/leak on the ceilings and cracks on the walls that might be causing by the shift of foundation just to name a couple. Due to several major issues of the townhome such as A/C was too old (~20 years) which the temperature couldn't go down, plus the recent tornado/storms revealed leak/water damage in multiple areas, and the seller wasn't willing to go down on the price or fixing the issues even knowing the findings, I decided not to buy that unit. I told Randall the same afternoon after the inspection about my decision, so he could save the time as there was no need to write the report. I asked him if he could give me credit towards the next inspection for another unit. He replied that he would credit me $100 toward my next inspection since he didn't have to write the report. He did and I was so glad the second townhome he inspected was in a way better conditions and I'm in the process of purchasing that one. I was also present in the second inspection. After his inspection, he suggested to have an electrician and an HVAC technician to have further inspection. I contacted my go to electrician and he could basically go off from reading the inspection report from Randall/Recon and give me a ballpark quote. I'm also glad I had a good HVAC tech inspected it afterwards. Buying a house/townhome is very stressful and having a team of expertise was very helpful. I am so glad I found the right people to help with making an informed decision for such a huge purchase. I highly recommend Randall/Recon Home Inspections. You will be glad you hire him! read more

He was very thorough throughout the inspection, he took his time making sure everything was covered and that we understood what all was missing, deficient, or out of code on our home purchase. He was very responsive and answered any questions as soon as he could which was no more than a few minutes after contacting him. Once we received the pdf file of our inspection it was super easy to read and additionally I was very appreciative of the photos next to every issue so it made it very clear on what exaclty was being discussed.
