Cute small shop, definitely wanted to try some drinks near the nail salon I was at. I went in for a Brown Sugar Pearl Latte & a Taro milk tea (unfortunately didn't get a picture). Both came with boba, great sweet flavor. The Brown Sugar Latte was good. I felt like it needed it to be a bit sweeter for my taste. Overall it would've been 10/10. The Taro Milk tea was a no go, the gentleman that took my order told me that this was the actual taro. As in, the taro wasn't premade it was the powder itself with the milk. It wasn't a hit, why because it wasn't mixed well. Got chunks of powder as we took a sip. We tried mixing it well but it wasn't just messy at this point that the straw was inserted. They have a variety of options, I'd have to give them another try when I do return to Utah. Overall, service was decent.
We went after dinner on NYE. I needed something sweet, and I enjoy trying boba places. There was quite a line, but the staff got our orders out quickly! I loved my tea! Just what I needed. The place was clean and cutely decorated for winter!

Cheese foam is great as always. Service is better, as some of the new servers are a lot more friendly. Love the Tieguanyin rich milk tea but this time it's kinda bland (a little watered down...)
We dropped by AbouTea for an after lunch boba while on a recent visit to SLC. They have some interesting tea choices - it's always nice to see tieguanying on a menu! Still, since this was our first time visiting and we were absolutely stuffed from lunch, we went with a normal black milk tea. Pearl Black Milk Tea, 50% Honey, 50% Ice w/ Boba ($6) - The drink isn't bad at all. It's quite a bit too sweet at 50% and according to the menu, they use honey as the sweetener, although I think it tastes more like brown sugar than honey. I'm guessing they soak the boba in a brown sugar solution, not to mention they also coat the sides of the cup with the brown sugar syrup to create a pleasing pattern on the inside of the cup. While there's plenty of body from the creamer, there's not too much tea flavor due to the brown sugar. Even though the drink is too sweet, it's a soothing sweetness rather than being harsh like a typical fructose syrup based drink that's sweetened too far. I would probably do 25% next time. Interestingly enough, they use a blender to mix the tea, creamer, and ice together to aerate the mixture instead of shaking it which is what the usual boba places do. The boba isn't bad at all either. It's a bit firmer in texture than my preference, but the outside is smooth and the pearls have a great sweetness level with a pretty good chew and bounce. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 Our first boba shop visit in SLC was certainly a success. If this is the quality of boba in SLC, I can't wait to discover what's next. Thank you to Yelp for hosting this Elite Experience. What can I say, customer service was great, I love the option to customize the drink based on sweetness and ice level. My drink was exactly how I liked it, and the most important part, was that the bona was cooked to perfection with a slight chew but cooked well enough that it was easy to drink. Most definitely comparable to the boba you can find in Taiwan (where boba originated), I will definitely be back!

Interior seemed clean from afar, but upon closer look, but tables can be wiped down a bit better (was sticky and had some residue). Was a nice surprise to see they had a cute little kitchen play set for the littles!
Pretty good Pretty good It's in front the Arby's on state next to Chinatown so you can miss it and you can't but if you're coming in off State Street make sure to dodge the big ol business sign thing in the middle of the entrance (it's hard and easy to miss if you know what I mean) I got the taro drink. Still my fave tea place. Their matcha slush with red bean is yummy. I also like their 38 milk king, half sweet. They gave out these cute dragon crafts kits for Lunar New Year too. My kids love the little kids play area.
Came for a yelp event. I got two drinks. King milk tea and grapefruit tea. The employees were super nice and helpful. They even let me taste a few of the boba/jellies they had. The area is clean. Definitely would come back. Liked that you can adjust sweetness and ice levels. Both my husband and I enjoyed our drinks!
I love so many things about this place the first thing right when you get there parking is really easy. Second you go in and the ambience is modern and fresh and a place that my kids can hang out and play. There's a restroom that easily accessible and clean, and there's good board games that we can play. The staff are super nice and can provide recommendations for what you want. There's so many good drink options and caffeine free options are labeled nicely on the menu here. The boba is always QQ- perfect consistency and I love the other options like basil seeds! I especially love that I can alter ice and sugar levels too. Personal preferences: 38 taro slush and passion fruit with basil.
I love this place and their drinks are very tasty, I would give them 5 stars if it weren't for the icy blended drinks. The past couple times I've asked them for extra blended so there are no ice chunks but there are still HUGE ice chunks I'm practically chewing my drink. Such a bummer!
Tried AbouTea and got the Red Bean Jelly Milk. It's a no-caffeine option made with sweet red beans, yellow jelly, whole milk, and brown sugar. There was a fair amount of jelly, and the sweetness was well-balanced. I liked that the drink wasn't overly sugary, and the red beans added a nice earthy flavor. It's definitely a unique combo if you're into traditional-style toppings. The shop is right next to Chinatown and has a cozy vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful, and they walk you through the menu if you're unsure what to get. You can customize sweetness and ice levels. Overall, I think this is a boba spot worth trying. The pricing is reasonable. It's also convenient to get a drink here and then walk around Chinatown. read more
About tea is possibly my favorite boba spot in town. I won't say they are revolutionary in the world of boba, but they have always been consistent. It's one of the most reliable shops for not having over cooked boba, and the flavors are great. My favorite drink is earl grey milk tea with cheese foam, which makes an incredible combination. The staff here is nice, and kick out drinks pretty quickly. They have consistently worked to make drinks correctly and do a great job with the consistency. The shop itself is clean, and offers a few board games and has music playing to entertain people that want to hang out for a little bit. This shop is just south of Chinatown, so you don't have to go into one of the busiest parking lots in the valley just to get a drink. If you are at chinatown already, it's a short walk over to visit. read more

I was excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. It was just okay. I got the Roasted Tieguanyin Milk Tea with no ice, 30% sweet and grass jelly. It ended up tasting like what I would expect to be 50% or 70% sweet, maybe because they use honey? Also, the grass jelly was sweetened, too, which I have never experienced before. The drink did not have a strong tea flavor and ended up just tasting like sweet milk. For how much this cost, I was expecting a stronger tea flavor. Gladly finished the drink, but probably will not return. read more
So excited we finally were able to try this new spot on Christmas!! Service was prompt, with the cashier being more than helpful in explaining different toppings and flavors available. We settled on the Grapefruit Green Tea with Agar Jelly and it was the perfect refresher beverage with a pop of tang from the jelly! The green tea came through, bright and bold, but without overpowering the sweet splash of grapefruit.This would be an outstanding summer drink in Utah heat!! Interior was well lit and very clean, and our drinks were prepared in under 3 minutes. Lovely staff, and right next to Chinatown Supermarket which we frequent all the time. This is actually the very first shop of its kind in Utah - but is a VERY well-known brand all around Taiwan, Canada, and many other countries. Their main focus is providing fresh & plentiful options of yummy teas. They truly have an almost endless amount of options you can choose from to create a perfect drink. You really can't go wrong with anything you order either - it is all so delicious and perfectly balanced. This time I went with the Signature Lite Fruit Tea, Pearl Cheese Milk with Ice Cream & Matcha Milk Tea with red beans! They were all absolutely delicious, but I had never had ice cream in my boba before and it really made that Milk Tea extra creamy! I also really enjoyed the Fruit Tea with the fresh fruits infused within - it might just be my new favorite! read more

The boba is well made but I wasn't a fan of the Rose milk tea. It wasn't very sweet, but I want to try another flavor in the future honestly because I think it was just a flavor not for me. The service was lacking a lot and the cashier was very short with me. The store vibe itself was pretty nice, it has board games to play while you drink your boba which was nice. read more

We come from Cali, the land of Boba. After a long weekend of skiing we were craving boba and decided on AbouTea. This place deserves FIVE stars! Loved all the selections, plenty of variety of slushes, fruit teas, milk teas and our favorite Matcha & Red Bean which are the road less travelled. My boba tea connoisseur kids raved about the quality of the milk tea & the freshness of the boba and jelly. Service was swift and efficient. We overheard the staff helping customers new to boba and answered all their questions patiently and informatively. We will definitely be back next time we roll in to SLC. read more

I've gone here twice now in the past two days! Their boba is cooked perfectly to my personal taste and is sweet how I like. I've had the rose oolong tea and the rose milk tea, both of which I really enjoyed. The drinks weren't too overly sweet at the regular sweetness but it's nice that they always ask for ice/sweetness adjustments. They also offer a lot of different board games on each table so I'll definitely be bringing my friends! The service is quick and the staff is very friendly as well. read more

4.5/5 Food 5/5 Service (doesn't apply much but they were quick to make the drinks) 3.5/5 Atmosphere/ Seating Arrangement 4/5 Value 5/5 Cleanliness Came here 3-4 times in the span of a week and really enjoyed the drinks each time. The place is pristine, but unfortunately some evenings it gets pretty packed and the seating is limited so you might have to wait for a spot or come early. The pricing seems normal for boba drinks and I feel like the large is an especially good deal since you get about double for $0.50 more. A lot of options to choose from and all their boba is brown sugar boba so it's extra sweet, I was also happy to see they offer the cheese foam which is really good! read more

I got a taro milk tea. When I tried it, I literally spit it out on the ground. I tried shaking it, because it was gritty and nasty, then tried another sip. Atrocious. I called and asked if I could bring the drink back and get something else and they said no. So I payed $7 plus a tip for two sips of a nasty drink. Customer service is important, I would've spent a lot more money here in the long run if they had done the right thing. Sadly, won't be back. read more

BAD SERVICE. SCAMMING GIFTCARD. The cashier said I got two free drinks for buying the giftcard already. Huh???? So I got YOUR PROMOTION for buying the giftcard and I'M SUPPOSED TO LOSE MONEY ON THE GIFTCARD WITHOUT KNOWING WHY? ... Drinks are okay, but their giftcard thing makes me feel like I was scammed. I bought the $50 card and used it three times then the card is $6.90 left?!?! I knew exactly what i've got and there's no way $30 left in the card became $6.90. Except for that one time the machine couldn't take the giftcard due to some internet connection issue. Other than that idk how i lost my money. I know it's not the cashier's fault since they couldnt do anything to the card's balance. I know it's not their fault either when they said they couldnt track the usage history of the card. But guess what?? He said I got two free drinks for buying the giftcard already. So I got YOUR PROMOTION for buying the giftcard and I'M SUPPOSED TO LOSE MONEY ON GIFTCARD WITHOUT KNOWING WHY? I can pay back for the drinks I got from you, and even double of that amount if you can show me why the card went wrong, can you? He could have said something like he would let the store manager know about the issue (even though 90% of the time the employee won't, and it's still okay).
